We took a guided boat tour around the island that my friends booked. I don’t know the name of the tour company, unfortunately, but we had a great time. We stopped at the Blue Grotto for about a 15-20 minute ride with the guides that wait outside the cave to take you in. It cost us €15 each, but it was worth it, the color of the water in the cavern is spectacular. The whole island is beautiful when circumnavigated.

If you go to Italy, make sure you stop at Capri/AnaCapri. The Blue Grotto experience was short but a good experience. The wait times were really long, but it was worth it. Also note that things are typically more expensive on the island.

We almost didn't get to go. It was windy and getting windier. We were on the last boat for that day. It was only a little after noon.

You can catch a boat, several companies there, from the harbor in Capri.

When our boat full of passengers was done, the boatmen began packing back towards town. We ferried some of them back to the marina. See photos for that post of the adventure!!!

I'm so glad we took the chance and went for that boat ride. It was INCREDIBLE! The ride, the waves, the boatmen willing to head into the Grotto. The senior boatman guiding and directing each small boat based on the wave action. It was a bucket list item. The adventure, beauty, and being serenaded by the boatmen in the giant cave was so fabulous!!!!

If you're there, GO!!!!

My daughter and I absolutely loved visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri Italy. You can catch a boat from the Capri harbor. The boat doesn't just take you to the grotto but for a nice trip around the islands before getting to the Blue Grotto. It's a great way to see everything from the water.

Absolutely beautiful and a must do experience. My boat operator was very nice and the ride from Capri was very quick.

The most mesmerizing moment!....the piloys of each boat sing opera when about to enter, which has to be done carefully because of the tides, you could bang your head entering the cave.....the most astonishing color shines everywhere once in the grotto, leaving you with a truly marvelous feeling, its a blue I have never seen before! Beautiful!

We bought a boat tour around the island in the morning. From the Capri's port we went directly to the blue grotto - we were there around 10.15 a.m. and there was already lots of people waiting on the stairs and also on the boats. We got inside quite quick. The entrance was 14 Euro - quite a lot for a 5 minute ride... We changed the boat for small boats and got inside. The man who was in the small boat was very nervous and not nice. But I am still happy that we went there! It was amazing inside!

This is an amazing experience. You ride out in a motor boat and wait your turn to transfer to a row boat where you sit on the floor. When you enter the opening in the cave you must lay down flat in the boat to get through.

This is an awesome experience to see the sunlight reflected off the white sand into the cave.

You must be able to climb from one boat to a rowboat, sit on the floor and lay down flat.

This is one of those crazy experiences you can go home and tell your friends about. Its quite a long wait so bring water and maybe take a dramamine beforehand if you’re prone to seasickness but its cool getting inside the cave and *jumping in*… the water is not that cold and its a fun experience. My friend and I were supposed to do a different boat tour and I think had we done the other boat tour we probably wouldn’t have done this, but it was still cool in the end and a once in a lifetime thing.

Definitely worth going when visiting Capri. The color of the water is amazing! They say that the best times are between 12pm and 2pm but I would go earlier. We went at 9:30am and only waited 5 minutes to get on a boat. We went by around 12pm on a boat tour and the line was insane.

This place is a must visit. the wait is long but worth every penny we spent. The boat that took us there made sure to explain during the way and made sure it was fun too. We waited almost an hour to get in the grotto and almost and jour to get there. but words cant explain what we saw.

The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) at Capri is an amazing cave. You can only access it by boat through a 1 meter high opening only accessible when the tides are low and sea calm. The grotto is flooded with a superb blue or emerald light.

You can not swim in the cave due to security reasons and to keep the water clean. The only way to get in is by small rowing boats with space for up to four persons and cost around 14 eur per person.

You can either access it from the land or from a boat. We had a round trip around the Island with a group of around 30 persons. Highly recommended. It´s faster than accessing from land by yourself (long queue).

