Walkway at Kumarakom

Nice place viewing on St Peter's roman Catholic church

A beautiful pathway to walk and have a serene time. The walkway runs parallel to the backwaters. While walking you can enjoy ducks and beautiful boats anchored there. You can also see few men doing fishing and ladies washing their clothes or utensil in the water. At the end of the walkway is a church where you can sit and enjoy the vembanad lake. There are few resorts construction going on at the end and I am not sure how long this path would be available to the locals. At the end of the walkway in the lake you can enjoy the fish and crabs playing in the water

It was a wonderful experience, taking a walk along the Kumarakom Walkway. It is a serene little paved walkway which takes you right through the small boat channel onto the major lake of kumarakom. The view is just mesmerizing and quite attractive to all even if you are a boat enthusiast or not. Houseboats harboured in a line almost all the way throughout the walkway makes it a hot spot for photoshoots. The small patio like place at the end of the walkway acts as a place to sit, look at the view and relax, if it is not already occupied to it's capacity.

Quite place but water full of weeds. Neglected by government and local people.only interested in collecting parking fees of Rs 60 for just half an hour

One of the best resorts of kumarakam backwaters. Lots of villas for accommodation. The food here is really great. Especially if ur looking for Kerala style fish foods. The staff is quite friendly. There's a dock for houseboats so u can book one an get on from their dock. It stands facing the kumarakam lake. Really nice view.👌🏻

This walkway is at a walking distance from the Kumarakom Govt. Boat Jetty. It’s about 300m long and ends at a roofed viewpoint – the point where the canal join the Vembanad Lake.There is an adequately sized parking lot right beside the Jetty. A 300-metre walk from here, along the canal-side road will get us to the walkway. The walkway is fenced on both sides and fully paved with non-slippery tiles. Savour the view, feel the air, enjoy the walk.
There is a chapel near the end which is situated in the lake. This dramatic spot has been the location for many films, including the giant-hit Mohanlal flick – Spadikam
The trip could be extended to include a 30 minute (one-way) nonstop boat journey across the Vembanad Lake to Muhamma and back on a Govt. ferry service from the Govt. Jetty. Include a visit to the Bird Sanctuary located about 3kms away in Kavanattinkara/Kumarakom Tourist Complex and you have got a solid one-day trip in hand.

This is public walkway to vembanad lake and easy to get houseboats. Get a full view of vembanad lake and also view sun set from here
