Beautiful well maintained historic artifacts. I loved the brass room, glass room. Dresses worn in those times. A beautiful very old clock chime was the pinnacle of my visit...about 100 sat in utter silence for the hourly chime and then a thunderous applause of the audience.

Visiting the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad was an absolute delight! This museum is a treasure trove of art, history, and culture that takes you on a captivating journey through time.

The collection is nothing short of spectacular, featuring an exquisite array of artifacts from various civilizations. From ancient sculptures to intricate manuscripts, every exhibit tells a unique story. The attention to detail in the curation is commendable, providing a seamless flow that keeps you engaged throughout your visit.

The highlight for me was the incredible Veiled Rebecca sculpture - a masterpiece that left me in awe of the artist's skill and craftsmanship. The clock room is another must-see, showcasing an impressive collection of timepieces that spans centuries.

The museum staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to share interesting insights about the exhibits. The ambiance is serene, allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the rich history surrounding each artifact.

The architecture of the museum itself is a work of art, blending the old and the new seamlessly. The well-maintained gardens add to the overall charm, providing a perfect setting for a leisurely stroll.

A must visit treasure trove for history enthusiasts & tourists alike, it's my 4th time I guess & even now it enthuses me to explore & found lesser time fr a days visit. Maintenance can be improved of certain items as in historical furniture I suppose or so I felt due to dusty torn sofas if it's allowed for maintenance. Nevertheless the tour is an experience you cannot miss!

The museum is divided into zones comprising of galleries like manuscripts gallery, children gallery, carpet gallery and various other galleries. Each gallery has items used by the royal family and Salar Jung III.

I really liked the manuscripts gallery showcasing rare books in Arabic, Persian and even Sanskrit.

At the ground floor you will find Telangana Tourism cafeteria. Few shops in the premises selling antique items and other decorative items.

It's a great place for those who are interested in historical things, 2-3 hours required to complete the visit, canteen available inside, outside food not allowed.
Parking available but you may face shortage of space. Mobile/backpack not allowed, clock room available to deposit these things on payment basis. Mobile camera allowed on payment of Rs. 50/- per mobile.
It's better to take tickets online in advance.

If you are fond of the museum and history then this place is a must-visit place when you are in Hyderabad. The entry ticket is 50₹ and you have to pay an additional 50₹ for mobile photography. I would suggest taking additional photography tickets as there are many more antique things which you can click inside.
This is one of the best and biggest museums in India I have visited so far after the Indian Museum at Kolkata, the museum is so huge that at least you require half a day to discover it completely and peacefully.
The museum has two levels, the ground and the first floor both floors are filled with some super amazing art and pieces.
Every gallery is very exotic and you will end up fascinated by every art put on the display.
As this museum is huge you may feel hydrated so carry a water bottle along with you, you can refill the water inside as there are many water filters installed inside.
The pathway inside the museum is kind of confusing and it is kind of a jigzo puzzle.
You will get to see the art forms of many countries like Japan, China, countries from Europe etc.
The main centre of attraction is the clock which is installed on the ground floor and you can experience that as well.
I mean this museum offers so much to see and experience.

Amazed to see the collections of just one man that spread across 2 floors. Well maintained alleys rooms and lights add to the ambiance. For more details, the authority offers an app for an audio enabled guided tour. I haven't tried the same, but someone availed that the facility can comment on how helpful it is. Do not forget to sit on the chairs in front of the famous manual musical clock to capture the hourly chimes. Ivory room, clock room, and the double faced sculpture Mephistopheles & Margaretta are must watch.

One among the three national museum in the country. A Museum built extraordinary. Different galleries are placed in two floors. Which bears native as well as foreign collections. The foremost thing you should keep in mind is that , make sure you have at least 2-3 hours minimum to spend here. That much is the extent of this museum. We have to take additional tickets for mobile phones or camera inorder to take photo from inside the museum. Marble statue named veiling Rebecca built by an Italian is one of the main attraction. musical clocks are also one of the attraction. Drinking water, neat and hygienic toilet and wash rooms are maintained which is to be appreciated. Also a food court is there inside the museum. Which will help you to refresh during a 3-4 hours expedition inside the museum. Museum is differently able friendly too.

During my visit to the Salar Jung Museum, I admired the clean and well-maintained building and premises. However, the confusing numbering of rooms posed a challenge, emphasizing the need for improved signage. The museum provides free washrooms inside, but beware of the Rs 5 charge outside. While an audio guide is available, I faced difficulties, highlighting the importance of seeking assistance before entry.

Moreover, it's crucial to note that Salar Jung Museum restricts mobile phone camera usage without an additional fee of Rs 50. Visitors should be mindful of this policy to ensure a seamless and enjoyable exploration of the museum's treasures.

What I couldn't accomplish 12 years ago, did it this time!! 🤩

12 years ago, I went to South India tour with family, and didn't know I'll be getting only 2 hours to tour this museum.

1 hour for each floor, was what I estimated would take for an interested person like me to tour the museum.

So this time, I planned well and toured the museum for 5 hours straight. ⚡😌
Feeling very satisfied now.
Except the food court, everything was super awesome!!

The authorities have very cleverly created the system such that you will have to go but the super expensive food from the food court inside. They don't allow you to take your food inside. And there's no place to sit or relax briefly.

So ultimately you feel tired and hungry and have to buy from the food court.
I had to take the cheapest one - 1 samosa - 75 rupees. 🥲

Food court Not appropriate for vegans.
