A Royal Oasis in Tehran - Parsian Esteghlal Hotel

From the moment you set foot in the Parsian Esteghlal Hotel, you can feel the pulse of history echoing through its walls. Once known as the Royal Hilton, the hotel was a symbol of a modern Tehran before the Islamic revolution - an emblem of elegance, majesty, and refinement. Today, it retains its royal charm, subtly whispering stories of a rich past.

Every spring, I make my annual pilgrimage to Tehran for the Persian New Year, eager to immerse myself in the traditions and celebrations that make this time so special. Throughout the years, I have explored various five-star hotels across the city, but no matter where I go, I always find myself returning to the Parsian. Like an old friend, it welcomes me with open arms and makes me feel right at home.

On each visit, the warm and delightful staff go out of their way to ensure that my stay is nothing short of perfect. They know me so well that they always reserve a room for me on the highest floor, affording me stunning views of the city that truly are a sight for sore eyes.

Nestled perfectly with a commanding view of the posh northern side of Tehran, the hotel offers unrivalled accessibility to Tajrish and Fereshteh, making it an ideal base for exploration or business. Yet, the bustling city feels a world away when you're gazing at it from the comfort of your room.

One of the unique features that sets Parsian Esteghlal apart is the spectacular display of artworks. Every corridor, every room, is adorned with pieces from Iranian contemporary artists, adding an artistic touch to the luxurious ambiance. These corridors feel like silent galleries, whispering tales of Persian artistry into the ears of those who walk them.

No review of the Parsian would be complete without mention of the staff. The service is impeccable, and the staff are more than just courteous - they're genuinely lovely, making your comfort their priority and adding a personal touch to your stay.

And then there's the breakfast - a culinary delight that you'll be dreaming about long after you leave. The spread is complete with fresh Persian bakery items that fill the dining room with a delicious aroma that's impossible to resist. Each bite feels like a celebration of Persian gastronomy, a true treat to start your day.

The Parsian Esteghlal Hotel, to me, is more than just a hotel. It's a symbol of Tehran's elegance, a keeper of its history, and a home away from home. I look forward to many more springtime stays in this charming abode.

The lobby and the rooms definitely need updating. As far as the location goes it would be a perfect place to stay, if you are on a business trip or visiting the Tehran Convention Center/ Exhibition. But if you are visiting Tehran as a tourist, I definitely recommend other hotels, because you really can't walk to anywhere. The breakfast buffet is good enough for a hotel. The prices are reasonable. The staff are extremely nice and helpful.

I stayed at the western tower which has not yet been refurbished but there's an elegant air of genuineness to it that I love and cherish. The rooms are quite old-fashioned but the design is timeless and the view of the city, both at night and during the day, is breathtaking. There are a numbee of restaurants and cafes on the premises so you have a range of choices when it comes to dining. Good access to the north of the city and much better air quality than anywhere closer to downtown.

A magnificent souvenir of the past architecture and one of the first hotels in the whole Middle East, which was launched in Iran in the early 1950s.

A wonderful hotel in Tehran. Very comfortable, food is really really good. Breakfast buffet menu is really impressive. Rooms are clean. Rates are very reasonable. A very big hotel with around 500 rooms. They also have event halls.

The once 5 star hotel is nice but old and sick. It needs help. It needs new paint or wallpapers in the rooms. Better art work and more efficient air conditioning units. The breakfast is awesome. The staff in the dining rooms are wonderful. Maryam Khanom, Sahar khanom and their friends were the best. The young lady at the technology center was wonderful with fixing our mobiles and computers. Nice people at front desk once you get to know them.

Good hotel, best breakfast I've seen in Iran, amazing views from hotel rooms, the staff was friendly and professional, but at the end they counted wrong rates between euros and British pounds (which I've used to pay)- easily solved.
