A brand new western/Japanese fusion style hotel. Rooms are very spacious, well designed and comfortable. Excellent rain shower and bathrooms. Ground floor deli and shop was terrific with all sorts of culinary treats. The Service was great, however the lifts were a bit slow at times. They wanted to charge us 6,000 yen to access the rooms a few hours earlier than nominated check in time, which we declined. A really good centrally located hotel to explore the delights of Kyoto.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The room was super comfortable and very spacious for Japanese standards. The staff were fantastic, we arrived slightly earlier and had forwarded our luggage and they had kindly put it in our room and we were able to check in slightly earlier. The location was great and walkable to lots of places, we really enjoyed our stay here!

This was my first trip to Kyoto and there are many options for hotels. I was having trouble deciding exactly where but Good Nature turned out to be an excellent choice because:

1. It's right downtown - a few minutes walk to two subway stops - you'll use the subway to get to good attractions like Inari, Nara, Kiyomizu

2. You are within walking distance to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki markets

3. There were 3 individual beds - in a standard room and despite this being 28m2 the layout of the room is very good. (with the sink outside the bathroom itself) Of course, if you want the deluxe room it's much bigger but it will cost a lot more

4. The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and explained everything.

5. Buffet breakfast was a good selection of Western and Asian choices. The restaurant was very clean. The prosciutto was amazing!

The hotel is excellently located
(Central) Close to Nishiki Market, Yasaka Temple, train station, the hotel is beautifully designed, in a modern style while maintaining a green environment. The room is wide and beautifully decorated and luxurious, there are bathrobes and slippers. A good breakfast that combines Japanese and Western food.
The room is a smart room controlled by a tablet, and the hotel staff is welcoming and very friendly

Hands down one of the best places to stay in Kyoto. The rooms are luxurious and large and all of the staff go out of their way to be accomodating. Have shared this hotel with all my friends who will all be booking here over the next 12 months for their Japan trips! Highly recommend!

One of the best hotels we stayed in during our Japan trip. The rooms were incredibly comfy and there is a lot of attention for detail. We booked a double room with a large bed, and our room had a comfy corner couch to chill on. There was plenty of space to store your items and baggage. Large shower and a large super comfortable bed. I highly recommend this place!

The only thing that was missing was an ironer.

Favorite hotel from my Japan trip. Room was cozy and modern. Location is 3 minutes from Nishiki Market and 5 from Gion. Can't get more convenient than that. Staff was friendly and helpful (even by Japan standards.)

Wish I could give this 6 stars! Such an amazing experience at the good nature hotel, the room was so comfortable, including a bath and the best couch to chill out on. The breakfast buffet was truly delicious and had heaps of vegetarian options. The staff were very friendly and approachable throughout the stay. Great location in Kyoto, but honestly we were so happy to spend time relaxing in the hotel room. The design of the room was so perfect and the bathroom products were heavenly. It is so contemporary and considered, really loved it.

Highly recommended, different hotel concept and valuable for price. Room are big compared to others, friendly staff. But it was little noisy from the cars outside.

Lovely hotel, great central location & most of the front desk staff can communicate in English. Hotel room was fairly large by Japan standards, pajama, slippers, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, shopping tote, in room tea/coffee, metal water bottles provided but not toothbrush/toothpaste or hairbrush (they can be purchased). Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of foods to suit many palates. Nishiki market less than 10 min walk; easy to find food on foot. 10 min from Kyoto station by taxi, 20 by bus. We really enjoyed our stay!

We were very pleased with the stay in Sept 7th for one night. The gentleman at front desk were friendly and helpful, the room was perfect so was the breakfast selection. We would stay at the hotel again and would recommend anyone go to Kyoto to stay at this hotel.

This place is absolutely stunning.

Every detail is perfectly placed, and it seems they have thought of everything. From complete control over your environment in the room to the staff who are friendly, kind, professional, and very helpful.

The service was the best we have ever experienced.

The location is also great, situated near all manner of conveniences, while the temples, restaurants, and other Kyoto attractions are within walking distance.

While not cheap, if you can afford it, this is the place to stay.

This is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed. It is a contemporary designed with nature in mind. We like the good size room layout, the amenities, the bed and cozy couch, which we usually don't use in many hotels but we enjoyed it at GNHK. The staff were very helpful and courteous. I was surprised I could get bus day pass at the reception. The hotel location is ideal for us to go anywhere in Kyoto with bus stand and train station very nearby.

We also ate at the level 1 cafe which served healthy, organic and very delicious meal. The whole establishment is amazing and i would stay at this hotel if we were to come back to Kyoto. Highly recommended.

