A must see if you are in Tehran! Golestan Palace is full of opulence from the Royals that reigned the beautiful land of Iran. Foreigners are expected to pay higher entrance fees than locals. There is so much history and architectural beauty within the palace grounds.

Golestan Palace occupies pride of place in Tehran's history. A heritage site today it is a complex of buildings and gardens initially built buy the Qajar rulers and used as their court and residence. Later on much of it was re-done and was finally used by the Pahlavi dynasty as an official space largely for formal receptions. It's ended as being an amalgamation of Persian and European art and architecture. It is opulent. It is surrounded by lush gardens. It will take a large part of the day to see it all, so keep sufficient time aside.I fall in love with this magical historical site. Badgir Building and mirror hall were more than amazing. Totally brilliant and for me one of the best in Iran and whole world.

The most important reason to visit this palace is to know more about Qajar kings. It is a very huge palace with different parts, so make sure you put enough time in your itinerary. Salam hall I think is the best place there. The problem is parking so get ready to have more time to find a place to park your park.

Golestan Palace, located in the heart of Tehran, is a captivating blend of history, art, and architecture that offers a unique insight into Iran's rich royal heritage. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, culture aficionados, and anyone interested in exploring the opulent legacy of Persia.

Golestan Palace, dating back to the Qajar era, has witnessed centuries of political intrigue and cultural transformation in Iran. The palace served as the residence of Qajar kings and rulers, making it a historical focal point for those interested in Persian dynasties. Furthermore, the presence of traditional Iranian music and performances within the palace compound adds an extra layer of cultural immersion for visitors.

Visitor Experience (★★★☆☆):
While Golestan Palace is a treasure trove of Persian history, the visitor experience can be somewhat challenging due to limited signage and descriptions in English. Additionally, the presence of a well-maintained garden provides a peaceful retreat in the heart of bustling Tehran, making it a pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll.

Foreigners are charged too much as an entrance fee. On June 2, 2023, we paid 6.500.000 toman(irr/10) per person. Visually, the palace is perfect. The Garden with the Pool and the room with the mirror were the most striking places.

The palace is near 450 years old, its built by Aqa mohammad khan the first king of Qajar dynasty. The palace is located near tehran old bazar and is very interesting. The mirror hall which has built with thousands of small mirrors is very amazing. The paintings are also very intersting, some of those are paited by famous painters like kamal ol molk, and some are gifts from kings of other countries. You’ll enjoy it. At the enterance you can buy an audio guide which explains the history of palace and every hall and room and also every pieces inside the palace.

the best and most unique museums in Tehran. It has a large and royal courtyard and several buildings, each of which is a separate museum from the Qajar era in Tehran. In addition to its precious paintings, this complex has a rare collection of old photos dating back to 100 years ago. Everything is good, only I wish there was a shop to buy water or other necessities.
