Great place to take a walk, we parked at p5 and walked about 10 minutes to see logberg. There's a nice path that's easy to walk.

Some really amazing law stuff happened here over a thousand years ago, and that's really cool. And then: Hey kids! Look! Parliament!

Now, there's a flagpole.

So, we didn’t really read up too much on this place before arrival, all we knew is that this place is very historic and used to be a political meeting point and that the law some was where new laws were announced nationally. We couldn’t actually figure out which stove that was the law stone, but figured it might have been moved or eroded, and probably stood where the flag stands now. The place might not seem like much from the outside, but if you know what this place is before visiting, it will make a world’s difference on our experience

Came here in January to see the tectonic plates and what we got was one of the most beautiful panorama views of our trip. Very interesting spot geologically and historically for iceland. A must stop for all tourists

Absolutely gorgeous and full of historical, cultural, and geological significance. There is some educational signage along the walking path so you'll know what you're seeing, but read up in your guide book first so you'll fully appreciate. In winter, consider bringing a pair of easily donned slip-on cleats in case the party is icey.

Even in the rain, it is certainly worth a walk up the fissure - the views are still fantastic! You could easily spend a few hours here, but unfortunately we only had an hour as part of a tour.

I love the rock formations. You can walk through the mini valley and have a close look at the rocks. Wonderful patters of various designs. There are signs around that shows ancient times where the first parliment was in session. A must see.

A great piece of history. Just interesting to see and feel how they made councils here and decided the fates of the tribes. All the chieftains would get together. It's nice to imagine. We actually parked at P5 instead of P1 visitor center based on a recommendation but regretted it as the view from P1 is much superior and there's less walking. There's not much walking in general but distance perceptions change when with little children.

Very cool. Meeting place for the annual Icelandic Parliament for over a millenia. Big rock makes a natural ampithetre with good acoustics and a great views. Sits directly on one of the fault rifts of the Mid-Atlantic Divide. It's hard to compare to anything else, but for Americans, think of Independence Hall combined with Yellowstone.

Beautiful area. Such amazing history has happened here. My first visit to a unesco site. Be sure to pay for parking or you'll get a friendly reminder before a ticket :)

The story behind this place is what makes it magical. The view is extraordinary as well, well preserved and with plenty of information available for visitors.
