Ace Hotel Kyoto

Our 3 night stay at the Ace Kyoto Hotel in April 2024 left us with very nice memories. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were enveloped in a unique ambiance that set this hotel apart. The interior design, a blend of modernity and tradition, lent a special charm to every corner, making it an unforgettable experience.

Despite our standard room being a tad small, it offered everything we needed, and what truly mattered was its remarkable quietness, thanks to excellent soundproofing. This ensured peaceful nights of rest, undisturbed by the outside hustle.

Included in our rate was a delightful breakfast experience, with four options to choose from (additional orders were available for a fee). The staff at breakfast were unfailingly helpful and welcoming, adding to the warmth of the morning atmosphere.

On one evening, we indulged in a dinner at the hotel's Italian restaurant, a delightful deviation from our sushi-filled days. The pizza we savored was a welcome change, perfectly prepared and served with flair.

Overall, our stay at the Ace Kyoto Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. It's one of those rare establishments that leave an indelible mark, thanks to its ambiance, attentive staff, and culinary delights. If you're seeking a memorable experience in Kyoto, look no further.

Loved the décor, style, and vibe of the room and hotel. The robes were extremely comfortable. The vinyl player in the room was perfect addition. Staff were super friendly. Hotel was very environmentally friendly. Room toilet was very well designed and aesthetically pleasing. Tourist map was made uniquely interesting and user friendly

The Ace Hotel in Kyoto is one of my favorite hotel stays anywhere. It's a beautiful building, in a great location downtown that provides a ton of great amenities. Two of my favorites are the gym (which many Japanese hotels do not provide) and the Stumptown roasters coffee shop, which had truly excellent coffee, juice and pastries.

The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious and the hotel itself is luxurious without being pretentious or stuffy. The staff speaks great English, they are very welcoming and happy to summon a cab or help make a dinner reservation.

If we were to ever go back to Japan, a long stay in Kyoto at the Ace Hotel would be a centerpiece of that trip. Kyoto the city, and the Ace Hotel are worth the travel. I would not hesitate to re-book and to recommend highly to all family and friends.

Perfect location, lovely rooms, and such welcoming service including a young in-house café! The food was good, but overall nothing special, but then again you are in Kyoto and there are such amazing options, also the hotel staff will happily help you with this.
We would definitely stay here again for our next visit.

The absolute perfect place to stay in Kyoto. Stayed in the Ace Suite and it was awesome. Meticulously clean, very large for Japan, and if you are from the States, a familiar reminder of home. Restaurants on-site were all fantastic, and the location for exploring Kyoto was ideal. Ace Hotels are always "hip" but in my experience they don't always deliver on the small details and service...the Kyoto Ace absolutely delivers in every way. If you want a 5 star experience but in with little less formal atmosphere, and a little more laid back vibe, you will not be disappointed with the Ace Hotel Kyoto.

Everything about our stay at this hotel was perfect. From the minute we walked in the door and checked in the staff were so friendly and accommodating and never not smiling. The rooms were spacious and clean, the gym was good, the bars and restaurants were great - room service too. They stored our bags overnight while we left to visit Naoshima. Can not fault this hotel one bit. Location is great. Everything is great. In Tokyo now but really I just want to be back in peaceful Kyoto and staying at the Ace again.

Room is cozy thanks to wood theme interior and charming guitar and record player set.

We loved our stay at Ace Hotel Kyoto. This brand new hotel offers very good service. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The best of Japanese and western hospitality. We are particularly grateful to Moe who was very professional and helpful during our stay. Many thanks !!

Probably one of the best hotels we’ve had the privilege of staying in. Past experience with chic, hip hotels ave been spoilt by arrogant and patronizing staff. Not here. All the staff couldn’t have been more approachable and friendly. We appreciated restaurant recommendations and the free umbrellas on our first rainy day. Best coffee shop in the lobby, great cocktail bar and taco bar. Gym and shopping mall with restaurants much appreciated. Oh, and the room was so well designed, comfortable and quiet. We will be back!

I’m loving this hotel. It’s just a 15-minute walk to Shijo. We booked two deluxe king rooms for three people, and they’re spacious enough to fit two suitcases each. The staff here are incredibly friendly, always sporting a smile and ready to lend a hand. The breakfast is delicious, and I also gave dinner at the same restaurant a try, which was equally enjoyable.

