The Lucca Cathedral is a lovely place. It's really pretty outside and peaceful inside. You can go up the tower for nice views of the city. It's not too busy, so it's a nice place to see if you like old buildings and history.

Lucca is a hidden treasure, the town is historical in every inch it's a must visit while you visit Tuscany.
its a medieval cityscape, well preserved, so you can stroll through Lucca's picturesque alleyways, across impressive squares.

Went to the Puccini and Mozart summer concert series. There were 2 Opera singers, one Soprano and one Alto, and a Pianist. We were in a small church next to the Basilica museum, and the sound was incredible! The concert lasted about an hour. A wonderful experience. Arrive early, close to 6pm, when they open the doors. We had front row seats :)

A walled city in the heart of Tuscany. Lucca is a small town. The beautiful north of Tuscany Very beautiful traces of Roman architecture. A modern city without losing its great past! :)

One of the most beautiful places I've seen in my trip! I was impressed by the glass work done in the church and still am. The roof follows same path. And a good characteristic of the visit, is not a expensive.

Lucca s old city (within walls) is an absolute mut see if you visit Florence or any place in tuscany

Its a lovely place, like its been taken out if a novel, and in every corner you are left astounded by the architectureof the buildings, the cobblestone pathways, the churches, the towers...

As beautiful as similar places in Florence. An atmospheric education on Catholicism. We went on a weekday in Jan and it there were few people.

Beautiful cathedral, but without crowds of tourists. Lucca is an awesome and hardly known alternative to noisy and crowded Florence. Recommendation: get the ticket that allows you access to three other beautiful locations in Lucca, too.

A must see when visiting Lucca! We love this city and could see ourselves moving there from the US. The people are very friendly too! This Cathedral is so beautiful and my photos don’t even do it justice!

The highlight of the Duomo for me is the Sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto, definitely one of the most beautiful renaissance sculptures.

Fantastic cathedral with a lot of dedicated objects of art inside.
Fantastic paintings, one from Tintoretto.
Right hand before the entrance a finger-labyrinth carved in marble.

The Cathedral of Lucca that contains the oldest wood crucifix in the world, even older than the current church, which is dated around the xth century.

It is a monument ever so full of esoteric mysticism and beautiful classical art.

Must visit.

Outstanding facade and sculpture on the narthex. The impressive interior is filled with beautiful works by Matteo Civitali, including the Tempietto del Volto Santo, and paintings by Giovanni Battista Paggi, Alessandro Allori, Fra Bartolomeo, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Passignano and Tintoretto amongst orhers. Don’t miss viewing Jacopo della Quercia’s beautiful Funerary Monument to Ilaria del Carretto (1406-08) in the Sacristy.
