Didn't go into the museum but walked around a bit, used their restrooms (last open ones before the cliffs on the day we were there) and got something to drink. Cute little shop there, too

This is a great museum with a lot of interesting objects, as an Icelander i saw a lot of interesting things, both that I can relate to and things I’ve only heard about.

The only thing I would like to see is more information about how the different things were used, perhaps some interesting videos.

There is also a very interesting section about a wild flock of sheep that lived freely in the mountains for over a decade.

Beautiful museum in the middle of the mountains. It’s a must see on your way to or from Latrabjarg, or just must see on your way when traveling in the Westfjords of Iceland. Extremely friendly and helpful staff more then willing give you information about the artifact on display. There is a small restaurant where you can get coffee and cakes. Highly recommended!

Wonderful little museum on the way ro the Látrabjarg cliffs - do not drive by without stopping. No better way to learn about the life of the people in the West fjords, and about the incredible rescue of shipwrecked British sailors by heroic locals in 1947. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, and will answer all your questions. Make sure it’s prt of your excursion to the cliffs

Great museum. Interesting and well thought out displays. A perfect stop on the way to Latrabjarg. We were able to get a sandwich and they had nice clean restrooms. Highly recommend.

It's beautiful! Was here on my birthday. Stopped at this museum on the way back from seeing the puffins. This is such an incredible island with a very preserved history and wildlife.

I stopped in to get a photo of the American Naval Aircraft. The staff was very helpful and provided great tips for some photography opportunities around Iceland. Coffee is amazing too!

What a cool place. Most people see the US military plane outside and leave but the museum is truly one of the most compacts amazing collection of fishing and sailing items that show a true reflection of life on iceland before tourism. The staff was also very helpful and friendly.

Lovely location and quaint display of historical memorabilia. Didn't get a chance to look too closely at the exhibits as the coach had a schedule to keep to.

A wonderful find, a proper old fashioned museum that let's the exhibits talk for themselves. No gadgets, no pretentious presentation. Lovely friendly staff, and a great setting.

When here and have 30 to 45 min to spend (was raining when we visited) go and haver a look inside. Thoug small, the museum is made with love and care, gives you a good impression about history and background of this country!

Great exhibit on local life. It is splitted in two main areas, one about common objects and the other about children labour in iceland. There is also a story about a rescue mission in Latrabjarg.

You can actually get into a plane and play pilots. Watch out for birds. There are several bird's nests in the fuselage and in the cabin. Great fun for kids

Great little stop with lots of history on the region and some neat artifacts, especially concerning birds, boats, and airplanes. Cozy cafe with WI-FI, helpful staff, and washrooms.
