We stayed Emblem Flow for two nights. The room is tidy and cosy. The facilities are well maintained. The staff are very nice supported us whenever we needed. The location of the hotel is right next to Gora station, so it's super convenient to tourist attractions. I definitely want to come back again and recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Hakone.

I have previously stayed at many hostels around the world and this one was one of the best. The hostel was literally just beside the train station and made for an easy find. Upon entry there was a really chic and stylish aesthetic — well I think they brand themselves as an art gallery too.

Food options were a little expensive and westernized so I did not partake — I wanted to savor more Japanese food in my last few days here.

My 8- bed dormitory was huge and spacious. There were 2 sofas and plenty of space to lounge or place your luggage (there is a space dedicated for that). The capsule itself had a power socket as well as a usb charge and a personal light. Mattress was super comfortable — honestly one of my best sleeps in Japan — and it comes with a pillow, blanket and quilt, making it very cozy.

Amenities include a toothbrush, a body and a face towel, and also a yukata (bathrobe) which I absolutely adored. The onsen was small and intimate, housing up to 6 at a time per gender (separated by gender).

Oh there is also a community space and a kitchenette (and of course coin washer/dryer). The one nitpick was that the only showers are in the onsen which has the 6 people max rule. Ah, and Gora is a fairly quiet town past 5 or 6pm. Not much food options available, especially after 7. Yumoto might have more options but that’s a 45 min train ride away.

I spended 2 Nights in this establishment and I'm very satisfied .
Everything is available in this hotel, breakfast, dinner, onsen (you even get a little bottle of soda after getting out of the onsen).
It's very well located, just next to Gora station.
And it's not expensive.
The true highlight was the staff, everyone was so nice and cheerful.
Especially Bucchi, she's always smiling and ready to help.
I had a great time in Hakone, thank you,またね.

We stayed for one night to explore Hakone area and had a great time. Our first onsen experience was nice. Location is great for a day trip around lake Ashi. Very nice and friendly personnel. We also really liked the breakfast.

A slice of refuge right outside the ropeway/station! Felt quite modern european in style (outside the bedrooms) and they did amazing western food and drink too, which I loved as I can only have so much ramen and sake, personally. Perfect English hosts and they arranged takeaway breakfast croissants for us the night before so we could leave earlier :) Note: Do not try to walk there with suitcases up the stairs route from the bus stop!! Ignore Google saying it’s just ten mins, it is a lie … If you see stairs turn back and get a taxi, they are steep and never ending!!!!!

It's a very lovely hotel with the best location right next to Gora station although you need to take a low underpass. The whole hotel is quite spacious and tranquil. We were accommodated in a 6-people dorm room, which is spacious with a very clean and cozy bed. It's quite rare in Japan. The food is highly recommended and tasty at affordable price. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and every time is impressive collection of delicate cuisine.

Ended up staying at this Hostel/Hotel for two nights in the middle of April in 2023. Stayed in a shared bunk room where guests were very respectful of one another. Didn't eat at the hotel but had one of the best drinks I had in my life at the restaurant and bar. Location near the train station and cable car is a huge positive, especially if you get the Hakone Free Pass, which I highly recommend. Plenty of views to see, and the area is great for a night or two away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

I will warn other tourists that it does take roughly 45 minutes to get here by train from Hakone-Yumoto station, and for those who aren't very mobile once you get to the train station you will have to go down and up a flight of stairs that pass under the cable car platform, so plan accordingly.

This hostel has wonderful onsen, which has a good smell and the water temperature is good. I personally feel it's better than the famous onsens that you need to pay for. It's near to a furnicular station, quite convenient to get around. The food served was ok (salad was so-so). Everything is included. Spacious sleeping dorm room and there is even a free drink after using the onsen. Very good option for solo or friends travellers.

A fantastic place right next to the train station and cable car. The staff were all super helpful and kind. The rooms were lovely and clean. A nice modern feel, and we got a 3 bed which worked well for our family. It all had a very nice feel with the decor, the wood combined with the concrete. Even the detail of the small wood block on the room key was a nice touch. Also loved the breakfast which was included and a delicious modern style with western hints of flavour. Would certainly recommend.

A gem in Hakone - Gora. We've had a pleasant stay in Emblem Flow, the staff are extremely welcoming, kind, friendly and they speak excellent English. The hotel is just 1-2 mins walk from Gora train station and cable car, less than 10mins walk to Hakone Gora park.

Even though bathrooms are shared they are well maintained and cleaned. They have a decent sized onsen with a japanese set up, those who have tattoo are welcomed too.

We've pre-ordered the dinner with their restaurant, the dinner plate set comes with hot rice pot and free drink. The food are delicious and filling.

