Best beer selection in the area. Loved the pork and roast chicken. Blueberry tart is a must.

Lovely little bar with seating for about 20. Small food menu but some spectacular beers. Must do the barrel aged tasting!

Amazing food and craft beer. We ended up ordering two entrées each and two desserts, each just because everything was so good not because the portions were small. Super small venue but very personal.

On the way up, the mountain to visit the snow monkeys is The Farm House. A good selection of beers. The fried chicken and potato wedges were delicious! Great place to stop after visiting the snow monkeys.

Awesome lunch. Both the roasted and fried chicken were delicious. The egg soup was also very good.

Good restaurant with a range of locally brewed craft beers on tap. The lunch menu includes a quarter roast chicken. The service is quick and friendly. A price of a half pint of beer is discounted at lunch. Closed on Mondays, unless a holiday.

Be aware that the smallest portion roasted chicken is a small portion if you have a normal appetite. Would definitely order the largest portion and a side if you’re sharing it with someone else.

Do, by far the best beer I've had in Japan. Don't know if it matters, but I make my own beer in the U.S. for fun. My favorite was the imperial stout, very smooth, and rich in flavor. Staff absolutely amazing and had a good time.

This place is perfect! Wonderful selection of beer and sake, cute and cozy seating, beautiful views outside, and polite service. Our food was high quality, well portioned and delicious. They have a great selection of local beers and a wide range on tap.

A lovely place to relax, enjoy some craft beer and some wicked food after a visit to see the Monkees. It’s been really exciting to see what the Japanese are introducing into the world of craft beer and this establishment along with its Brewery down the road, had some great offers. I particularly liked their efforts with introducing a drink. That is a combination of both sake and beer.. their “Nigori” style… it was really great. I think that had some great Saison styles too!

Fantastic beer. Very good food. Spicy dumplings were tasty and had a bit of a kick. Karaage was juicy and well seasoned. Onion rings came in a generous portion and were nicely battered and not greasy. Great service. Beautiful building with spacious seating. They also have a large variety of bottled beer and sake from local brewery.

Only tried a few things, count custard want really sweet or coconut enough but mango on to was good, French fries were mediocre at best.

Your probably reading this thinking this sounds like a star review and your be right EXCEPT the gargonzola cheesecake was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Again it want to sweet and id find a way to add a little sweetness but still very good.

Go here if for nothing else but to try it

If you've trekked this far and come to see the snow monkeys, then make sure and stop at The Farmhouse. They are the restaurant and tap bar for Tamamura Honten Brewery who make Shiga Kogen craft beer.

The food is delicious and the beer selection is even better. They make their own hot sauce which is flavorful.

The best place to enjoy Shiga Kogen beer on ta p. Food is tasty. Price is acceptable. You can buy bottles for take away as well. Accept credit card over ¥3,000.

Delightful restaurant and bar run by one of the best craft beer breweries in the world. It's a lovely space, and the service was friendly, and patient with our basic Japanese. The menu was in English. The beer was delicious and interesting. The menu the day we went didn't have any vegetarian entrées. But the fries were perfectly prepared and came in a generous portion. I really enjoyed our quick beer and snack here and would definitely come back again if I were in the area.

All around wonderful local hangout - we used it as a refuge from the snowy cold. Staff are amazing. Food was excellent. Selection of local beer was so good. Would highly highly recommend.

Very good restaurant, also good local beer! I can really recommend the deserts - banana bread with ice cream and hot apple juice!
