Porta San Pietro

Beautiful place there are 99 churches with in the city walls. Don't miss out to climb the tower where get a chance to see panaromic view of the entire surrounding. On top of the tower there is a beautiful roof garden. That week end we traveled they held world second largest comics and gaming event in the Luca. Beautiful place to visit not far from Pisa.

This is one of the main entrances through the historic walls surrounding Lucca's historic centro. It's the closest way to access the old city from the train, as it's just a few blocks away from the train station, making Lucca very easy to visit as a day trip on foot.

This bridge has separate vehicle and pedestrian passageways below it, and the way is fairly flat, so wheeling your own luggage from the station is manageable. You'll be passing under the 3-mile walking/biking path loop on the fortress walls that surrounds the old city.

We loved Lucca. Awesome town, nice people and great food. Avoid some of the craziness of Florence for a few days and visit Lucca. You want regret it.

The main southern gate into Lucca. A lovely merry go round located nearby is a big attraction for younger children. It looks fantastic when lit up at night. The restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity of the gate are only ok, you'll find better nearby. You can get easy access up onto the picturesque walls surrounding Lucca from the vicinity of the gate.

Supercool historical landmark. The most beautiful part of of the ancient city walls and best place to start tour through Lucca. Quite a lot of parking place around.

Nice spot . We had the Elton John concert nearby. We parked our bikes in the roses at the bottom . Beautiful place to walk in day- or nightlight. Visit all the portas by walking on or next to the medieval citywalls

Lucca is a beautiful town whitin the walls that were built as a fortress to protect the Village from the enemies l attak . Greate art. And Amazing food In the best Tuscany style!!