It’s beyond words! You have to visit by yourself once in a life time! However it’s not an easy way to get into the blue grotto! You have to change 3 times of the boats and then wait on the floating sea for about 30 minutes! You will get all dizzy and sick however it’s all worth it!

We signed up for a private, 3-hour boat tour of the island, knowing that we would pass by the grotto with a possible opportunity to enter (based on the weather). This was not our main objective. However, upon arriving, our captain said the line looked short and encouraged us to check it out. We agreed and were picked up by the small rowboat after about 10-15 mins.
After paying the 14Euro/pp to enter (50Euro total after tip), we queued up to enter the cavern with our captain, Sergio, and another couple onboard. After waiting out a few large waves, we were pulled through the small opening via the chain attached to the wall. Very cool.
Stunning scene inside the cavern as we made our way towards the back before queueing back up to exit.
People who may enjoy this: those willing to part with a moderate amount of money to experience something truly unique and beautiful.
People who may not enjoy this: those prone to seasickness and/or prone to complaining about money any chance they get.

We really had a great experience here! We arrived early in the morning to Capri and immediately went to buy the ticket for a boat to take us to Blue Grotto. We paid 21€/person and then, luckily, we waited only around 40-50minutes before going inside to the cave. We had a nice, funny guide. He nicely explained how it works - you need to pay the entrance (18€/person) which consists of money for the government for entering the natural reservation of the country and then some part to the company providing this little boats. We gave him a tip 5€/person.
It was a nice experience for us and we enjoyed the whole experience.

Busy little place, worth to see the sea cave with amazing blue light from sea.

Worth the short time there... Approx 10-15 mins. Best to get early to avoid queues... Although expect to wait in a queue 😀

Two main options:
1. Via bus from Capri marina by bus to AnaCapri, the. Change bus. Approx 40-60 mins
2. Group taxi from Capri marina, Approx 20-30mins

At the Blue Grotto, You pay entry to Blue Grotto 14 Euros per person

On today's episode of how beautiful is the Amalfi coast - the blue grotto Capri. Once feared by the local sailors because of legends of spirits and demons which inhabited the cave, now proven the bright blue is caused by light coming from a secondary cave. Simply stunning!

Couple of options to get there either via boat out bus. Boats are around 20-25 euro per person. Bus is 8 euro return per person.

Entry into grotto is 14 euro per person plus a 5 euro tip per group.

Entry prices into the grotto regardless of what people tell you are never included in any tour. Hence why we took the bus saving at minimum $12 euro per person. Recommend catching the bus as when we were there people arriving via bus directly at entrance to grotto waited less time to enter the cave.

Catching the bus from Capri you head across to Piazza della Pace. From Piazza della Pace change buses and ride to the final stop. Take stairs down to little dock.

Amazing well worth the 49 euro for the two of us to experience this phenomenon!

This is a bit of a physical feat, but so worth it!

You can access via boat tour or by land (take the bus down and follow stairs to grotto). Once you get in the boat (max. 4 people, the two of us went with another group of 2), the boatman will bring you to a floating ticket stand. BOTH CREDIT CARD AND CASH are accepted. 18€ each. Going in, they have you duck your head so you don’t hit it on the small entryway. Then you go into the grotto for a few minutes and they sing inside.

It’s a bit difficult to get into / out of the small boat, and you definitely get wet! But it was so beautiful and a unique experience. Also - go to the small public beach nearby for a hidden gem.

Our oarsman was very nice, sang for us and made a photo of us (for a nice big tip he asked for), the entrance fee is 14€/person, but a must do when you are on capri.

If you are in CAPRI, this is a must do...no way around it..sure it's packed, yes the sun will cook you as you wait, but it's worth it. TIP your boat captain immediate.ly upon entering for some extra time in the cave, and for nice treatment regarding him/her taking your photos. Hey you are only there once or twice soo make it worth the time. The glow inside is hard to have justice done to it. It's spectacular...now forget that i said this and just go experience it yourself.
