Lovely castle grounds with places to sit and relax if you wanted to.

Cost a few hundred yen to climb up the castle and the view at the top is definitely worth it. There are also various displays and information on each level on the way to the top.

The surroundings areas of the castle are free to visit and they are quite nice. There are even trees standing after the Hiroshima bombing… the castle itself is amazing and huge consisting of five (5) floors with the fifth as observation deck… you can find the full story & history of the castle as well as many interesting armory (mostly swords), samurai armor, special prices… etc., inside. You can even try holding a sword! It is recommended to include it in your Hiroshima list.

Such a beautiful, enriching experience. The castle grounds are free to walk around as well as the Shinto shrine. If you tour the lower castle, be prepared to take your shoes off. There are also several trees on the grounds that survived the atomic blast. They are beautifully harrowing. The castle itself is about 300 yen. It's four stories and each story covers a different aspect or theme of Hiroshima castle in the past. The stairs are very steep and I did not see an elevator or any other accessible amenities. Almost all of the exhibits have an English translation but for those that didn't, I used Google lens or translate.

Great castle to learn about history. There are are numerous historical artifacts such as textbooks and swords with dates and descriptions. All information is written in English as well.

Nice small castle. Nothing compared to Himeiji or Osaka castle. But I still enjoyed the history. Within the castle there’s a good exhibition of old samurai swords and armor. The grounds are mostly ruins from the atomic bomb. The castle itself is a replica built after the bomb.

This is a beautifully restored castle! The likeness to the original photos is incredible. Set in the corner of the gardens with a moat around the castle creates a uniquely Japanese experience. Until you climb to the top of the castle, you even forget that you're actually in the middle of the sprawling city. Within the castle, you learn about the history of different powers who lead the castle and then you learn about several features through the castle itself. In addition, you see serval sets of armor and then learn about different types of weapons to include samurai swords. Finally, there's a level with water color paintings showing the castle grounds and miyajima island.

It's a must visit to witness Hiroshima away from the nuclear disaster.
The castle is located in walking distance from the atomic dome and city centre.

Hiroshima Castle is a great spot to visit. You can learn a lot about the history of Hiroshima from the exhibits and the stories. The view from the top floor is amazing. You can see the whole city and the river. The castle grounds are also very nice to walk around and relax. It's a peaceful and beautiful place.

Google said this place was free. But there is in fact an entrance fee of a few hundred yen. This castle was worth visiting. It was within a short walking distance from the Memorial museum. The castle itself was in fact a museum of sorts. I reckon it was worth the trip and the fee to go in!

Beautiful castle from outside, and lot of informations inside! I went to 2 other castle before, but this one was the one the most museum-like inside! Totally recommend! I got also the red stamp!

Hiroshima Castle is beautifully recreated from historic records and stands amongst remnants of the original castle and the few notable trees that survived the blast. Take your time to enjoy the surroundings and appreciate the beauty that rose from the ashes.

A bit of a hike from the “main” attractions of the city, but well worth the treck.
Again, be mindful of where and what.you photograph.

Hiroshima Castle. It is a replica from the original site. Now is a museum displaying collections from the ancient local lords. The top floor is opened for sight seeing. Great view of the city!

You can see how people in the past lived in Hiroshima hundreds of years ago, from economy and politics to culture, art, and education. There are English translations also.
If you're a international student living in Hiroshima and have the discount card, you can get into the Castle free :^D

Beautiful place. The views from the top of the castle 🏯 is awesome. The museum inside the castle is fabulous, reminiscent of the golden history.

Though a re-built castle, the park is not too tired to walk through (the site is a plain). Inside the castle building, it's designed as a museum to demo and introduce information about who, when and how the place evolves. There is a free self-service for wearing helmet and armor like Japanese Samurai (a lighter, smaller helmet for female is available as well). On the top floor, you can overlook the moat and the tragical atomic dome by 360 degree views. It’s near by prefectural office and parking may not convenient during week days. Public rest rooms in the park are available.

Not just a beautiful castle, it has a lovely rustic feeling. The grounds are expansive and include foundations of older buildings plus trees that survived the atomic bomb. Beautiful artifacts inside, not too much to appreciate everything, and cool gift store. There is a stamp station inside and a different one outside for the stamp lovers. Activities for kids in Japanese. A great visit if you're in Hiroshima.

A lovely castle! It was destroyed by the atomic bomb and rebuilt. It has nice museums inside. You can have a 360 degree bird's eye view of Hiroshima from the top of the castle.
