Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse

The owners are so welcoming, and the location is beyond lovely. I made friends with the horses. Here is a picture of the northern lights I took in front of the guesthouse. Yes, rooms share a bathroom but each room has a private sink so it was not a problem at all. I plan to stay here again!

My family stayed at Minna-Mosfell the first week of August 2021. We were originally supposed to take this trip in June of 2020 but the pandemic caused us to push back plans a few times. Sigga was gracious and understanding with every email as I originally thought we could come Aug 2020, then June 2021, and finally August 2021.
Our time at the guest house was wonderful. Sigga wore a mask every time we engaged her (my children are not old enough to be vaccinated.) She was respectful of our wish to keep our boys safe on this trip.
She stocked our fridge with fresh eggs from her chickens, bread, jam, fruit, milk, coffee, etc. She helped give directions to a local grocery store, so we could pack lunches before venturing out to explore. She also gave directions on local ATMs, so we could get cash to pay for our visit.
I highly recommend this BNB. It's in the center of all that you might want to see (the Golden Circle, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Vik, etc.) The rooms are clean, the kitchen is well stocked, and the owners are so kind.

I cannot recommend Minna-Mosfell enough. Gudrun is an amazing host and will help you plan your time in Iceland based on your desires and the weather! The Guesthouse is in a perfect location for day trips.

Just look at Trip Advisor, this was the number 1 guesthouse in Reykjavik area in 2013,2014 and now 2015. We stayed there and know why it is number 1... it is a 'guest house' and now I know what that means, we were certainly treated as Guests, but probably it would be more true to say were treated like Royalty. It is a little outside Reykjavik but don't let that put you off.. I'd suggest discussing any plans/questions with the proprietors and they will be more than happy to give good advice.

Best holiday accommodation I've stayed in ever. Even better than a 5 star hotel!!!! Great hosts and great facilities!

Amazing place just like home

Un lugar alucinante. Habitaciones limpias, bien cuidadas y decoradas con muy buen gusto. El entorno es fantástico rodeado de naturaleza y animales. Sigga es una fantástica anfitriona, que nos dio mucha información.

Mit Abstand das beste Guesthouse in dem wir übernachtet haben! Sehr nette Gastgeber, die einem gute Tipps für Ausflüge und Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben haben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, insbesondere die Pfannkuchen. Nachmittags gab es selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Zur freien Verfügung standen Kaffee und Tees. Der Hot Tub wurde auf Wunsch frisch gefüllt. Die Zimmer waren sehr angenehm und geräumig. Alles war sehr sauber.
Insgesamt eine Wohltat nach und vor unseren Flügen dort übernachtet zu haben!!
