BOOKOFF PLUS Kawaramachi OPA Store

Lots of stuff at this BOOKOFF location, on the higher quality end for a "thrift" store due to it's location at the top of a nicer department store area. Limited selection of video games if you're game hunting, but plenty of model figures, books, DVDs, BluRay, and trading cards. They also have a large clothing section at this location and everything looked far nicer than most thrift stores back home.

You'll likely not find any massively rare hidden gems at this spot because it's in a very heavily traveled part of town but it is a nice shop.

This is on the 8F of a building access via a lift.
This branch was filled with character goods, clothing, games, books and DVDs and many a good item found here.

Found some plushies that were being sold next door at full price that were almost 50% cheaper. It’s not that busy and really felt like you could take the time to go through the stock

Looking for manga? This is the shop. Want the old stuff too like Rurouni Kenshin or Inuyasha? Yep, they've got it. They've got new stuff too like Demon Slayer and Spy Family. They have whole volume sets as well at irresistible prices, but I wasn't going to be able to fit all that in my luggage hahah. If you're into figurines they've got that too. The ones that were in display cases were quite expensive, but the ones on the shelves were priced pretty well. They've also got trading cards. I'm not good on gaging prices on those, so I can't say if they're a deal or not. I bought one of the Demon Slayer volumes for 110 yen. This place might be advertised as a used goods store, but I went up and down all of the manga aisles multiple times and let me tell you they were all in such good condition that I couldn't tell. Some of the volumes come neatly plastic wrapped. Have a look at the photo yourself, that's the price with tax. Compared to all the manga shops I saw in Akihabara, this store beats them all in selection and price.

A huge selection of second hand Games, Anime stuff, books, etc, etc, on 8 floors, helpful staff. They buy and sell so the stock is constantly changing.

BOOKOFF PLUS is an absolute treasure chest full of cheap secondhand toys, books, and CDs in a very accessible area of Kyoto. I would go every week here to see what kind of goodies I can find! If you're willing to dig, you're bound to find cheap treasures!!

I love this place, I've been visit this place twice. The book's collections are so many and very cheap, unfortunately they are available only Japanese but I bought some for souvenir. Not only books they sell various games, especially for Switch. My hubby found rare Pokemon's game and they are very cheap compare to the other place. I hope I can visit another time.

Ahh, the BookOff site of pilgrimage! So many books, so much off. Gobs of otaku figures too. I found many tamagotchis. Also there's clothes here. And video games, I think. I browsed for 19 hours.

The best place in Kyoto for Manga and for Manga figurines. Buy whole Manga series as sets. In Japanese but you can translate with a phone nowadays.

Nice and big store with lots of Anime goodness, got an album I have been searching for and a price figurine for 350 yen.
Very nice staff that even knew English. They also gave us extra plastic bags to protect the merch from rain.

It's super clean and organized. Staff is nice and helpful.
They have a lot of pre-owned items that are still in good condition. You can find things from video game systems to manga to even clothes and shoes. It did seem all the clothes was just for men because c I didn't find any for ladies. But the men's items are nice and smell clean even though it's pre-owned.
Many of the figurings had their original packaging. There were even trading cards to look through.

A pretty decent size second hand shop that has a bit of everything from manga, games, DVDs, anime stuff and even clothes. If you are looking for something and are under a budget this shop and other bookoff shops are worth a visit

Great shop to buy second hand books, manga, movies, music and so on. Very broad selection. Everything was in Japanese which I sadly do not understand. If you understand Japanese this is the place to go to buy cheap stuff. If you do not inderstand, you can buy some manga as souvenir or something :)

Amazing service, great selection of pop culture second hand memorabilia and actual useful stuff. Great prices as well. We were shopping there for over 90 minutes and it felt like 30.
