The fire temple is one of the holy places of Yazd in which the holy fire is kept and taken care of. The fire has never turned off because there is a person taking care of it all the time. Zoroastrians stand toward fire and pray to Ahoramazda (God). This place feels really sacred, especially with the hymns being played. Cypress is important for zoroastrians, so you will see lots of them in there. You can also visit the old water reservoir under the second building besides the main one.

Yazd fire temple is the place where Zoroastrian sacred fire is kept in Yazd city and the prayer place of Zoroastrians living in this city. This fire temple dates back to the Pahlavi era; Although the fire that burns in it has been lit for more than 1500 years. In fact, the fire in the Yazd Zoroastrian fire temple is one of the three ancient and sacred fires of Zoroastrian followers from the Sasanian period, which is still burning bright.

It's actually a museum to learn about the details of the culture and faith of Zoroastrian people. They provided English information all over the place, which was a satisfying experience for an outsider.

Calm and cozy place. When you enter the temple no sound except hymns of Avesta. The temple is related for zoroastrians of Yazd. The story of fire is amazing and alao Faravahar is completely described there. There are also some exhibitions for pictures and their tituals do not forget to visit them.

In the Zoroastrian believe, air, water, soil and fire are 4 holy elements. In a Fire Temple, Zoroastrian believers keep a fire burning all the time. They believe that when the fire would die something bad will happen.
On the same location you also find a museum and a photogallery that give you some insight on Zoroastrianism.

I Love this Place. In its simplicity, recounts the story of an important Element, Fire, the Symbol of Zoroastrian Religion, the purest among God's creations, with its power of immediate transmuting everything it touches into a likeness of itself and for the flames that always tend upwards and symbolize our yearning for the Higher Life.
Yazd Fire Temple is a must-visit in your travel to Persia.
Take your time & enjoy your visit.

The city Yazd is very famous for it's history and tradition. It is important to mention that Persia created one of the oldest monotheistic religion in the world by the name of Zoroastrianism. Yazd is located in the middle of Iran and was the center of the Zoroastrianism. Atashkadeh is the place where the Zoroastrians pray and worship fire. It is indeed a beautiful place with most historical descriptions. Definitely a worthy place to visit

The Zoroastrian Fire Temple, also known as Yazd/Bahram/Behram Ateshkadeh, is a temple in Yazd, to the west of Yazd in Iran. A fire temple in Zoroastrianism is the place of worship for Zoroastrians. It is said to be Iran’s only temple housing Atash Bahram. It was built in 1934 and enshrines the Atash Behram/Bahram, meaning “Victorious Fire”. It is one of the nine Atash Behrams, the only one of the highest grade fire in Iran where Zoroastrians have practiced their religion since 400 BC; the other eight Atash Behrams are in India. The fire inside is said to have been burning since about 470 AD which is visible through a window from the entrance hall. The flame was transferred to Ardakan in 1174, then to Yazd in 1474 and to its present site in 1940. Above the entrance of this building, there is symbolic bird-man which is symbol of Zoroaster.
One hand holds a ring, which symbolizes loyalty, while the other hand is held up to indicate respect. The wings have three layers of feather, reflecting the Zoroastrian belief that you should think, speak and act decently. A pool lies ahead of the entrance. The overall structure is heavily influenced by Parsi fire temples in India.

Birth place of the Zoroastrian religion. The fire burning inside the Fireplace is believed to be burning since 2000 years. It is the religious belief of Zoroastrians to keep the fire burning at any cost. There are two galleries also on the left side of the Aatish Kadeh where history and main elements of the Zoroastrian religion have been portrayed.
Nice place to visit
