Animate Kyoto

I bought a bunch of manga to bring back home as gifts. They also had a perfume section where you can buy the fragrance of your favorite anime character 😂

Really spectacular place, a must-visit for anime/manga fans. There are plenty of gacha machines front of the shop. The staff was helpful, even though my Japanese is limited.

The only Animate store in Kyoto as far as I know. Same huge selection and awesome customer service like in Tokyo. The only difference being the absent crowds, making the Kyoto store much much more comfortable to shop at. It is a bit hidden so watch for the stairs up and gatcha mahines.

Huge selection of books and other anime related products. Worth a visit.

Perfect place for current anime/manga series. There isn't that much older anime series merchandise, but I understand why they don't have it.

Not as big as shops in Akihibara but I found mostly what I needed.

Full of mainstream anime. Has a lot of merchandise on its selection though it is quite pricy

On the second floor. Great selection! Not as crowded as the Osaka branch; we couldn’t even shop at the Osaka branch without winning some kind of lottery to enter.

Lots of adults and youths patronise the shop. Worth going if you are looking for unique merchandise for popular anime and manga characters

A gorgeous store and a must-visit for any Anime fan visiting Kyoto. All items here are new, so expect to pay cover price for CDs, DVDs, manga, and more. Unlike many Animate stores, this one is all on one floor and they seemed to be a little more than half the girls-focused products rather than boys. Good for me but maybe not for everyone else. This store is located right inside Nishiki Market, so it's easy to visit while checking out dozens of other shops of all kinds.

Doesn't even compare with the 9 floor one in Akihabara, but it's full with merch of the latest anime/manga series as well as old ones. More often than not you can find the entire series for sale. Excellent.

A must visit if you're in search of any kind of manga, anime or any kind of related merchandise product. A lot of choice, friendly and helpful staff, very nice and cozy atmosphere. Easy to drop by for a quick look when you're around shopping in the area.

I found Conan and Dragon Ball comics. Very nice shop.

Located on the second floor. Manga as far as the eye can see! Had other products associated with new and some old animes. Didn't have products for all the current season's animes but was pretty well stocked on other products.

The manga collection is always updated and the collection is huge! There is also a large selection of anime memorabilia! Great place to shop!

Amazing place for weebs/otakus. A wide variety of comics and art books but there are no figurines. Most of the content is in Japanese.

Great place to buy some merchandise but all the manga is in japanese of course. But if that's alright with you than this place is great
