This was part of the Golden Circle tour and it was one of the greatest waterfalls to witness, this looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie with the great wide river and the deep rifts.
It’s truly stunning in winter, quite dramatic and definitely not to be missed

A showstopper!! This place is epic, the waterfalls are amazing to look at, the views are the best thing about it. Once you seen the waterfalls, you have to stop in the cafe at the shops and visitor centre the food is there is awesome. Lovely gifts and memorabilia in the shops. In the distance you can see the glaciers, the sheer size of these are amazing !!! Would recommend stopping here 👌

It was a clear, cold and windy day when I visited the site. Again, my nano spikes were the MVP that allowed me to traverse the icy paths safely. Beautiful waterfall. Just amazing!

This was part of my tour of the golden circle, and what a treat it was to eat lunch looking over the waterfall with a glacier behind us. It's no wonder it was packed when we visited because it's such a beautiful location and a must-see on the golden circle tour.

Part of the golden triangle tour, but would certainly visit this separately given the chance.
Amazing view from every angle ...
Bitterly cold but give some amazing pictures

Spectacular sights to see Specially in winter as the water fall freezes in December, definitely a sight to see for everyone and a great place to get some amazing pictures! There's 2 routes you can take when you arrive up high or down the bottom, only about 50 steps to go down, we did both and it was amazing to see the waterfall from different angles. The coach tour had wifi which made it alot easier

I was astonished after seeing Gulfoss. Its beautiful. Scary, huge and dramatic. See the pictures yourself, but no picture can do the justice to live experience.
The gorge created by the river is beautiful.
Site is free to visit. There is ample parking. And a cafe with several food options including vegetarian options. Shops are also nice to buy some souvenirs.

Out of the dozens waterfalls of Iceland that I’ve seen during my trip to Iceland (out of the thousansds that it has) I found Gullfoss the most spectacular. The shear force of the water is breathtakind and scary at the same time.

One of the greatest waterfalls to witness, this looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie with the great wide river and the deep rifts. We went to see the place super early in the morning around 6-7 AM in order to avoid the tourist buses, and honestly the best decision ever. You really get to actually enjoy the greatness of Mother Nature without the hundreds of selfie sticks and shouting Asians haha.

Absolutely stunning! It’s amazing to see where the two tectonic plates meet & the impact of it all.

Amazing waterfall! So powerful and beautiful. There were some stairs to go closer to the water, but it was closed (probably too dangerous in winter time).

Worth the drive once you are doing the golden circle. The lower parking lot brings you closer to the waterfall than the top one. Make sure to bring a coat if you want to stand in front of it, the wind will be heavy and some drips might land on you.

Very beautiful falls, lots of water and one can get close if willing to walk. Ware waterproof clothing.

One of the standout places to visit on our trip to Iceland, Gullfoss was definitely worth the stop. The short hike down to the falls is straightforward, but would advise bringing a good pair of shoes, as the rocks and terrain can be a bit slippery. Even before arriving at the base of the hike at the falls, the view is breathtaking. Upon arrival at the falls view landing area, you can't help but pause and take the moment in. It was a surreal moment to take it in, and would do it again without hesitation. A must stop if you come to the land of fire and ice.

The views here are some of the best I've ever seen anywhere!
You park in a very normal looking car park & walk along, then the view opens in front of you like nothing I've seen before
A massive 2 stage waterfall that just takes your breath away, please see this if you're in Iceland 🇮🇸

Genuinely one of the most spectacular places I have visited in my life, an absolute must if you visit Iceland. Viewing the waterfall is an awe inspiring moment.

Gullfoss is a huge waterfall that belongs to one of the many attractions of the so-called golden circle, i.e. selected places around Reykjavik.
Its width is according to information: 11 and 21 meters on several rock ledges leading one after the other. I will say one thing - it is a huge amount of water that is poured from top to bottom every second. The sound of the overflowing stream drowns out everything around. It bounces off the bottom, the walls of the rock and creates a kind of barrier between the platforms for people and the waterfall itself. It is simply impossible to take in the whole spectacle with your eyes. We are surrounded by nature on all sides.
If it was possible to give a rating higher than 5 once a year, I would do it in this place. This is one of those attractions that simply cannot be described in words, photos or video. The atmosphere and anxiety that water evokes in this place is something that nothing but a personal experience can convey.

Spectacular falls but lots of visitors. There's a restaurant and gift shop nearby. Public toilets available at the restaurant.

My photos and videos simply do not capture the sheer mass and grandeur of one of Iceland’s largest falls! We visited in October and the closer / lower observation deck was closed due to icing. We still had stunning views from the further area. After our trek to the falls and back, we warmed up with the most delicious lamb stew we had had on the island! Would definitely recommend!
