I stayed in the traditional Japanese room with my partner.

The service was excellent we felt very welcome and the staff gave excellent advice and recommendations for things to do and see around Kyoto. The staff also had a high standard of English and one particularly delightful gentlemen could also speak Italian.

Our room was a great size, was very neat and had particularly good bath/shower facilities in the room.

Ofcourse a major selling point is the onsen which is very clean, relaxing, well maintained and is strongly recommended.

Guests are given a useful guide if you have never used an onsen before, so there's no need to feel nervous if you're a first timer.

In summary our stay was so good we ended up extending our two-night stay to almost a week.

This hotel comes thoroughly recommended and the short distance to Kyoto station is an added bonus.

Best hotel I've been. The perfect hotel for those who wants onsen, but still wants to go sightseeing during the day.

Rooms are clean, a bit small but great service, you can do your laundry. Like all onsens there's facial toners, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner, combs provided complete with facial cotton. Located close to the Kyoto train and bus station. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really good service here. The rooms are cosy but if you have a lot of luggage, it might be a bit cramped. Otherwise, it has all the amenities one would need for a short trip inside the traditional city of Kyoto.

It is one of the few hot spring hotels in Kyoto. Although there's not much of a view from the rooms and the bathing area, being not too tall when compared to nearby buildings, but it makes up in interior design. The hotel itself has a traditional feel to it. The moment you walk inside, you feel as though you've left the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hotel is a 5-10 minutes walk from Kyoto station, eating out usually means returning back to Kyoto Station area for restaurant. There are a few local restaurants nearby but don't expect them to know much English. The staff at the hotel though, they're actually really nice and helpful.

One must not forget the traditional breakfast on offer, they have this special plum water drink (served in the morning) that's really good for detox. You might think, "well, it's only preserved plum with water" but the water is actually got spring water and the plum is local (I think they preserve it themselves) and you might not like the taste at first, but stay a few mornings and you'll feel your appetite has actually improved because of it.

Very conveniently located near the Kyoto station. Clean and quite spacious, considering it is Japan. Very friendly staff.

The best thing is the onsen on the 8th floor.

Awesome price. Great rooms. Close to the heart of the city. I chose this hotel not even realizing how close to the train station it was. Super convenient. The bus stops right out front or across the street depending where you are going. The check in process was super speedy. The receptionist spoke amazing English. This was the deal of the century for me. Will definitely use this for any future Kyoto visits.

Absolutely lovely hotel. There is a hot spring on the top level and even a little garden. Although the room is small compare to most hotels in the states or Canada but in Japan, it seems quite big, even bigger than average. I had a lovely experience here. Note that the wifi is not the fastest and it can only be used in your hotel roomm

3 Stars but deserves at least 4. The onsen is amazing. It has been recently refurbished, everything is brand new. Breakfast is Japanese-style, which is healthy but very different from what we are used to in the West.

Large, clean room. Traditional Japanese style. Far more charm than "fancier" hotels. Great staff!

Not saying it's a 5 star hotel but it's 5 stars for what it is. Conveniently located, clean, bright, nice rooms, fine staff. Can't go wrong.
