Nitta Bakery

Really nice and small coffee place, for getting a sweet or savoury breakfast to go.
There are some chairs outside, but it's more really a "to-go" thingy.
The things we chose were amazing - super tasty; and the service was really friendly and polite
The coffee was actually also pretty good, compared also to what we were expecting in Japan - I strongly recommend it.

Simply amazing. Although I took an hour to walk from the city centre to and fro, Nitta Bakery is a place you shouldn't miss when in Kyoto. Enjoyed the crisp exterior and fluffiness within the croissant and their fresh curry pan just made the experience even better. Order these two and you won't regret it.

Very small store, but they offer a variety of bread, pastries, and sandwiches. Their croissants are by far their best and most popular item, though their baguette is also soft on the inside with a perfect, chewy crust, and sells out rather quickly. They don’t have indoor seating, but the Kamo River is a short walk away, and ideal for picnics.

I have found the best croissants ever in whole Japan. 😭❤ Super crispy and yummy. This store opens at 8.00 am in the morning and people are lined up. The store has very kind and talented ladies working. It was very nice to see this side of Gion.

This is an incredible little bakery. We had a croissant, a hand pie, white chocolate, macadamia nut, Earl, Gray biscuit, and a bacon cheese and sun-dried tomato bun. All were very good.

Delicious curry bread and chocolate croissant. And super sweet and attentive staff. I stayed nearby and went on 3 consecutive mornings!

This lovely, little bakery was just around the corner from our hotel. We stopped by for an afternoon sweet. Husband got a cinnamon donut and added vanilla ice cream to make it an ice cream sandwich. It was the best thing we got there! Also got a red sweet bean donut and a maple walnut scone. The bakery also has savory baked goods and sandwiches.

Fantastic little bakery in the heart of Kyoto. We were craving some breakfast goodies and were so impressed by the food here. Lucky for us the bread has little english tags. I got a mushroom cheese bread, a chocolate pastry, and a bacon mushroom sandwich. All were phenomenal. Very good service.

Fantastic little bakery, croissant was delicious. Olive and cheese baguette was cooked to perfection. Great food and cute little shop. Worth the visit !

Fantastic neighborhood bakery! Great vibe playing classic jazz. And of course the baked goods are great; try the savory curry bun, three cheese bun. There are sandwiches and loaves of bread, lots of great things to try!

Delicious sweet and savory items. Everything seems to be made fresh and in house. The prices are reasonable ($$). This bakery is take-out only (no seating). It’s located off the Main Street.

Love this bakery so much. Good selections about croissants and others! Huge recommend bread lovers to visit and enjoy this vibe and have some delicious breads. :-)

Our hotel was around the corner from this delightful bakery. We have been in Kyoto for some time and I have come to really look forward to Friday mornings when they open. They are only open F, Sa and Sun and that is a good thing or I would weight 300lbs. Everything is so tasty. The croissants are better than ones I have had in Paris. The baguettes are crusty and the breakfast rolls are really something special. There will Iikely be line outside when you go as the place is very small. It is worth the line.

I think this is my favorite bakery in the world. The bacon and perilla mini epi loaf and the earl grey and chestnut swirl bread are not to be missed if you’re visiting this fall season. We have gone three days and a row. Really would fly back just for this bakery.

By far one of the BEST bakeries in every bite in any country we have been to. It was SUPERB!!

One of the best croissants I've ever had, in any country. Buttery but not heavy, crispy just right. My only regret is that I've found it on our last day in Kyoto, I would have got them every morning

My god was this delicious. Best red bean bun ever. So fresh.

Wonderful little bakery. No seats so we took our food back to our hotel. The baguette with red bean and butter was incredible!!

Didn't get to try everything unfortunately, but tried to go as much as possible. Everything was so good and perfectly baked. Really liked the sausage bread and salmon basil cream sandwich!
