Kyoto Tokyu Hotel

Gorgeous hotel, stunning lobby and bar areas, standard rooms a little small compared to others and the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. But overall friendly service (the barman was lovely and spoke excellent English) and good location. I would stay again but book an executive room next time.

The Kyoto Tokyu hotel is a beautiful collage of tradition and modernity and is a very inviting scene for visitors coming to Kyoto for a first time. The staff are very professional and the rooms are clean and well maintained. I recommend this hotel to Kyoto visitors on vacation

This Hotel is so good for its Price! Great service! (They replace towels and bed sheets ever day, also provide free water bottles and toiletry everyday!)
The free shuttle bus from Kyoto Train station to Hotel ( and vice versa) is really handy for travelling around Kyoto!
Really good for the price you pay at this Hotel!
(Also, they gave free tickets to breakfast buffet every day too!)

This hotel is absolutely STUNNING!! The lobby is uniquely placed on the lower level where there are a number of excellent restaurants and beautiful garden areas where you can just sit and relax. Unfortunately, we only stayed for a couple of nights. However, our room was immaculate, the staff provided exceptional customer service and the hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and stores. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

An old classic elegant hotel in Kyoto. Booked the concept king room, lots of space with its own couch and table. Great experience and hotel service is one of the best. We found out on our way home there’s a private hotel bus shuttle service from Kyoto station to the hotel every 30 mins at certain hours of the day. There’s a temple site right beside the hotel. The hop on hop off bus stop is right outside the hotel. Very easy to take a taxi from the hotel as there’s always one waiting. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in an exclusive elegant comfortable space.

I got a good deal on a room. very nice staff. The mainhall is impressive, the rooms normal.

The hotel is stunning! Also, there's a bonus: A free shuttle that moves between Kyoto Station and the hotel from 8h to 20h. That was extremely helpful (specially here in Kyoto where the public transport relies a lot on buses, different train lines and the metro is not that good).

Located on a busy street not far away from Kyoto Train Station.

You can find unique hotel ornaments once you entered the building through the escalator.

Lobby is spacious and clean. There is a pond garden inside.

Room is clean and comfortable. Good room layout. But breakfast is a little bit crowded.

The rooms are particularly beautiful with a wonderful lighting system. The downstairs restaurant, however, is pricey for dinner. The breakfast is wonderful.

Best location for Kyoto, with a hotel shuttle bus to Kyoto Station. Loved the Japanese garden, and friendly professional reception.

A beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, clean/comfortable rooms and a very nice staff. We had a 3 bed room that was spacious enough that we were comfortable for a week.

There is a gym although I was to tired each day from seeing the sights to use it!

Pro tip: there is a 24h laundry about a 5 minute walk away. Exit the building, make a left and keep going... about 1/2 a block once you cross the foot bridge.

If you get in late and don't have the energy to go find a place to eat, the restaurant directly across the street is actually pretty good. Kinda like a Denny's.

The only drawback to this hotel is the location. Not really close to anything worth seeing so you will either take the shuttle to the central train station or walk a few blocks to catch a bus.

Fantastic service. Totally random but my glasses were loose and I hadn’t been able to find the time or place that I could borrow a mini screw driver to tighten them - our tour guide quickly explained the situation and not even 2 minutes later one of the staff returned with a perfect sized screw driver for me to fix them. Wow. The hotel itself was very nice. It was hollowed out in the middle with a very large square water feature that added to the ambience. Great breakfast and dinner. The room was nice, the only issue we had was being able to open the window to let some air in when it got warm. You can ask the hotel staff to help as it doesn’t swing open or slide open like most windows. Long story short, you will not regret staying here, highly recommend!

Rooms were the selling point. They are perfectly designed. Toilet on one side of the room, then bed, and on then other side the shower/bath and sinks.

Location is great, hotel is gorgeous, gorgeous courtyard. Western and Japanese style breakfast buffets.

Parking is huge and spacious and costs 1000 yen a night.

Comfortable spacious room and incredible service from every staff member. Great attention to detail. Easy parking. Very good value. If/when we come back to Kyoto we'll be staying here.

Probably the only hotel in Kyoto where I don't feel completely cramped. Spacious rooms and a wide lobby/reception give a high class feel. The breakfast offerings are great too, but the location leaves more to be desired, being about 10 mins walk away from any major train/subway stations

Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Good sized rooms, great location. They run a free shuttle to and from Kyoto Station throughout the day, which is really nice. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast room service and it was a nice treat. They also offer in room shiatsu massage, which was really nice, especially after a long day sightseeing. Thank you!
