Bic Camera JR Kyoto Station

Perhaps a bit over-priced but it could also be due to how this store is tax free and located next to the Kyoto station, a super touristy spot.

Multiple floors of not only camera equipment, but everything you could want from drug store, bedding, alcohol (large selection of wine and beers,) bicycles, glasses, video games, computers and beauty supplies.

Escalators right when you walk in take you up to the various floors, packed with items to check out.

I got a new glass screen for my phone, it was ¥1420. Couldn't find a waterproof case for my iPhone 7 but that's okay. I also got a beer 😊

Tons of watches and clocks on the 4th floor. Top floor has a bunch of keyboards and a grand hybrid piano.

Came in looking for used camera gear but didn't see anything. Specifically looking for old film cameras. The previous reviews on this place said there would be lots of used cameras, not a great place to sell cameras but a good place to buy used ones. I couldn't find any.

With the available supplies you can create your own darkroom.

Film is pricey, Ilford BnW 3200 is about ¥1500.

Saw signs for BitCoin, I think they take that currency.

If you want something delivered to the airport for pickup later, you can have that arranged.

Purchased tourist prepaid SIM cards here on 2nd floor near the cashier. They had eSIMs and SIM cards. We had trouble finding them at other stores or convenience stores. Highly recommend.

Excellent store, massive selection, good prices, all the Japanese brands including VAIO, a lot of made in Japan products. Great store. Rember to bring your passport if you want to buy tax free. If you find something cheaper in the internet from Japan, they will match the price. Just ask. Excellent store.

Conveniently located literally right next to Kyoto Station! Of course, tax free shopping is available and for those of you who are visiting from Korea, they were having a promotion during February-March of 2023 (not sure if it was temporary) where you would receive an additional 5% discount if you pay with KakaoPay.

Very convenient for some last minute shopping before continuing your journey in Japan. It's somehow hidden behind the station but there are several floors of quality goods. If you're visiting from overseas just keep your passport handy to benefit from tax free shopping.

Many items there! There is a very small retro games section, unfortunately did not have DS games that I was looking for, but they have a wide variety of newer games available in the top floor.

the 6th floor home appliance is especially well furnished reasonably price with a great sales team that give trustworthy advices. I never shop of consumer electronics anywhere else anymore.

Great electronic store. I'm visiting Japan and needed a hair dryer and straightener and found both with no problem.

Friendly staff. Know Chinese, poor English. A lot of good to shop includes food and wine.
The staff told me that the product I was looking for went up for 2000 yen. She suggested me to wait for a few more days before making a final purchase. Very nice and friendly.

Accidentally bump into this store when I was lost trying to find a way to Kyoto Station. Lots of interesting stuffs and snacks to buy at the first floor. They have electronics and gadget accessories on second floor. The employees are cheerful and polite, one of them helped me find my way to the station with minimal (but understandable) English.

Has pretty much everything fit camera apart from phase one 100MP... Seriously is a good camera shop. If your into film photography a smaller independent shop would be better, but for digital photography this is a good shop.

Impressive electronic shop for gadget aficionados. One can spend hours wondering among the vast selection of electronics they have on display.

Tip: Treat yourself to free massages at one of the massage chairs available for trials on the 5th floor 😉
