This is a lovely park with a full greenhouse and panoramic views of the city. Such a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle. I really enjoyed the greenhouse where the temperatures were tropical even though there was snow on the ground outside. I came out in a perfect time in February where all of the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. This place was easy to navigate and had maps in many different languages. Highly recommend going to the visitor center and learning more about the national parks of Japan

Beautiful garden. Visited in mid-February 2024 and cherry blossoms were starting to bloom. Grass lawns were yellow though. Lots of people and young families come here to picnic or eat lunch on benches or grass lawns. There’s a student and senior discount on tickets too (250 yen versus regular 500 yen price).

Gorgeous garden in the middle of the busy city. we came during early November, and the trees haven’t turned yellow or orange yet, still mostly green. But it is very calm. Tickets were 600 I think and cheaper if you are student or seniors. The garden is huge, but the map is understandable and easily comprehended.

At the heart of the city is this park great for a nice walk through nature. A great place to also take pictures. The garden is also a great place to see Sakura trees bloom if you guys are around the Sakura season. During the sakura seasons, it may be a bit crowded so would recommend going in the morning when it opens.
There is a cover charge fee to enter the garden like around $5 USD. You can also pay with your SUICA card. There are restrooms placed throughout the garden. Overall, this place is very well maintained, highly recommend.

Great gardens especially in autumn. It’s not free, which is annoying for what should be a public garden. But the ticket fee is nominal, and it is more than worth it. There is a tropical-like greenhouse with beautiful flowers inside. Outside there are colorful trees and lots of grass for picnics and some ponds.
There sometimes are night lighted events for 5-10x the daytime price, at certain times of the year.

Visited on 2023/11/21. Although I’ve been in Tokyo for so many time but it is my first time being here. This is such a wonderful place to stay and I really don’t want to leave. Grassland, trees, flowers, rivers and it is just in the central of downtown. You can take a breathe indeed and no need to take long time for traffic. I did enjoy the sunlight and also had some tea and snack here. It is a pity that I can’t wait for the “NAKED” event. I’ll definitely go back and enjoy the changes of different seasons.

Beautiful garden in the middle of busy Tokyo. I love everything even though I visited it in a cloudy day during winter. I found my inner peace there, peaceful time. Would definitely love to come back to see how it is seasonally

Beautiful botanical garden in the heart of Shinjuku. Great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo if they city has been wearing you down. If you plan on coming more than 4 times per year, invest in the annual passport, which only costs 2000 yen vs. 500 yen per entrance. There is a huge amount of an open lawn. There's a lovely greenhouse (great for warming up in the winter) with well labeled plants. Even in winter, there were things blooming, and fliers are provided to show you what is blooming, and where.

A huge beautiful garden that makes for a great backdrop to any activity or photo. I'm a bit sad work took me there during winter where nothing was really alive, but we were lucky enough to catch a few early blossoming cherries 🌸 I also added our NOLA star to the map!

I visited the park 3x, twice at spring and once at very late winter. Surprisingly the park was beautiful in every of my visit.

In spring, the park full with old cherry blossom, the trees full with flower until its bench so low so you can take pictures by just standing near it.

In late winter, the park full with ginkgo and momiji, their yellow and red make the park very very beautiful

A beautiful park to visit - we came here on our first day in Japan, with very heavy jet lag after a long haul flight, and experiencing quite a bit of sensory overload when landing in Tokyo for the first time, walking around the park gave the calm and quietness that we definitely needed at that point. There are lots of areas to walk around, all with different varieties in trees, woodland, shrubs and greenery, as well as some benches to sit.

We also visited on our last day here! I would highly recommend the greenhouse area with lots of tropical plants.

One of the most beautiful parks during cherry blossom season. Absolutely stunning during that time. There is a large selection of different cherry tree species and most plants have small labels.
I can recommend having tea and some sweets in the tea house in the center of the garden.

Very peaceful very big island of greenery and tranquility in the center of the city. I leisurely spend their 4 hours and regret nothing. Heidi suggested to come in the cherry blossom time but regardless it's still beautiful. Do know that there's a small cover charge to get into the park

Very nice park in Tokyo, with well arranged garden sections and nice place to enjoy a bit of green area in the city. Entrance through gates. Fee 500 yen. Inside you will find winter garden, rose garden, Japanese garden and also areas just to have your picnic. I went on Sunday and locals were enjoying their day in the park, but there was plenty of space and seating too. Starbucks and another cafeteria inside the park too. You can still hear the city around, for example airplanes flying over, but you can also feel the green areas and relax here.

Beautiful place amid 新宿 and you can find a moment of peace here.

The park contains a well maintained grassland. Whether just sit here and enjoy the calmness, picnic or lay down, it was just so comfortable. Fresh air, tall trees for pics, and you can easily find a coffee for a rest. It’s a very nice place to wind down.

While you need to pay to enter this park, it offers an extremely photogenic circular path around the rectangular park. You get to go through a few different areas of flora. I’d say it’s certainly worth it.

Also, they have some of the most premium public bathrooms in the world; some of them had bidets with sound effects.

There were at least two entrances to the park, on the southwest side, and at the northwest corner.

A paid to enter park, if you enjoy beautifully landscaped Japanese gardens, this is a must-visit. It's popular yet large enough to host people strolling as well as those passing time enjoying the grass and garden areas.

You should grab a copy of the map at the entrance and explore the different areas, including gates, ponds, bridges, lookout pavillions, bonsai trees, and greenhouse.

It's easy to spend a lot of time here, and it's really nice to spend some time in this well-kept piece of nature in busy Tokyo. There's drink vending machines, some places that serve food, and a tea house in the grounds if you don't bring your own.

One of the most beautiful, picturesque and well manicured garden I visited.
The entrance cost 500 Yen for the whole day.
The greenhouse has a wide range of Flora.
Well worth spending a few hours strolling through the garden, having lunch on the lawn in the shade of a tree.

Exquisite place to visit. It opens at 9 am and costs 500 yen, which you can pay with your IC card if you need. The place is gorgeous and it’s easy to spend an hour here for a quick visit, or a full day if you want to bring a picnic and lounge around. It’s a fun place to people watch and soak up the beautiful scenery.
