New Passport Application Experience: Well there are so many bad reviews about this office, I can't really say that they all could be wrong. There are many areas which can be improved, like proper intake of scheduled appointments rather than mixing up multiple slots together, little polished behavior towards the applicants, putting up a digital display showing the current queue, drinking water service, and a few chairs for the elderly, women, or the needy, who are in queues.
That being said, once you reach inside, the overall process is fast and smooth. I would suggest this center if you want to get an early appointment rather than waiting for months which is the case with other RPOs. Here, you will get an appointment within one week's window. It will take 45-60 minutes for overall processing. Be nice with them and they will be nice with you.

Best passport office in India, cooperative, professional and humble officers. They should be getting be 10 out of 10 stars 🌟.

Nice place too crowded Everybody in High pressure staff really nice not getting appointments also but you need to try on exact time then you can get if someone need any help feel free to contact me

Appointment Process
I got an appointment of next week. There is no agent involved in appintment booking. The office releases 150 appointments every day for same day of next week at 9:00 AM. You have to book an appointment within seconds of clock hitting 9 o'clock. The other office in Chandigarh where passports can be made release appointments for the 3rd month from releasing month. So You have to wait for 3 months in other office. I waited for only a week in my case.

At Office Process
The security guard talks politely if the other person does the same. I didn't face any kind of issue in the office. The process was very quick and simple.
I just carried a printout of passport appointment and photocopies of the Aadhar Card, PAN Card & 10th Marksheet. They didn't ask for any other documents. They even told me that we need only one document. They told me to wait in waiting area. My turn came in 45 minutes. Officers clicked my photo and took my fingerprints. Then they gave me an acknowledgement slip and told me to go home and wait for Police Verification.
I don't know why people are giving negative reviews about this office.

As of now, My passport has been dispatched via a speed post. Hopefully I'll get my passport tomorrow.
In conclusion I got my passport in 20 days.
Remember I applied in Normal Quota. Tatkal Quota takes only a week for all the process.

I had received a show cause notice and a last reminder for which I was a bit worried... was not sure what the experience would be like after reading all the reviews on this page 🤔 but to my surprise the old uncle ji at the gate was working very efficiently and faced no problem in the entry 👍 next I was sent to counter number 2 where a young well mannered guy checked my file and said everything was fine and I could go back 👍 without any tension..
So guys my today's visit was pleasant 😊 ☺ and great..
By the time I reached home ludhiana I received a message stating that I had responded n visited the passport office .

Everything is Gud , issue resolve, Room no 202 Officer is very helpful, but only one problem Officer not ask to my kids sit down on chair, my kids still stand with me all time in front of Her, like 53 min, but both officer not asking to my kids sit down , very strange, and common thing is that both r lady officer, no body told to my kids sit down,

Excellent arrangement of passport service organized in three vans

Chandigarh RPO Sir Sh. Sibash Kabiraj is very nice and genuine person. He listens to the problems of applicants very patiently, understands the case well and take correct decision accordingly. We are proud of him.

Mr Sibash Kabiraj sir heading RPO Chandigarh is a blessing. He is the most helpful officer I have ever met so far. He patiently listened to my concern and told his staff to act promptly. I'm glad that i got my passport cause of Sir.

Well I had pretty good experience today. Went to Surrender my passport today as walk in. For some reason, applications for passport surrender can just walk in.
The officer helped me and i was done in 1.30 hours, which is amazing.

I'd like to thank Mr. Rawat, the Deputy passport officer, who hastened the process of renewal of my passport. He was polite and professional. During my time at the RPO, I noticed all appointments were referred to him and he was working tirelessly to answer all queries. Hats off to his public service.

For those of you who are planning to visit the RPO, I have a few suggestions:

Please book an online appointment.
Carry a printout of your appointment booking.
Carry a letter describing the purpose of your appointment.
Keep the conversation with officials at the front office to a minimum.
Insist on meeting a senior official, if you don't know who that person is, simply request to meet Mr. Rawat.
Avoid telephoning or writing an email to the office as you'd most likely not get a response.
Be calm, don't let the bureaucracy to you.

Standing ovation for Mr. Sibash Kabiraj and his entire team. Frankly, I had not expected much efficiency from a govt. institution. But, i was proved wrong. Many more people like me got their genuine cases cleared in a matter of a few hours.

I don't have the words to explain the kindness and need which the entire team of RPO Chandigarh did for my family. Keep it up and keep serving the people of our nation by your good deeds and help.

excellent service recently 18.8.2020 visited the office and they filled the enquiry form and after that they made a call to my son as his passport issues and cleared the issue after getting the requisite documents. very cooperative and excellent service of RPO,chd.

Amazing RPO Mr. Sibash Kaviraj is a model IAS officer with an excellent service to people who come with no reference. His excellence is also reflected through his excellent staff. I previously was issued with passport back in 2008 when the RPO was different and was very difficult to reach. I have short of work with RPO Chandigarh's excellent service presently.
