We planned this in on our trip over to the south side of the island, this was a highlight of my day. A fantastic warm and friendly greeting on a very cold Icelandic morning. Definitely get an egg to boil they are definitely the best eggs I’ve had and the bread oh my god it was delicious the park itself has a geyser that goes off about 20 mins or so and it’s impressive to see. When we arrived I think there was only us a few people turned up but it’s definitely not as crowded as others and it’s perfect it may be over looked and it shouldn’t be great price great customer service and where else can you boil a egg and try the bread made on site. Definitely recommend and when we come back to Iceland it’ll be back on my itinerary thank you so much. We enjoyed our visit and chat.

Lovely place hold by a lovely welcoming lady ! the entrance is a small greenhouse split in two parts, a tea-room and the small garden part in the back. Here you can enjoy your coffee, home-made bread baked in the geothermic oven outside and maybe the eggs that you can cook in the boiling geothermal water outside ! The whole place is small but very full of stories and history, with explanatory panels, a small geyser and a lot of natural pools. The entrance is only a few euros expensive, it was a nice break during our trip.

There are the low ratings for this park probably because of the size but I thought it was as interesting and neat educational place. We ate some of the bread that was baked in the geothermal oven, and they gave us the option of booking our own egg. It was a short walk and short visit for a quick review of what to expect as you drop be further into the National park.

Although the hot springs have stopped after the big earthquake of 2008, there's still plenty to see, e.g. the geyser. You can boil eggs in a hot water hole and try some bread that was baked by using geothermal heat.

Lovely stop on our way to Reykjavik for a small entrance fee. We boiled the eggs and had some great lava bread as a small lunch. The ladies running the place are very nice. Part of the place is a greenhouse where plants are grown that are *definitely* not native to Iceland, it was nice to visit it. It was also pleasantly warmer than outside.
By the way, the eggs to boil are provided there, you don't need and shouldn't bring your own ones (for some reason we misunderstood other reviews before visiting).

I enjoyed this for a modest entrance fee! The egg boiling & mud foothbaths are great ideas to maintain interest in the site after the earthquakes of 2008 caused the hot spring pools to dry up. Also, the Geysir isn’t a real one & is actually a borehole to maintain tourist interest. I think the site remains interesting though as you get the chance to look at empty hot spring pools. If you have already visited the Geysir geothermal area on the Golden Circle before here, you already know what full pools look like. My egg was over cooked because I spent too much time looking at the information boards lol. Still tasted nice with the lava bread though. Didn’t have time to take a foot mud bath, as the site was closing soon for the day otherwise I would have done!

A nice stop while on the road. It gives you a sense of the geothermal uses, as you have a chance to boil an egg. Also the exploding geiser every 20 min is fun. In the summer you can do a foot mud bath which seems cool. About 30-40 min is more than enough time there.

Beautiful place with a lovely owner! She explained about the area and the place.
You can boil an egg in the hot spring, the Lava bread is also great. I'd recommend boiling eggs, walking for 10-15min around the park, and then coming and sitting in the sitting area under the vines

Nice small geothermal area. They have a geyser that erups every ~20 min, a few hot springs ( though quite a few dried out after the 2008 earthquake) and a nice visitor center with good background info. Very friendly staff. And you can eat bread that was baked in hot volcanic steam and boil an egg in the hot volcanic water. Definitely an experience and a nice thing to do if you stay in the area and have 30min to spare

This place is fantastic! The ticket costs about 4€ and you can see a geysir, many hot water ponds and for 0,50€ extra you can cook an egg directly in one of the hot ponds! I can guarantee that it will be the best egg you’ve ever tasted! The lady at the entrance is very nice and welcoming and it makes for a much better experience!

You should definitely visit here to boil eggs in a hot spring and eat them with pleasure with a slice of signature Icelandic bread baked in lava. The hosts are very hospitable, they treated us to tomatoes and grapes grown here.

Such a lovely little park where you can learn about geothermal areas (and how earthquakes change the surroundings), see a geysir, and boil your own egg in a geothermal spring and enjoy it with lava bread that's made in the cute little oven in the park. Very fun & yummy! The lady at the entrance explaining how to boil the egg is super friendly & nice too! Highly recommend visiting :)

One of the best value for money experiences we visited in Iceland!

Visited after an intense snow storm and some nightmare driving the day before. We joked at the time that it was such a contrast of activities! So relaxing and good fun cooking an egg in the hot spring water. Little trail around the park with information and a geyser that goes off every 20mins. Egg tasted great 👍

Great park. Wonderful cafe. Boiling an egg and eating the rye bread is a must; the eggs are procured locally, and the lady serving them is absolutely right in that they taste really good!

We liked the eggs so much we had to buy more. And not too expensive either; I think it's 400 kn to enter the park, and 150kn for an egg (not 100% sure on the price but it's around there). Definitely stop by if you're in the area. The walk along the nearby geothermal river is a must as well.

A relatively cheap attraction just off the main road. There is a small geyser there that erupts about every ten minutes.
Not a bad place to take kids, as you can purchase eggs or bread and cook them in the hot geyser water, or you can dip your feet in the warm pools that flow from the ground.

Lovely place to see historical development of Iceland almost century ago. To be in the morning is best for me as I have some breakfast cooking egg in steam water with local bread with butter.
