Great place for a hike in day 1 & 2 for acclimatization.

Leh is at 3500m above sea level. Better to stay in the leh city before going to other high altitude places like Khar Dungla or Nubra etc if you are a tourist from low altitude place. When you are in leh city this hike has many advantages to visit other places in ladak.

Amazing viewpoint, peaceful not much of a crowd there are two routes to get there, if u prefer walking ill suggest take the stairs, its just 400m else u can walk the long way around which is less steeper and takes around 1.5kms. the view from the top is mesmerising u can view the entire leh city and mountains from top. id recommend visit around sunset time to enjoy the beauty of this place

Shanti Stupa is exactly what it sounds like. One of the most serene and peaceful places to visit in entire Leh. The view of Leh from the top is magnificent. You will enjoy your entire time there if you just visit around the sunset when you can have a brilliant look at the last rays of the sun illuminating the white snow capped mountains and turning them golden in colour. It also has an amazing place to meditate in the premises where you can sit for hours and feel as if moments have passed. It is a must visit place if you are visiting Leh.

Beautiful architecture and a great view from the hilltop. A must-place to visit in Leh. Sunrise and sunset are considered to provide the best views from Shanti Stupa. When we went in the evening, it was so peaceful, windy, and scenic, we were feeling not to leave the place. The view from the top is mesmerizing u can view the entire leh city and mountains from the top. It's uphill so you may feel tired going up.

The name itself tells everything about the place. It is place of worship of the buddhists. Located on a hill top with enough space to accomodate thousands of people. The view is just amazing.

It closes at 8pm and is having 30rs entry fee. A must go point if you are in leh.

One of the must visit place on your acclimatization days in Leh city. For the best view, visit during Sunset. The picturesque panoramic view and calmness in the air is so mesmerizing and overwhelming. Drive to Shanti Stupa is easy. Also there is cafe, where you can get some tea and snacks.

Very peaceful calm and quite. I was lucky to go to this place when there was very less tourist. Really felt peace as if lord Buddha was really giving his blessing to the entire place. After visiting the temple sat for hours in the cafe with cup of Shahi Kawa. Very relaxing indeed while watching the mountains and having sipping the warm tea. Please do visit this place and try not to talk much and watch your phone then you will understand the healing effect of the place.

The place is located at 3 km from main market . This is a budha temple . At the top the shanti stupa is located . A meditation hall is also available in which one may seat and meditate with pin drop silence . Per person ticket is 30 rs . Ticket price is for maintenance and development purpose as they mentioned there . Place is very much clean . Construction of main gate is going on . Parking place is available with no cost .

It's always good to be here whenever in Leh. Apart from the inner peace that one gets here once he/she is here is something that's hit one differently. Another plus point from the location per se is the panoramic view of beautiful Leh City and the snow clad mountains in the distance that one can view throughout the year.
The only negative point here is the people that come here. Even after things have been written boldly about not to shout within the vicinity of the Stupa one can find many the so called literate people shouting loudly as if it's a fish market.

A tourist attraction in Leh , it has magnificent aerial views of Leh town. The place has a parking space and ticket of Rs 100. There is a prayer hall with a beautiful Buddha statue where ine can sit and meditate. A bit crowded in peak season. Worth the visit.

Although its completely situated at the other side of Leh but personally apart from Leh Palace , I especially loved this place.
