Very lucky to chance upon this hidden gem in a back alley. Excellent sake from Kanto region, loved the intimate atmosphere and the chat with the friendly and witty owner.

This place is a little hard to find on your first visit. If you take the metro, take exit b3, walk right out of the exit, go right at the first corner, and then there is an alleyway on your right. If they are open, there will be a sign on the street. Go halfway down the alley, and it's beside Lupin bar. Go downstairs.
There is very limited seating here. About 10 seats?
The lady serving us only works on Mondays, she was very nice and friendly and gave us a good tasting.
We tried 4 different sakes, and each of us found one we preferred.
It is a cool place and worth a visit if in the area.

This quiet little place is a room with a bar, and a passionate and knowledgeable sake lover serving great sake from the Kanto region (around Tokyo). He has what you would normally expect in the various sake grades, cold or warm as you wish or as he recommends. He has some really special nigori. But the best of all is that he has a yamahai sake you can drink now in the usual form, and it has also been aged at the brewery; he has a vertical of this koshu (aged sake) spanning the years 1974 through 2008 (in the photos it is the small bottles going the length of the shelf). Some of you can even taste from your birth years. It's great to taste how the sake changes from young to old and it is worth the money to try it because the experience of koshu at this level of depth is impossible to find outside of Japan, and rare in Japan. I highly recommend this place. It is a sake lover's paradise!

From the speakeasy downstairs sliding door entrance to the retro forward music cascading slightly while being presented mainland hand selected 🍶 this is what I envisioned for a Sake bar. The owner is passionate and explains each bottle. I preferred the cold but his hot traditional recommendation has me reconsidering.

Experience - 5/5
Ambience & Music - 5/5
Please Go!

Wonderful little sake bar. Owner and atmosphere both have a really cool vibe. Some of the sake is a bit peculiar/unique but he is up front about that and will guide you to something you will like and it is particularly good if you want to try something different or specific. I really like nigori and he has several very good ones. The owner is nice and personable and clearly passionate about his sake. Great, memorable experience, would recommend it to others for sure!

We came across this small and cute sake bar and it was an amazing experience.
Tiya the bartender was very nice to share his passion and knowledge with us. We loved all the sake we tasted. Definitely a nice place to enjoy sake from Kanto region.
Will definitely visit again the next time we are in Tokyo.

A wonderful experience!
If you love sakè this is 100% worth a visit.

It’s a small bar, 10 seats max, so I recommend booking in advance. The booking is done in Japanese but Google translate will help. Make sure you tell them you’re English speaking so they can prepare the correct menus for you.
Please keep in mind that the owner doesn’t speak much English but tries very hard, he also uses an app to translate.

When we arrived we received a set menu of 5 sakè and 5 pairing snacks, like olives, Brie, chocolate etc. all designed to pair perfectly with the sakè we tried.

The sakè was delicious and it was a wonderful menu! We had everything from sparkling sakè to hot sakè and we had a choice of two for each category. Each sakè was a perfecr recommendation and the owner is very passionate about sakè.

As a couple that loves sakè this was an amazing experience, thank you so much for having us.

P.S the bar can be a little hard to find, don’t worry! It’s down an alleyway and next to bar lupin.

Great little sake bar (12 seats). Our little bit of Japanese went a long way with the very friendly - and knowledgeable - bartender.

All the sakes are from the Kanto region and all have a different story. This is a great place for couples with a bit of sake knowledge, looking for some region specific experience.

We will be back!

Great ambience and sake. In an alley down a winding set of stairs.

Owner speaks a bit of english and is quite funny. Enjoyed his recommendation (osusume).

This place is a hidden gem! Such a cool intimate vibe. We sat down and let Tiya the owner decide what we should drink. We started with our first ever sparkling sake which was delicious, and 1 more each after that. He explained where they came from and you can tell it’s his passion and a fun way to practice his English. Really felt like an authentic experience with a local!!

We didn’t see any prices and ended up paying about $50 usd for 4 drinks and some water haha so I guess we had the nice stuff. But we enjoyed it nevertheless;)

Fantastic sake selection in a lovely space hosted by a very knowledgeable and kind bartender, Sonny. Came back on our trip before we left to see her again - it was a highlight of our trip to Japan.

We happened to come across this delightful sake bar on our last night in Tokyo. Our only regret is that we didn’t find it sooner. The selection was excellent and the bartender was very helpful in having us sample different sakes. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.
