HOTEL SHE, KYOTO

I stayed with my girlfriend for sightseeing on 19-21 March.
The room is nicely painted and furnished. It has a record player, with which you can play ones from the rack in the lobby.
The concept of this hotel will remind you of the 80’s… So cozy.
One more thing, you can get a free ice cream per night. My favourite is Gorgonzola one.

We chose to stay at Hotel She during our visit to Kyoto around Christmas, last year. It’s a kilometre’s walk from Kyoto station and the nearest subway station is some 350m away from the hotel. So I wouldn’t say it’s conveniently located near public transit options. However, it’s in the quieter part of Kyoto so if you don’t mind that, you’ll enjoy your stay here.

Their rooms are comfy and spacious unlike many other hotels. We chose a room with kitchenette and it was well equipped to allow us to cook our own meals. They provide good quality bathing amenities. The rooms have a vinyl record player which adds a great touch to the aesthetics of the place.

The common area is very cosy and a good spot to relax if you wish to get out of your room but not go outside. They serve free snacks and drinks every evening and two scoops of ice cream every day!

I’d definitely love to stay here again, whenever I visit Kyoto next.

When you see the lobby hotel, it feels like you enter a warm and enjoyable area. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The room's size is sufficient for two people and they provide basic amenities. Access to train and bus is easy, there are several station around the hotel. You can play vinyl in your room and you will get a complementary ice cream every day. Its a good experience staying in this hotel.

Lovely hotel with turntables and vinyl records on request, the hotel look I so chick. Rooms are comfy, clean and very affordable. The staff is so friendly, helpful and speak English! The even have free ice cream and my favourite japanese gin from Kyoto! They got me! ❤

I booked this hotel for my very first time in Japan and loved it. The aesthetics of the hotel are amazing. It feels very 80's and the free ice cream is a plus! The staff is great and speaks English good enough. While I was out they always refreshed my towels and garbage without me needing to ask them. Great place to stay in Kyoto! Nice and close to Kyoto station as well (~10 min walk).

Really enjoyed our stay here, whilst it's slightly pricey, the rooms were quiet, a good size, clean and the staff were super helpful.
The walls are quite thin, so you may hear other residents taking a shower or talking. This wasn't a problem since everyone was quiet!

I really enjoyed my stay here with my partner. It was such cool vibes and so many little details in the hotel. I loved the vinyls that you can rent and play in your room! another awesome addition is that your stay comes with ICECREAM! What?! We tried most of the flavours i must say my favorite was the chai flavour !

The hotel staff all spoke English and made the efforts to speak to us ! They also helped with sending our luggage to the next destination. Overall very happy with their customer service.

The room we booked were quite big ,had a small kitchen and sink the bathrooms were equipped with ammenities. The hotel is also very close to the metro so it was easy to commute.

In the future, i will definitely stay here again. Thank you HOTEL SHE for making my stay comfortable and for the new experience ^-^ !!

Such a great hotel, I heard good reviews already but I was still pleasantly surprised at what I found. This place has so much personality, everything is themed and it goes together so well. The staff also are very nice and helpful. I highly reccomend it for an affordable stay in kyoto.

Never had an experience like this before! It's a boutique hotel where the lobby has a beach lounge/bar kinda vibe. Only tiny gripe is the smell of the lobby as they prepare the breakfast there; there's no proper ventilation for the cooking and hence the smell.

The best part about this place is that you get 2 FREE scoops of ice cream every day! If they did that to buy my 5 star review, consider me sold :P

Otherwise, the staff are super friendly and nice. They speak English too (enough to explain stuff to us).

Location is about 5 mins away from the nearest train station. I love the place as it's off the beaten path and not in the super touristy areas.

There's a couple of eateries nearby, Teppanyaki, ramen, convenience store. And the other best part is that there's a public bath house just a couple of steps away!

Very chic hotel with great service and great location! about 5 minute walk to Kujo station and 12 minutes walk to kyoto station. Can borrow vinyls and get free ice cream

It's about to mark a year since I stayed here and I was thinking about how much I missed Japan and especially Hotel She. I loved the aesthetic of the hotel and the room. It was quite a lovely vibe playing Japanese oldies on the record player in my room.
I have to commend their breakfast as well, while they didn't too many options, the ones that they did were all delicious. They had quite a varied list of amenities such as a full kitchen, bicycle rentals, and coin laundry machines.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I regret not remembering their names but a young woman helped me order pizza one night and another night I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with the gentlemen serving me drinks.
This hotel is very cozy as it's embedded within a neighborhood so the surroundings weren't bustling with activity which I personally enjoyed. The main Kyoto station was only about a 10 minute walk which was incredibly convenient.
I will definitely be staying here again when I visit Kyoto again. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.

Great hotel. Very clean and considerably larger rooms than the other hotels. Breakfast is very good but is limited. Just 4 types of waffles to go by. If you were eat it for 3 days or more, you will get tired of it.

Staff are very very friendly and can speak in English without issues.

I have been here for 1 night - a few nights still to go. Absolutely love it so far! The young guy at the front desk is so friendly, and is very patient with me when he doesn't understand me (I don't know any Japanese). The room is perfect-very well appointed. Smelled like way too much bleach when I first got here but it's better now. Will stay here again, definitely!

Nice location and friendly staff. Ice cream is a bonus. Having a waffle for breakfast for more than two days in a row gets a bit tiring however.

I stayed in this hotel in 2017, after a busy day of travel from Tokyo and a quick book on Expedia, selecting the first one the search list (absolutely not planned). And what a surprise! Clean room, top commodities and location, but the best was the service and that nice hotelkeeper that welcomed me at midnight. I stayed in many hotels since then, but the quality of service impressed me at Hotel She. Since then, I always said that I will one day leave a feedback (something that I never do usually). Now it’s done, I can be in peace with myself 😌

Excellent place to stay to explore Kyoto from. Saved money by being able to cook our own meals. Really great service and staff. Rooms are big big, airy and very nice! About a 15min walk to Kyoto station and a 5 minute walk to to nearest underground station. Bike rental at the hotel is ¥1000 for the whole day which is great.

Good hotel with nice and clean rooms not far from central Kyoto Station (approximately 500 m). For your convenience you can use smartphone with Internet, and this is superhelpful. Staff is friendly.

Please not that hotel location is not in the central part of the city. So if you want to go out you have to walk 1-1,5 km towards North.

The staff is really nice and helpful.
We are especially grateful to the girl that spent around half an hour explaining in detail the areas we could visit in Kyoto. She has even created a map by herself, lovely!
