KOːHIːKAN (Coffee Kan) - Higashihonganji-mae, Kyoto

Waited about 15 minutes to be seated, but they were not busy. There were plenty of tables open. I think they were short staffed. We sat down and ordered, and they told us about 30 mins for our pancakes. We waited, and it was worth it. Very delicious!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Our group had Hot Cakes probably 4 times during the week we stayed in Kyoto in July 2023. The menu wasn't in English, but it was very easy ordering with "understandable" Japanese and pointing at the items we wanted. The staff were very friendly. We look forwards to having Hot cake here again <3

Who be puttin red beans in their macha green tea smoothie? I ain’t complaining though. The pancakes were good! Not soufflé pancakes but still awesome for breakfast.

This is a great place to stop if you're looking for a good breakfast! The dishes are all well prepared and they taste amazing. An English menu is available. I ordered the Toast & Boiled Egg set with orange juice, and their breakfast toast is some of the best I've ever had, and the orange juice was even better!

It was a pleasant surprise to me. I saw the rating of 3.8, I thought it wasn't that good and yet it was too cold outside and I wanted to go to a place to chill and it was near, hence I went there. Order their 炭火コーヒーand their栗モンブラン and it's nice, especially the coffee. And I was sitting at the seat facing the temple, while reading my japanese learning material, nice vibe.

Surprisingly nice roasted hot and iced coffee with delicious pancake, pork tonkatsu curry rice. The location is near to Kyoto station too. Highly recommended.

Our 2nd visit to this lovely cafe. They served outstanding hot cakes. Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. We had the original hotcakes with butter on our 1st visit and we decided on their special promotion for the strawberry hotcakes. Equally delicious. Fresh strawberry cream and the fresh strawberry were tart and sweet at the same time.

We also ordered the Toast and Scambled Eggs set. The bread was soft and fluffy. Scrambled eggs cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed our breakfast!

Spot on scrambled egg and toast . Cheap as chips and tasty as anything. Worth a stop and sample the breakfasts while waiting for train or bus from Kyoto

Cute coffee shop and restaurant near Kyoto station. Friendly staff and clean. Don’t expect an American size breakfast, and the coffee is excellent.

I ordered Ethiopian mocha and it was so good also ordered the limited time mont blan pancake and it was soo good , they said it will take 10-15 min to make the pancake (so you know its good) they were fluffy and not too much

Breakfast of champions before a busy day of walking. Food came out fast and everything was delicious. The gratin bread and sandwich bread is freshly baked. The hot cakes were fluffy and doughy. Interesting coffee brewing method is a must see. Also, staff is attentive.

This is a very nice cafe with yummy spicy fish roe pasta. Their pancake is delicious too. It is a chillaxing place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee to end a wonderful day.

Great morning menu ~ came here almost every morning ~ not too expensive and there is separation for smoking and non smoking so we were having great time in non smoking part ~ pancake are good and scramble egg too with toast are perfect if you want a light but salty morning breakfast ~

Recommend the latte with matcha (and a huge dollop of cream) - oh my days. My new favourite drink. They said the pancakes would take 15 mins, but they were much faster and so delicious.

We went here 2 times because it was so delicious. We translated the menu with Google Translate app and no trouble with it after that. Food is very good. They have a smoking section, which is unfortunate for the smell, but otherwise it is good.

Fantastic hot coffee, enjoy, and pay later. Relax no hurry. Music might be a bit too loud.

Our favorite breakfast in Kyoto! Sandwich and coffee were very tasty, and the ambience was very relaxed! Not too crowded like the Ogawa coffee, comfortable and spacious seating, and Classical music playing in background :)

The pancakes here are very soft, light, and fluffy. The special iced coffee drinks here are also very good and perfect on a hot summer day.

Great food. Recommended by trip advisor. By the cross junction. Walk into basement. Opens at 1130 am. Wide variety of sashimj and cooked meat dishes and bentos sets. Good ambience and service. Highly recommended.
