Tommi's Burger Joint

After a long day of seeing the sites around the Golden Circle we decided to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday here. We love local places and this one seemed to fit the bill. We were greeted by the nicest cashier who asked if we were having a great time in Iceland (Southern USA drawl shows). The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the workers were awesome. We will recommend others visit when they travel to Reykjavik. We will be back!

Delicious burgers! No complaints! The front desk staff were very polite and friendly. We both tried the Classic burger (120g, $14 alone) and split the fries/drink (combo was ~$20CAD) we also tried the vanilla milkshake, it was also great--somehow, not too sweet! Quick service, decent prices for how expensive Iceland is.

Tommi's is a bit of an institution in Reykjavik, well worth looking at the history. There are plenty of locations to choose from all doing a simple menu that still has a good variety of burgers. We went for the steak burger, fries and sweet potato fries. All the food tasted amazing and there is a large section of toppings and sauces you can help yourself to so it becomes your burger. Highly recommended.

Yeah! What a burger, fries and shake. Loved it. The best part is they ask you if you want it medium or well done - just wow. A medium juicy patty in a burger joint - I may have to move here.

Of course I had the double burger - burp - I'm full.

I absolutely enjoyed eating here! Didn't want Icelandic food this evening, was missing a good old-fashioned American burger. Got it! Grilled to perfection with delicious crispy fries and a tasty beer. Oh! Nice, clean bathroom with a cabinet filled with baby changing items. Really thoughtful touch!

Had the large Ribeye steak. One of the best I’ve had in years. Well worth the stop, friendly staff and very clean restaurant.

The best burger we’ve found in Iceland. Chips are amazingly seasoned and the burgers are juicy and flavourful. Not a huge amount of seating inside but most customers seem to take away!

Great tasting food, great staff, and unlimited refills on soft drinks. Menu has an English translation, which is helpful for those of us who aren't fluent in Icelandic, and the staff could speak English fluently. Very friendly and happy staff who were eager to help. As with most things in Iceland, the price was high, but the quality of food was phenomenal. The music was good and created a very fun and funky atmosphere with lots of blues and 60s/70s/80s rock. Overall a great little burger bar with a rustic feel and awesome, tasty food!

I have tried some fancy restaurant’s burgers in Iceland, but their burgers are and will be the best one! they are not only within reasonable range, they are soo so delicious… they grill your patties on fire in front of you and the taste is just amazing. highly recommend!
