Steikhús Minniborgir

Sometimes you just need a solid burger, even when you are in Iceland and are supposed to be trying all of the local delicacies…. After a long day of snorkeling Silfra and exploring Thingvellir, we were tired and starving. A quick google search, surfaced Steikhus Minniborgir, a short drive from Thingvellir and is the restaurant attached to the hotel. Large menu selection, plenty of seating indoors and outside, definitely something for everyone, large portions, fast and friendly service. We settled on burgers, double burgers, cheesesteaks, regular fries, sweet potato fries, beer, and cider. Burgers came out properly cooked, medium with light pink center, on large sesame buns. The famished were soon the satiated. An ice cream to go and on with the next adventure in the land of the midnight sun. Visit date 6/16/2023.

Best lava cake I've ever had and lovely staff.

Good quality steak, excellent fries and asparagus. Service was friendly, semi outdoor area and terrace nice. Definitely a full recommendation.

We stopped in here driving back from Geysir. The burgers are good value and the portions are huge. Tasted good too. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a bite to eat at lunchtime.
