My visit to Lóndrangar View Point in Iceland was a truly awe-inspiring experience. As I approached the site, the distinctive volcanic rock formations, Lóndrangar and its neighboring peak, rose dramatically from the rugged landscape. The sense of isolation and the raw beauty of the surroundings created a surreal atmosphere.

The viewing platform offered a panoramic spectacle of the North Atlantic coastline, with crashing waves and distant cliffs completing the dramatic scene. The iconic basalt columns and the sheer scale of Lóndrangar were captivating, evoking a sense of wonder at the geological forces that shaped this unique landscape.

The weather played a role in enhancing the experience; the interplay of sunlight and clouds casting dynamic shadows over the cliffs added a layer of complexity to the scenery. The birdlife around the cliffs, including fulmars and kittiwakes, added a lively touch to the remote and tranquil setting.

While the journey to Lóndrangar involved a bit of exploration, the payoff in terms of natural beauty and the feeling of standing at the edge of Iceland's untamed coastline made it a memorable stop. Lóndrangar View Point is a must-visit for those seeking a profound connection with Iceland's captivating and untouched landscapes.

Trail leads from the small car park (no facilities) to the coastal view point. Amazing view inland towards Snaefellsjokull from the car park. At the viewpoint there are stunning views west towards Lóndrangar and the Malarrif Lighthouse. The cliffs hold colonies of seabirds. The trail then heads east and takes you back to the car park. Definitely add this to your itinerary.

This view point is accessible from the parking lot. It’s an easy walk up the boardwalk to a series of view points overlooking the ocean, Londrangar, and the bird colonies below. Round trip from parking lot to viewpoints and back is 10-15 min in total.

Amazing views of the ocean and lava rock. The sound from the waves were astounding due to the strong currents. It's definitely a must-see stop while driving through the peninsula.

I had a strange experience wandering this area during which, for a moment, I distinctly felt a sensation I can only describe as a “spirit” stepped into my body, took a breath through my lungs, looked around with my eyes, then left. I was flooded with a sudden deep appreciation for life and immediately started sobbing. It was suuuuuper bizarre.

This view point is extremely beautiful. The vast expanse of the sea and the basalt rocks down under are such an interesting sight. The horizon appears so grand. The sunset gives a golden glow to this whole place. Walk till the last part of the view point to get the whole glimpse of this stunning place. Beautiful vistas. There are wooden benches where you can sit and relax.

Love this kind of locations. Very nice view-line. The two rocks are two trolls that are become a stones. The bigger rock is a daddy troll, smaller - mommy troll. They forgot to hide from sun because of a squabble. Recommended!
