Beautiful park. It has really good roads to bike, skate and walk. It has cute bridges, the water runs everywhere, wonderful small waterfalls. Perfect for family, enjoy time with your pets, doing a picnic and be in touch with nature. Really easy to access by bike, scooter or bus. You can find rabbits and ducks in some places.

Please take a little time to visit here. A fantastic little hidden gem, right in the middle of Reykjavik! It has much of the beauty so many people travel far across Iceland to see, all in a little park. We walked around and enjoyed nature, the air was so incredibly fresh.

We had a lovely long walk exploring all the different paths. Lots of little hidden treasures to find, and stunning views. When icy the paths were quite slippery, so if you visit in the winter i would reccomend shoe spikes. We couldnt quite tell where the trail was as the path was covered in snow, but it was all so beautiful that it didnt really matter

Biked here from Brekkuhjalli in Kopavogur. Entry point bit west of Kermoafoss, which was the highlight of the valley. Saw wild black and tan rabbits (originally brought over as pets). There are at least 3 other small waterfalls spread out through the green space. Ran into a science museum. People were also out picking wild mushrooms. If you're a visitor without access to a car, this is one of the closest place be one with nature :) reachable by bus, bike or the increasingly popular e-scooter.
Didn't see a designated place to lock my bike though.

Even though it was April and most flowers and plants weren't out yet, the park was a special find. It was near the studio my wife and I were staying at. We didn't explore it till the end of our trip but it became one of our favorite parts. It's a beautiful park that follows two rivers. The landscape is covered in mosses and grasses growing over the volcanic rocks. There are water falls and gnarled birch trees and stunted pines. The forested area has an eerie wonder to it.
Oddly enough there is an area full of rabbits, which it turns out, are not native to Iceland. Someone at an old farm just feeds them and let's them live outside. They will take food from you. It was very strange to see a sign with a bunny on it, then see dozen of fat domesticated rabbits hopping about. The park is definitely one of the hidden gems of Reykjavik.

Great place, very nice to see the rabbits! But please don't scare them, better bring some carrots or other vegetables and feed them💟 So much love

Perfect place for walk, hike, bike or run. Here you will experience a sample of Iceland nature. If you park near a club house going down the trail and turn left you will find majestic cascades. LOVE IT.

A hidden gem just outside the city. Spend your afternoon enjoying the beauty of quaint waterfalls, blooming lupines and cozy woodland forest. Well maintained walking and riding trails (for both bikes and another for horses), a wonderfully enjoyable area to enjoy nature.

This my favorite outdoor area in Reykjavík. The photo is a elfhouse and there are many in this Elkiðaárdalur valley.

Being close to the capital but still a large forest makes it a really good place to relax. I also love the two rivers who run threw the valley.
