Jordanian Local SWEETS

Bought some delicious dates and halva from here after a nice kid invited us to have a look through his shop. He had everything under control until the card payment, when he needed his father help. They invited us for tea and sweets (free of charge) and we had a nice talk about Jordan. The man also runs a mosaic workshop, and everything is handmade by him. Such amazing pieces of pottery, ceramics and mosaic, and also some gorgeous silver necklaces, all handmade by him. Definitely recommend it, one of the most welcoming experience in Jordan.

Jordanian local sweets convinces not only with its high quality products, which are offered at comparably low prices, but mainly with the warm and friendly manner of the owner Atif. I have visited many Arab markets and I can tell immediately if someone is just promoting just his products or if he is sincere in his dealings with you. Atif and his no less friendly brother Malik (owner of the neighboring store) invited us to tea with sweets, much later after we bought some dates and only passed by. They talked with us at length about God and the world and cracked some jokes with us. It is a pity that tourist guides do not lead tourists to the local owners but only to the mass places where they get provision. Everyone who is in Madaba should come here and buy souvenirs from here (especially his local honey from mount Nebo).

Very good place to stop for a real bedouin tea and to taste typical homemade sweets. The owner is a special person as well as his tea, which is the best in the country (as Jordan people say).

We had been invited to drink some tea and have some home made sweets. While this is of course good for business, the hospitality was really genuine. We had a good talk and the sweets and teas he sells are great. They are genuinely home made and really tasteful. Really recommend to visit, taste and buy here!

The best sweets shop in city centre, the home made sweets are amazing and the owner and his friends are an example of jordan hospitality. Take a sit, drink a tea with them and relax!

C'est une adresse incontournable de Madaba. Meilleur magasin de biscuits jordanien faits maison !! Le thé bedoin du propriétaire est juste délicieux et avec un sens de l'hospitalité à la jordanienne!! Ça aura été une de nos meilleure rencontre en jordanie.

Des prix honnêtes dans un magasin simple, sans superficialité mais un accueil chaleureux, des produits excellents et un moment sympa partagé avec le gérant et son fils!

Une superbe adresse si vous passez par Madaba... Le personnel est adorable, on vous offre le thé bédouin tout en goûtant ses deux pâtisseries orientales (très très bonnes) et le tout sans rien attendre en retour. Les Jordaniens ont le cœur sur la main et c'est d'autant plus flagrant à Madaba !!

Dieses tolle Süsswarengeschäft mit typisch jordanischen Produkten muss jeder unbedingt besuchen, wenn er nach Madaba kommt. Neben den vielen leckeren Köstlichkeiten, ist die Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft des Besitzer, seines Cousins und seines Bruders, der nebenan einen Laden hat, unschlagbar. Nachdem wir von den leckeren von der Mutter des Besitzers selbstgebackenen Süssigkeiten probieren durften, wurden wir noch zu Tee und Gebäck eingeladen und hatten nette Gespräche. Leider hatten wir nicht soviel Zeit, aber bei unserer nächsten Reise, kommen wir sicher wieder vorbei. Unbedingt hier vorbeigehen, und nicht in die typischen Touristenläden. Es lohnt sich!