This is the absolutely perfect hotel for your stay in Kyoto! The rooms are big, comfortable, clean and absolutely beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. We ate at all 3 restaurants and while they’re all great, the Mexican restaurant was incredible! 10/10 recommend

Beautiful architecture, loved the style of the room and layout of the Historic King option, great bath products, extremely helpful and welcoming staff, perfect location with an escalator direct from the hotel to the two main subway lines, solid dining options, good entertainment in-room with Netflix, records and record player, and an acoustic guitar in the room. Probably my favorite hotel experience and we have stayed at and love the Ace New Orleans too!

The Ace Hotel in Kyoto is located in a prime location, making exploring the beautiful city easy. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a cool and sophisticated atmosphere that sat the tone for an unforgettable stay.

One of the standout features of the Ace Hotel is its incredibly friendly and efficient staff. Led by the exceptional manager, Kohei, whose warm welcome and genuine hospitality make guests feel like friends. Special mention to his four legged assistant (a super cute Chihuahua) that adds an extra touch of warmth to the hotel's ambiance.

The Tatami Suite, where my family of four stayed, was a haven of comfort and style. The traditional tatami flooring combined with modern amenities provided a unique and immersive experience.

Throughout our stay, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, from recommending local pois to arranging transportation. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence truly set the Ace Hotel apart.

In short our experience at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto was amazing. From the convenient location to the cool atmosphere and exceptional service, every aspect exceeded our expectations.

If you're looking for a truly memorable stay in Kyoto, you found the place.

Best stay ever! Modern and classic spacious size of room, very friendly front desk, easy high quality shopping downstairs, steps to station, free late checkout (when there is no other booking after), besides, the shampoo is so good. It’s so ‘open-minded’ to the public, you can really just enjoy you coffee and reading/studying/working/chatting in the open area with charger spots even if you are not a guest.

Great room, decoration, good service. Nice gym. A solid 4.5 star. It’s quiet and lively. I’d definitely recommend booking the bigger duplex rooms, almost 450sf, better value.

While the rooms are small, they are very functional and cozy. Great Location with a subway line just a few feet away. The vibes are right and it was definitely nice to come home to the Ace after a long day of exploring and shopping.

Also, the music piping through the building is top notch.

I stayed in a double bed room at Ace Hotel Kyoto from November 23rd to 26th, mainly to enjoy the autumn leaves. The hotel impressively blends modern luxury with traditional Japanese design. The room was spacious and elegantly minimalist, providing a comfortable haven after days spent leaf-viewing.

Service was exceptional, and the central location was ideal for exploring Kyoto's scenic beauty. The dining experience was a delightful fusion of local and international flavors.

The only downside, resulting in a 9 out of 10 score, is the high pricing, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious travelers.

Overall, Ace Hotel Kyoto offers a luxurious and culturally enriching stay, perfect for experiencing Kyoto's autumnal charm, albeit at a premium cost.

Location of Ace Hotel Kyoto is the best if you are thinking about taking public transportation to the attractions or wondering around the city center. What I liked the most about this hotel was the free rental tokyobike they offered, which allowed me to take further distance to see more about Kyoto.

The room is pretty good for young tourists. Cause it has styles. The interior decoration keeps old-fashioned and new-fashioned together. They put a vinyl turntable in your room to play some. You can have a good street view from the room, and the opening view is fantastic if it happens to be a good weather.

The staff at the front desk are nice and helpful. You can ask them to recommend the food, drink and places they love.

Really enjoy the cute branding design of the whole hotel.

BUT the breakfast and food offering in the hotel is just below average. Better try out the restauants nearby within 15mins walking distance if you can.

Stayed here for one day in 2023 and knew I had to come back for more. Made it a four-day stay this time and fell deeper in love. The interiors are modern and chic, and the hotel itself is directly above a train station and walkable to many city locations you'd want to check out. But what made it incredible was the service from the front desk. Two days before arriving, I asked if they could pull off any last minute restaurant reservations during Sakura season; shout-out to Hsieh, Nacho, Erik and the guy who checked us in (sorry I did not catch your name) for securing 3. I had also left my passport at my previous location and had it mailed to the hotel. They helped me track it and ensure it got safely to me. Of the four ACEs I have stayed at (here, LA, New York and London) this was BY FAR the best experience. 10/10 would stay again.

Enjoyed my stay at the Ace. Not too far from trains, local coffee shops & eats, and an enjoyable walk away from downtown happenings. Accommodations were very comfortable, and I thought having the on-site stumptown coffee shop was a nice bonus. Will stay here again.
