Dowlat Abad Garden

Dowlat Abad is one of the most beautiful gardens that we know as “Iranian garden” it is really amazing and I highly recommend to visit during night because of beautiful lighting

One of the most beautiful gardens of Iran, which is registered on UNESCO. It was built less than 300 years ago by the ruler of Yazd and has a Bazar, stables, harem, kitchen, mirror house (winter house), court house, and most importantly, the summer house which has one the tallest wind towers of the world. The middle pool makes the garden very special for photographers. The garden contains different kinds of fruit trees, especially grapes! (Not used for drinks nowadays). Inside the summer house, you will see some sash windows which make a beautiful lighting during daily sunshine. The summer house and the wind tower are octagonal based, which makes it different! The garden is open to visit day and night, almost every day. And you have to pay the entrance fee to enter.

Daulat Abad Garden is one of the sightseeing places of Yazd city, which is also considered as one of the world heritage of Iran and has been registered as one of the 9 Iranian gardens in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This beautiful garden, which is located in Chahar Minar neighborhood, is considered one of the oldest gardens in Yazd city. This garden will be great and beautiful whenever you see it.

Tip: As a foreigner, always ask for a ticket after payment of entrance. Mine did not issue a ticket automatically and may have pocketed the money.

Definitely go for sunset 🌅 so you get the gorgeous lighting of the stained mirrors inside.
The garden is also beautiful both in the day time and night time (has light work and music).

There is a cafe next to the monument and definitely walk along the water for a mental distressing session (seriously! 😌😌😌)

It was amazing🤩 the tallest wind catchers in the world working perfectly in over 40 centigrade. I really liked the place and the art that used almost 400 years ago 👍🏼

nice place to hang out when you're tired of dirt and mud brick walls, cool pavillons, high wind catcher, trees and hedges and a fountain. good for rest but i don't know if worth paying 200000 irr. there's a restaurant/cafe inside but it doesn't seem like it's a good one.

Dowlatabad Garden is a historical garden in Yazd, Iran. Its 33.8 meters tall windcatcher is the tallest adobe-made windcatcher in the world. I enjoyed visiting this world-famous monument. The municipality is constantly repairing the buildings which is great. The windcatchers work in a mesmerizing way and it’s enchanting observing how past architects came up with this beautiful monument.

The Dowlat Abad Garden in Yazd was developed in the 18th century. There is a very nice harmony between the garden with trees, flowers and water parties and the buildings. Above one of the buildings rises a very tall wind tower that is still operational.

olat Abad Garden, built around 1750, is a Persian architecture jewel which annually attracts thousands of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Iran. This beautiful garden consists of a pavilion that was built according to the original Iranian architectural style and a large garden and some other buildings.

Long pool in the shade of the tall cypress trees leads to the main entrance. On the way to the mansion, there are beautiful grape and pomegranate trees behind those tall trees.

The tallest wind tower of the pavilion inside the garden is conceivable from miles away. This traditional air-conditioning system of local houses around the desert in Iran is the essential elements at the residential structures. However, the exaggerated grand size of this wind catcher functioned perfectly well. Actually the Dolat Abad garden is also renowned for having Iran’s tallest badgir (the wind tower), that is standing over 33 meters; though this one was rebuilt after it collapsed in the 1960s.

The most significant characteristics of the design of Dolat abad Garden is believed to be the attempt of the architect in selecting tactful angles for providing the best views and landscape internally.
