We stayed here for one night on our way south from Western Fjords back down to Keflavik. It very much surpassed expectations, particularly the location which would be very difficult to beat, right next to some lovely waterfalls, and with mountains in the background.

If you cab, try for rooms 1-4, as they are in a small unit looking directly over the falls, so you get an amazing view from the window or the deck outside.

The restaurant has similar views and the food is good and quite reasonably priced for Iceland. Selection is not expansive but covers all the bases (meat, fish, burger, pizza, even a curry,). Additionally there are a number of clearly marked walks in the area, starting from the hotel, and numerous "trolls" in the vicinity to spot.

Great little spot on the side of the road. Great atmosphere with a real record player fantastic albums (we listened to Tapestry and Off the Wall). They have traditional food (the traditional duo was amazing) and burgers and pizza if that isn't for you. The troll garden and views are also worth the stop.

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. This place is actually in a nature attraction by itself. It has its own waterfall and a running river. Amazing.
Breakfast wss excellent and we enjoyed a dinner in the restaurant they are running with a good food and reasonable price.
It could have been excellent, but there are a major problem: The main big window is overlooking the parking place and the passway between the rooms and the waterfall. It is built so the bed is right behind the big window and everyone who passes by is looking at your bed and into your room. It actually means that the curtain must be shut down so that you cannot enjoy the view.
All in all it is an awesome place to stay in. Don't miss it.

We stayed here last night, our first night in Iceland and we're so happy we did. Lovely Campground/ hotel. Kids enjoyed the playground and troll walk. We didn't use the showers or hot tub bc we arrived late.
They had lots of available spots in the camp ground for our campervan.
Dinner and breakfast was delicious. Beautiful view of the waterfall from the dining room

The sleeping pods looked awesome! Would love to try one

Highly recommend this place! My 4yo wanted to stay at Fossatun 2 more nights 😁

We stayed at the Guesthouse here and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the café. The dinner was really delicious, had Mushroom soup and traditional Icelandic lamb goulash which were both awesome, its nice to get the "duo" menu option where you get to sample a couple items. My husband had the troll burger and enjoyed it too. For breakfast they had a nice buffet selection. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the grounds are beautiful with the overlooking waterfall river, the troll garden was hilarious and fun, the staff were very nice and friendly, and our room was comfortable and clean. There's also a nice lounge area with a massive record collection, nice place to sit to listen to music and enjoy a drink. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Review is for the restaurant only as we stayed elsewhere. The Rock 'n' Troll Cafe's food was delicious, and very reasonably priced - perhaps the best value in well-prepared food of our two week trip. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Call ahead for a reservation if you can.

Supernice set up: replica of an elf village with different amenities and a breathing view from the restaurant overlooking the waterfall beneath.
Superelaxing hot tubs available on site.
Very friendly staff and clean room.
The breakfast was also rich and varied.
Strongly recommended!!

Loved the place! The gem on the way from the glacier to Reykjavik. Nice view of the river, good food. There is a great selection of music there, there is a huge collection of vinyls with classic rock music and a vinyl record player of high quality. The staff is very friendly and can put the vinyl of your choice.

The food was good but the best part is the design and views. The restaurant is thoughtfully based with the beautiful views from the glazed terrace. Inside it's a huge collection of music albums and a playing gramophone.

We stayed in the guesthouse and it was excellent. Comfy beds, lovely and warm, clean bathrooms, and good cooking facilities. The hot tubs are excellent, a really good addition. The troll walk was good fun, and somehow the statues added to the landscape. The views are stunning and breakfast overlooking the waterfalls was a true experience. Definitely recommended.

Best place we ate at while in Iceland! We stopped by on our way back to Reykjavik after going on a glacier tour. The food was phenomenal. We sat in an enclosed patio with heaters, so it was plenty warm, and we got a great view of the waterfall right outside. We would definitely go back and recommend to anyone taking a trip to Iceland.

Great location. There’s a troll trail if you feel like going for a short walk, the owner has a great vinyl collection too which you can check out in the restaurant (explains the rock and troll concept). The room is clean and comfy. I can recommend.

AMAZING!!!
Great food. Unbeatable view. Very reasonable prices (maybe even cheap for Iceland).
Nice scenery for a small digestive walk right after eating.
Probably the best restaurant I've encountered in Iceland.