WOW! Such a beautiful centrally located hotel!! Everything you need is walking distance! Modern, sleek decor in the very spacious room. We were 3 adults (parents and son) and never felt cramped at all. The staff was so friendly, helpful, efficient! I borrowed an iron and it came in minutes! Laundry service was impeccable. All of our items returned folded and packaged. Definitely will return when in Kyoto!

The hotel is at prime location where you can savour local delicacies and shop for japanese souvenirs. The hospitality is top notch. Staffs are very helpful and nice, and the room is also very clean and modern. Definitely one of the best places to stay when you travel to Kyoto.

This hotel is a place where travelers from other countries can be happy because of its nice service, clean modern look, fancy restaurant, and lots of interesting things around the hotel.

But there's something else good about this hotel that not many people know about.

It's about the safety and health of travelers from other countries.
In August 2023, when I visited Kyoto from Seoul, I was planning to stay at this hotel with my wife for two nights.
After we got to the hotel and it became late at night, my wife started feeling pain that we didn't know the cause of. It got worse quickly, and she needed to go to the emergency room.

A kind person named Mr. Muramaki, who was working late at the hotel, helped us.
He connected us to a hospital in Kyoto and even called an ambulance to come to the hotel.
Thanks to Japan's good medical system, my wife got the medicine she needed right away and got treated quickly even she is foreign traveler.

If you're a traveler from another country looking for a normal hotel, you don't have to stay at this hotel.

But if you only have one life and you care about being safe and healthy when you're in another country with your family,
it's smart to choose this hotel as the most important option.

I want to sincerely thank Mr. Muramaki and the hotel staff who helped a lot when my family's health was in danger.

This hotel was one of the best hotel experiences I've had anywhere, but particularly in Japan. Despite having a lower cost per night than all the other hotels we stayed at, this hotel was cleaner, more modern, more beautiful, and more spacious. The front desk was extremely helpful and accommodated our needs beyond my expectations. It's as though they read my mind. The room has many wonderful touches that a traveler will appreciate: a stylish and comfortable shopping tote for your use, refillable metal water bottles that you can fill with drinking water from a dispenser on each floor, ambient lighting controls/temperature/housekeeping controls from a tablet. A cute teapot and complimentary teas and chocolate to enjoy. A toilet with its own door. Spacious sink and bath area. A modern sofa. Plenty of surfaces to place your belongings. The hotel is also a quick walk to many attractions and a conveniently short walk from bus stops. If you are arriving by shinkansen to Kyoto Station, just walk to the bus stop area at the station and catch a bus up to to the hotel area. In summary, truly excellent and stylish hotel. I wish there was a Good Nature Hotel everywhere we travel!

We stayed 3 different hotel during our japan trip and Good Nature Hotel was the best hotel experience we ever had!
Location is perfect. It's very central location; shops, restaurants are 5-10 min walk away. Also there are subway and bus stations near.
Hotel and rooms had a uniqie style and we loved that. Our room was big and comfy. Everything was clean and look new.
Good Nature Market has a lot of good organic food and product. We wanted to explore cafes and restaurants in the copmplex more but our time in Kyoto was limited.
Also we want to thank Ms. Tanaka for guidanance about restaurants. Her restaurant advice was more than perfect for us.
We hope we'll be return to Good Nature Hotel!

Good Nature Hotel is in a good central location in Kyoto, 10 minutes by taxi from train station. The hotel aims to minimise its carbon footprint and is single plastic free. The service from staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is ok, a bit chaotic and there are plenty of choices outside the hotel, so I would choose to eat breakfast out of hotel.

OVERALL / TLDR: I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Good Nature Hotel - it FAR exceeded any expectations. I was almost disappointed I had to leave during the day to go sightseeing and excitedly look forward to my next stay!

LOCATION: This hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of Gion district, Nishiki Market, and lovely Pontocho street. Its less than 5 minutes to the Hankyu rail line (Osaka-Kyoto) and was a quick, inexpensive 10-min taxi ride from Kyoto Station

STAFF: Staff were delightfully welcoming through our whole stay, and can communicate clearly in English. When I was checking out, they kindly directed me to the correct rain line to get to my next destination.

ROOM: I stayed on the 8th floor (of 9) and let me tell you my jaw DROPPED upon entering the room. It was bright and spacious but also felt cozy and inviting. They ask that shoes be removed upon entering the room and they provide comfortable slippers for use. The room itself is full of luxe amenities but goes above and beyond with the lounge set, Bose portable mini speaker to connect via bluetooth, and eco-friendly reusables (shopping bag and insulated tumblers).

THE PROPERTY: Aside from the luxe room amenities, the property provide a comfortable environment for any variety of travel groups (family, couples, business, solo). The 4th floor is home to the check-in counters and concierge, a sprawling lounge, covered outdoor meditation deck, and central covered courtyard with additional lounge furniture and fire pit. There are a variety of restaurants across a couple floors, as well as a small market on the ground floor.
