This place is a joke, and that’s the nicest thing I can say about it. If google allowed me to give 0 stars I would!
I had inquired about their services weeks before I ever left home. I exchanged emails with Nancy Shahatit who is supposedly the medical sales manager. I explained my skin condition and requested an appointment to consult with the doctor and get treatment. She sent me a price list and informed me that treatment was usually required a 3 week stay. I explained that I could only manage an 8 day stay and that I would be flying in from the US. I told her that perhaps the doctor could see me and suggest a treatment during my stay and recommend something I could do at home. I also informed her that if the treatment worked I would return for future treatments.
She emailed me a confirmed appointment for noon on Sept. 26, the day after my arrival in Amman.
After traveling for over 2 days I arrived in Amman on the 25th. I checked in to my hotel in Amman and the next day instructed my driver to drive me to this so called Medical Center which by the way is located in the Dead Sea Spa and Resort. (At one point during our emails Nancy had said patients stayed at the 4 star resort. It was never an option for us as this property does not fit our hotel preferences. )
Anyway after an hour long drive I arrived at the property a bit early and was directed by the resort’s desk to walk down the path and follow the signs to the “medical center”. The name definitely has delusions of grandeur, it looked more like a third world field clinic.
Upon opening the door into this “medical center” we stepped into a cramped room that had a reception counter on the right, some sort of room containing what seemed to be outdated medical equipment on the left, and at the back of the room a metal desk displaying an old fashioned sphygmomanometer, or blood pressure cuff, with 2 folding chairs in front. There was a gentleman in scrubs sitting behind the desk, he seemed to be speaking with a patient sitting on one of the chairs in front of him.
There was a black haired older woman standing behind the reception. A more unpleasant woman I’ve yet to meet. When I told her I had a 12 o’clock appointment she screeched “no, absolutely not. I don’t have any appointments for today”.
The gentleman in scrubs came over and I showed him the email that said I had a CONFIRMED appointment for that day. He directed me to sit at the chair the previous patient had just vacated ( I believe she was taken to another room). As I sat in the chair the unpleasant woman informed me that Nancy had made a mistake and gave me the wrong date. I tried to show her the email and she said she knew that I came from Kuwait. I told her I was from the US and did not have a lot of time to waste. She said she knew and my appointment was for Wednesday the 29th. I left and have no intention of returning.
This was a total waste of time! They are unpleasant, unprofessional, and really idiotic. I was a potential patient prepared to pay the cost of the treatment which was well over $500. Any serious business would not turn away clients, specially when the resort and clinic had almost no customers!
So if you’re planning on seeking treatment here, think twice. Don’t waste your money and your time. Do not subject yourself to this vile incompetent woman.
