Sizuya - Kyoto Station

Honestly the best baguette I’ve ever had, including the extensive amount of baguettes I’ve had in cafes around Paris. Get them in half size or full size (I usually grab four full sizers when I’m here and take them back to my hotel with me because they’re sooooooo good). Japanese bakeries take their craft very seriously when it comes to baking bread French style.

They also have round ones on equally delicious rolls, along with heaps of other baked delicacies, like bacon and cheese twists, donuts and more. But the baguettes are the clear speciality. The cheese is buttery and the ham is so savory. A must-visit if you find yourself in Kyoto Station. It’s on the west side of the station.

Best soft bun I have ever tasted in my life!!! Worth the trip from London U.K. - Kyoto Japan. Everything else here good too but these buns are heavenly.

We tried their black sesame sizuyapan. It is the best black sesame bun I’ve tasted, it’s almost heavenly. Highly recommended. Will go for more and try their other flavors.

I visited this place 2 years ago and I am still in love with the green Hokkaido melon pan. A perfect stop to stack up on good bread before taking a day trip!

Picked up some bits and pieces for a train ride to the countryside and boy, was it worth it. Katsusando were just the right size without being too overwhelming, mixed sandwiches went down well but the star was the curry and egg bun. This was so good! Definitely get them in the morning when they are still hot.

We didn't know that this is a popular bakery store in Kyoto. We just passed by in the Kyoto Station and saw this line of people in the bakery. Out of curiosity, we came in and bought 2 breads - cheese bread and the custard bread. We like the cheese bread as we love cheese products. But what I really appreciated is the Custard bread. I love the Donut with Bavarian filling back in the Philippines. I had wish that there's more bavarian filling. This custard bread from Sizuya Bakery is like a Bavarian bread and with more bavarian filling! Love it totally!
