Monte Solaro Chair Lift

This was on my bucket list. Wasn’t able to do this last time I was in Ana Capri. So glad I got to check this one off. Be sure to visit the restaurant at the top. Hint: get there early to beat the crowds. Chairs were nearly empty when I went up. Fully loaded by the time I left. I’m sure the restaurant will be packed not to mention the restrooms.

100% worth it! We were lucky enough to be there in November so it was much less crowded than the Summer. Beautiful views & nothing like the view from the top!

The chair lift was amazing! Highly recommend to visit. The view was absolutely stunning and the journey itself up the mountain was almost therapeutic. For a round trip, the tickets are €14 per person, but well worth it. You can also pay by card. The whole experience takes about 13 minutes up and down, so plenty of time to relax and take pictures

Beautiful views. Be sure to buy a round-trip ticket. Unless you are really fit, the hike back could be difficult. It is a beautiful hike though.

Was the highlight of our day trip to Capri from Sorrento. Absolutely stunning views of the blue Mediterranean waters and the landscape nearby. The place feels so nice and fresh in the morning and lifts your mood and spirits as well! Understand it gets a bit crowded as the day progresses so best is to visit this place earlier in the day. The area nearby from where the chair lift starts is also good for shopping and has lot of very nice restaurants and bars. Easily accessible by public transport from Capri.

08/2023 Probably the best thing to experience on Capri! A pleasant, relaxing one-seater ride to the top of Monte Solaro. The ride lasts a pleasant 10 minutes, beautiful panorama, in silence. Suitable for all ages, but be careful with personal items as they may fall out. At the top, a wonderful view of the whole of Capri and a very pleasant bar/restaurant. Due to the crowd, longer waits are possible. Helpful staff.

So glad we chose to do this! I would recommend getting a private taxi to the starting location as the bus line is usually extremely long and crammed on like sardines. We did a round trip chair lift which I recommend as the view in each direction is different! Staff was helpful getting on and off the lift and safety! The views are AMAZING!

Awesome view of the island. We felt secure in the seat. I even had a large backpack that I simply placed on top of my legs. Nice restaurant with views and a restroom at the end.

Well worth an experience. Views from the top is breathtaking. You can view whole of an island from top.

This was spectacular. And well worth the visit the views from the top are amazing. If your nervous about heights dont worry your never that high off the ground and the guys at the top and bottom look after everyone very well.

The chair lift is a wonderful serene way to see the highest point on the Isle of Capri in Anacapri. The view is beautiful with many opportunities to take photos high up on the island. Once you reach the top, there is a cafe to purchase a meal or snacks. The views from the top are exceptional. It is definitely one of the best land experiences on the island!

Great experience, well worth the €12, you get the bus up to Capri and then you can get in the chair up to the top of the mountain.

The views that they’re really amazing if you’re gonna do anything in Capri, make sure you do this.

The team was very conscious when helping people onto and off the lift chair. The view was breath taking. Well worth it.

So fun! You can not beat the view. Even if you are scared of heights it is absolutely worth it. A must do when in Capri!

Don't be afraid as the ride is very smooth! The ride takes about 15 minutes for a one way trip to the top or down. Recommend round trip tickets for €12 since the trail up/down is a bit unclear. It gets very busy after 1030 even on weekdays.

The best way to get to the highest point on Capri on a hot day. You get brilliant views over Anacapri in relaxing style.

Would recommend exploring and walking back down as the hike back with the ruins and views to the west were fantastic.

This is a breathtaking ride. You can see the water and houses from extremely high. The chair lifts can only hold one person at a time but I feel like that adds to the amazing experience. I suggest taking the round-trip because when you make it to the top, I don't think there is an easy way back. I will come here again when I revisit italy! 🇮🇹 ❤

Great fun. Big tip, when you enter the queue ask for a reservation at the restaurant and you will be brought to the front of the queue and 10% off food at the bistro or restaurant. You are not committed to going to the restaurant when you arrive (although we did, as the view was lovely).