A big shout out to the short-hair lady staff with a kind soul (I think her name is Mior - I hope I remember and spell her name correctly). I've requested for some ice for my injured knee and she packed the ice in a bag so that it's easy for me to use it on my knee without me asking so. It's a small gesture but it indeed a heart warming one. Hope to see her again when I travel to Hakone again :).

Amazing establishment!!! The rooms are lovely, completely clean with a beautiful modern and minimalistic design. Convenient location and great onsen, very relaxing experience.
Additionally, the staff are ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!! They are so welcoming and kind, ready to assist in your queries and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect.
The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious.
The food is exquisite and able to accommodate for various dietary requirements, including delicious dishes for VEGETARIANS and VEGANS with an assortment of delectable flavours.
It is also walking distance to one of the most beautiful gardens I have attended and is surrounded by amazing scenery.

This was a great place to stay with a group! My friends and I came after we hiked Fuji and were exhausted. Thankfully the location is fantastic for public transportation and they have an onsen. It was a great place to soak and relax after a busy couple days. The beds were comfy and the rooms had enough space to it out suitcases. We also enjoyed that the toilet and shower were separated in the room. The only complaint was that the breakfast was a little odd but it was included so we ate it anyways. I’ll keep this place in mind for future trips!

This is just a fantastic place to stay. The second you walk into the bright, airy reception you feel better. The rooms are large and clean and every amenity is provided. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - they really went the extra mile for us when I made a mistake on our booking. The onsen is amazing - being able to start your day with a soak in mineral water is an experience I'll never forget. Our kids loved the bunk beds in our room, and the hotel restaurant meals for kids were also delightful, with a little chocolate gold coin included as well as kid friendly foods. Great drinks for the adults - lots of homemade touches with the cocktails and an interesting selection of local beverages. Respectful, friendly atmosphere - I would feel just as comfortable staying here solo as I did with my family of 5. Hopefully someday I'll be able to come back!

This hostel was amazing, truly the best service I've experienced in a long time. They also do free luggage transfer to your new hostel (no size or weight limit!) - I had a large checked-in luggage and a carry-on luggage and they transferred this to my hostel in Hakone for free of charge which saved me SO much hassle and stress.

If I could restructure anything about my stay it would be the basic breakfast (additional 800 yen, or more if you want bread/eggs) - as a Westerner it was a bit strange to have fries/soup for breakfast rather than toast.

A better option for breakfast would be:
◉ Basic breakfast: bread + jams/yoghurt + cereal (with juice/coffee available)

◉ Additional breakfast: eggs/croissant/meat (optional, could be replaced with another egg) + a piece of fruit

I would say the dinner portions are quite small (albeit very delicious!) I as a small girl was still very hungry after my (delicious) gnocchi + a cocktail.

Otherwise, fantastic stay! The onsen and post-drink was definitely the peak of my stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel! The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming (and all spoke excellent English). The onsen is fantastic and it's worth noting that it is a tattoo friendly one. My room was very generously sized, definitely the largest hotel room I stayed in during my adventures in Japan. Although some of the fixtures are showing their age everything was clean, well maintained and perfectly functional.

The location is absolutely perfect for seeing the sights of Hakone. The hotel is literally next door to Gora station where you can take a train to Hakone Yumoto or ride the funicular railway up the mountain to Owakudani (where if you're lucky you'll get some spectacular views of Fuji San).

If you're coming to Gora I would recommend a stay here. You won't regret it!

Spaceous and clean rooms. Staff was friendly with good enough english. Onsen bath was worth the visit alone.

I stayed in the dormitory..
As far as dormitories go in my limited experience (being the first time) I think it was great. Clean, tidy, each bed had a privacy curtain, access to every thing service was great - I should have asked her name. She explained everything really well. And in English ..bless.. Price for the dormitories was reasonable. I wanted a place to just sleep to break up my Hakone trip.

They sent me a list of Restaurant options and coffee shops prior to coming.

It has a kitchenette and a shared space. The shared space could be cosied up a bit with a lounge chair or something. But it's clean, it has some books, cards dining table and chairs.

Restaurant food is good and reasonably priced. Breakfast option. Coffee shop a couple of doors down.

So close to the station. It's ridiculous. Close to the museum.

You could go as a group. 6 bunks in my room.. save you booking 2 rooms.

Great experience...

I really enjoyed my stay here and it was so relaxing. The people at Reception as well as the people working in the restaurant/bar were so friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and warm, and the hotel itself, including the onsen, was clean and well presented. Not to mention, the hotel was so close to the train station and cable car (right next door!) which was so convenient and we never heard any external noise, etc. The perfect stay!

Those who don't mind common toilet can stay this place. Like their lobby area and their cafe area. The best part of this place is the onsen.

The mineral in the water, if not wrong is Iron mineral. If you have not tried Iron mineral onsen water, means that you have not tried the best onsen water.

The smoothness of such water is like a layer of oil that you have dip into. So smooth !
