Tip:

Walking down from the car park sign “access to beach” is much easier with gentle slope (but note it’s muddy — so wear waterproof shoes, and at high tide it may be difficult to walk down there), than from the viewing platform (drier, but much steeper).

Then after admiring it at a close distance, you can walk up the slope (a bit of climbing and hands required) to the viewing platform, minding the strong wind though.

There’s a sign at the viewing platform discouraging visitors from walking down from that steep “path” as well and recommending you to walk down from the carpark.

It’s gorgeous and amazing during sunset (even though the weather at my visit was not ideal with lots of cloud).

Please be considerate and not leave any waste there.

It’s breathtaking. This earthly formation is stunning! We went in early April 2023 and the tide was low, allowing us to get up so close. Make sure you have waterproof everything for this visit! Enjoy!

There is approx. 25 km drive on a gravel road. The place is amazing, you can watch from the upper platform or go down to the beach. With a bit of good luck you can see the seals too.

Interesting rock formation and running stream. Would have been perfect for us if we arrived during low tide as one can walk even closer. Allocate a lot of time if you want to come close to the rocks during low tide.

Here definitely a attraction I love the most during my winter stay in Iceland
There’s path that you could follow and the view is absolutely stunning

Unique and beautiful lava rock formation with lots of seagulls nesting on it. The road to get here is a gravel road with a lot of potholes. Parking is free and it is a short walk without stars to view. If you climb to the bottom you will get a great view but know that it is not at all an easy hike and a dangerous one with loose rocks. I did see another trail to get to the bottom that was more of a trail but of course I saw that afterwards so look for that first. It is to the right of the steep climb. This is a little out of the way but I thought that this stop/detour was well worth it.

Excellent destination! There was some road construction being done so there was a lot of loose gravel. But we made it with our little car.

A beautiful place, must visit in Iceland. Just know that the road is bad and theres a long drive from the main road. The view is good from the observation point but its better if you go down to the beach (there is a pathway at the parking lot, dont follow the crowds that go left , take the right path). We spend 2 hours there, great place for a walk, lots of seashells to collect.

A very cool rock in the ocean. It was a short walk from the parking lot to the overlook where you will have a great view of not only the rock but the surrounding black beaches. Dress warm because the overlook is very windy and cold. After which, you can take a very steep trail (be careful!) Down the hill and stand on the beach itself. From the bottom there is a nice little place where you can see a waterfall coming down. You can get a great view of the rock and even approach it if you are not afraid to get a little wet. The water can be pretty cold as well! However if you come at the right time when the tide is low you can approach without getting wet at all. The water is very shallow and the sand extends out all the way to the rock. Also the birds love to hang out around the rock! I highly recommend stopping here!!

Amazing view. The parking is available. You can walk s bit through the path to watch view from Cliff. Breathtaking view. You can go down to the beach and take a stroll. Its a bit slippery and rocky, but still ok. We didn’t (no one we saw did) as it was very windy and there wasn’t enough time.

It's a little out of the way. But it is an interesting rock formation. A map we saw said sometimes seals are here. We did not see any. They are mostly here starting may. Instead of going back the way you came to around the point. There is also a beach on the other side that seals visit. This was not that crowded. The walk from the parking lot is not that bad.

The hike down is a bit steep but definitely worth it. Was surprised by a nice waterfall. Very nice spot to take drone shots

Very beautiful place! The hike down is nowhere near and “rock climb” as someone mentioned. If you feel like it - you can always climb in a steep section, but there is a nice trail, which is not a climb, not even a scramble. Posting some photos below

Very interesting rock formation with lots of seagulls. Five min wall from the free parking, although a bit difficult approach because of the ice. Worth seeing

It is definitely a must visit site. How aiming it was naturally made and it stands still bravely on this peninsula.

Is a very famous rock with form
Of elephant 🐘 if you go down and take the picture in the sand .

Is very dangerous and totally risky, not necessary give the life for a selfie.

Is a ugly road, coming for the principal road 1 is not far away but you need to be very slow so makes like 30 mins to be there and another 30 to return.

We really wanted to visit is ok, but we take pictures I. The top more safe but don’t looks like the famous elephant.

Yo need to walk 5 minutes is a easy road no Stairs

You decided

I got distracted by the sea lions at the beach nearby before visiting here. It is a beautiful place to see it.
