Our favourite spot in Capri! We came here two days in a row because it was so good and the wait staff remembered us!

The pasta is cooked perfectly and quality was consistent both days. We got the same pasta dishes and the same octopus and I was actually shocked how good it was both days in a row.

The staff is really friendly and the service is quick.

They also have lots of vegan options which is nice. The adffogato is a MUST!

Cosy family restaurant that serves up fabulous food in Capri in an engaging & wonderful friendly atmosphere. Every one of the different dishes we ordered was superb & so well cooked. More importantly, it was a delight to see so many different types of customers interacting so well in the restaurant - from large families to the romantic young couple to visitors from overseas like us to solo diners who just want to enjoy a good meal with wine. Loved the genuine family atmosphere here which is so rare to find in this part of Capri where there are so many other pretentious, overpriced restaurants just a few meters on the same road.
La Capannina has stood the test of time & I could see why since the 1930s that genuine diners who love good food at good value would make this their choice.

La Capannina Ristorante is a great restaurant for sure. It’s not cheap but certainly reasonably priced considering the quality of food and the setting. Service was polite and efficient, and the owner took time to speak with us too. All in all a lovely evening and we’ll definitely come again when we’re back in Capri

Ristorante La Capannina is an amazing restaurant in the heart of Capri. It’s traditional, famous and it’s got great reviews. We were unsure whether this restaurant is not overrated. We visited it during our stay in April 2023 and we must say it’s absolutely amazing. The food is superb, the staff is very friendly and it is designed very nicely too. After our first dinner we booked two more evenings straightaway. We definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Capri.

Our entire experience dining here will be one to remember. Everyone was extremely friendly when we arrived. The food was impeccable! And unbeknownst to us, at the end of the meal, we got to witness a show. The lights went out and the servers (along with the owner) started to sing, dance and play the tambourines around the restaurant. Everyone was singing along and having a fabulous time. This definitely started our Capri vacation off on the right foot. Thank you for such a memorable evening.

Our hotel arranged a reservation for us and unfortunately our name wasn’t on the list. Not to worry, they quickly got us a table and one in the window at that. Stunning and our first “street” view table. It was perfect for lunch!

We proceeded to order the Caprese salad, minestrone soup, and spaghetti. All of which was phenomenal. One note - this was the first restaurant we ate at which indicated vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. While obvious at most places, we were happy to see this called out.

We attempted to let our wine be our dessert, but couldn’t say no to the lemon cake. This was more food than we needed and we left extremely full for Italian standards.

Absolutely stunning, fabulous service, and very accommodating. Certainly recommend a reservation, but they did accept walk-ins.

Our family had the best experience dining here. They were able to accommodate our large group of 11 and seated us right away. They had a large menu which even included a vegan options. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable of what we can eat, given our vegan lifestyle.

Excellent, attentive service, a beautiful atmosphere, and traditional food with their own special twists make this a tried and true restaurant on Capri. Many restaurants rely on gimmicks, but La Capannina does not need to. As a solo diner I was welcomed personally, and felt like a VIP. During this heat wave, the air conditioning was comfortable, and allowed for a relaxing, convivial atmosphere for all. This is not the place to show up in a bathing suit or sneakers, so please be mindful and enjoy the atmosphere that locals and celebs have been enjoying since the 1930s. I enjoyed the bean and escarole soup, which was just like my grandmother’s, the ravioli Caprese with local caciotta cheese, the pollo Caprese (baked chicken with vegetables) and their version of lemon torta Caprese (just get it!) and nothing was a disappointment. Honestly, this is, in many ways homestyle cooking simply served with a bit of sophistication. No gimmicks needed. Not giant lemons to attract attention—just doing what they do best. Antonio and the staff are kind and attentive but not too fussy. Do be sure to speak with the staff, ask questions, and enjoy their kindness and hospitality. Make a reservation and enjoy yourself. And order the ravioli Caprese—it’s a must!

Out of the many restaurants that are aimed at tourists, with average food at expensive prices, La Capannina stands above the rest with its warm and efficient service and quality, tasty food. With classic Italian dishes presented nicely, and with amazing flavours, we really enjoyed our time here.

This place is exactly what it’s hyped out to be in my opinion. The pasta and red sauce was the best I’ve ever had. The ravioli was simply unbelievable, and the Spaghetti was ungodly. Definitely make reservations here it’s always packed!

Food was incredible! My husband ordered the ravioli caprese and I got the spaghetti alla nerano - so flavorful. The rocket salad was also excellent. Could definitely see why some people labeled it touristy, but honestly all of Capri felt that way in the city center. Overall enjoyed this experience!

Great restaurant. Can get really busy. Must have a reservation. Live entertainment is nice if your sitting downstairs. Upstairs group can feel left out.

My Wife and I ate at this restaurant on May 1st, 2022 in beautiful Capri... It is located about 100 feet from the Piazzetta in the very center of Capri. My Wife will tell you that if she could have eaten every meal in our 18 day trip to Italy at this restaurant she would have been happy to do so. From the appetizer through the desserts we have nothing, but praise. I had an artichoke like I have never had before, I literally cannot describe how delicious it was period.

Really nice restaurant, excellent ambiance, delicious food and phenomenal service. The prices are a little bit high but this is Capri and this place definitely worth it. Strongly recommend!

Absolutely incredible! The atmosphere, service, and food are among the best I’ve ever had. We entered and left with smiles on our faces. Thank you to everyone there for a beautiful night in Capri. This is truly a MUST for your visit.

This place had more soul and character than many humans 🙂 We chose it after we received a random recommendation from a waiter in another restaurant. It's been around since 1931, family owned, a must visit for celebrities through out the 20th century. Our waiter was a man in his late 50's with the most sophisticated but still warm and delicately friendly manners that you can imagine, much like a seasoned Brittish buttler from the calssic literature. The kitchen is as good as the service. I chose a cream soup and grilled octopus, and my wife shot for a pasta. All choices were great. The wine list has a wide budget range so with the friendly and budget-mindful help of our almighty waiter we strived for the upper mid-range. Great choice! Again, I don't know how many other restaurants are there in Capri but this place is the beating heart of the island.

The pasta and wine list was amazing!! One of the best truffle pasta’s I’ve ever had!! Also really quick, great service, and perfectly air conditioned in this hot weather!

Friendly and efficient service. Excellent food. Roomy, so you don't feel like packed sardines like a lot of Capri establishments. Tucked away but still convenient from the busy town center.

WOW. It says "must" next to the Ravioli and they meant it. Best Ravioli I've ever had. The veal was excellent as well. Service and atmosphere was beautiful. The server took her time explaining the menu and made great suggestions. Definitely recommend!
