Hotel Ninja Black - Kyoto Gosho West

Suddenly, we arrived at night with three kids without a prior booking. The staff welcomed us without any complaints and offered a very good, affordable rate. The hospitality was excellent, and one staff member, Vicky, was particularly kind.

This hotel was a lot of fun. The room was the biggest we have had in Japan to date. It was very clean and I love the shower. The back of the door does have a little ninja on it that has scared me once or twice. I have loved the experience here and would defiantly recommend it. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station but it is worth it. It even has a little garden out back which is beautiful.

The park is close, running sushi was a bit far away as the city centre, but the area is very nice and quiet. And the bed was so comfy, the staff was kind and the price was ok (but the city tax is never included, be aware)

Stayed here for 2 nights. Fast check-in. Really good staff. Indoors they have a drinks vending machine and a sitting area where you can borrow books in English or Japanese. There is also a garden with a couple of tables.

The room is clean and relatively spacious. The rooms and the hotel have a ninja theme, which is definitely fitting. In the area, there are a few convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants, and the hotel is close to Imperial Palace. The metro is about an 8-minute walk away, which is reasonable.

Also, this hotel is in a residential area, so you get a chance to experience how it is to live outside of tourist areas. Recommended.

Cool little hotel with a ninja concept. Rooms are relatively new and the place is clean and full of great decor. It's a bit of a way from the nearest train station but it is located in a nice, quiet residential area for those who don't mind a bit of a walk.

Cozy rooms but does the trick if you're just needing a room for 3 to sleep in with a cool ninja theme

great rooms! the bed was big, soft and comfy! i really love the style, especially that hidden door ! its super cool. at the back out the tiny garden is nice and quiet .

Come for the cool Ninja themes, stay for the comfortable beds and super clean rooms! This is a non smoking hotel so no risk of stale smoke smells like you can get elsewhere. We would recommend!

This is a new hotel (opened March 2019 I think) that is tastefully decorated. The staff have been super friendly and the beds have been the most comfortable that we have experienced yet in Japan. The room is small but efficient. I would pay for the breakfast which was a nice salad with fruit, yogurt and bread. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area with some restaurants but you may need to head out of the area if you are looking for something in particular to eat. The hotel is very close to the Imperial Palace Gardens if you need a bit of piece and quiet from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hotel is really amazing, The staff is very nice and friendly and always willing to help you. I really enjoyed my staying and I'm totally satisfied.
I highly recommend and if I visit Kyoto again, definitely I'll stay here again!! :)

Really excellent value for money. It’s super clean and has extremely quiet rooms. I’ve rarely slept so well in a hotel room. The rooms are a good size and staff really great. It’s a 7 minute walk to nearest bus stop with buses running direct from Kyoto station and taking about half an hour. So yes it’s not right on top of a station but for that you are staying somewhere quite residential and quiet.

Amazing place, the Ninja theme is very good and slick. It's also very peacefully. Bath is big and it has air-conditioning on the room.

Such a nice place to rest after visit Imperial Palace! Everything clean, new, staff very helpful and talk an english very well, and.... atmosphere of NINJAAAA!!! you can feel it right after step inside!

Excellent value for money: spacious, comfortable beds, clean, and located in a quiet neighbourhood. Near a wide green open space. Helpful and friendly staff.

If I could give Hotel Ninja Black more stars I definitely would. The hotel is very modern, sleek and very clean. Our room was spacious, clean and very quiet. It was definitely the best place we have stayed in during our two week vacation in Japan!

The staff here are the real highlight! Ching was EXTREMELY helpful! She made so many phone calls for us trying to help us get reservations and help me try to recover some lost property of mine. We knew before coming to Japan that the locals were very nice, but Ching went above and beyond! Thank you Ching!

The one caveat to Hotel Ninja Black is that it is a bit far from public transportation but nothing that’s beyond a 10-15 minute walk.

Brand new hotel (we stayed the first week they were open). You like the color black? You like clean modern design? You like F*CKIN NINJAS? ME TOO. For real though do it. Favorite hotel of my 6 hotel Japan trip.
