Lovely experience here with great tasty food. We had Masala Dosa and Egg Noodles with 2x Cold coffee - all of which were too good! Egg noodles took longer to serve but was definitely worth it. Service was friendly, no wonder they have lasted all these years. Only scored 4 for atmosphere as it was getting too humid inside with more people coming in, no fan was turned on that provided better ventilation.

I love their hot dog which is full of hot great stuff. This time it had been too crispy and hard but I usually love to eat here. Had a Dosa sambhar too which was good in taste. They have given the simple old classic infrastructure inside. But still it's almost full every time I enter there. You usually won't get a seat at lunch hours and it becomes very compact between every seat.

Excellent but Needs renovation & cleanliness.
Cooperative also needs Renovation.
Even Mahatma Gandhi Ji supports neatness & Cleanliness.

Coffee House is still living in 1920's but rates are as par with other good restaurant's.

Although was made with thoughts of Socialism but in reality practice Capitalism.
That's Irony of Coffee House.

The food was good, we tried a few new things and to our surprise everyone liked it.
Portion size is not disappointing. Overall you can have a decent time with your family over a nice binging.

Went there at night 9 30pm, the service was fast and the food was really good. I ordered masala dosa and coffee. The taste was quite close to authentic South Indian.

The menu is really budget friendly. And they have really interesting items not so much variety but the menu is simply amazing.
Also the sitting area will make you feel nostalgic.

Let's start with this, this place is nothing like you are expecting and at the same time everything you were expecting, it's an Indian cafe, yes, but it's like you've been take back in time in 1990's and you are visiting a coffee shop in Mumbai streets. It has that amazing authentic mumbaikar Indian vibe in everything, chairs, tables, fans, food and coffee, all amazing. Also it's very budget friendly, you can eat till your tummy is full under 400-300Rs. Every thing has that nostalgic taste of food you had when you were a child, even the coffee cups are that classic white cups we used to have back in the days. The food quality is good, the taste is good as well but depends on what you are looking for, it's more on the Mumbai side so maybe some people won't find it that special. But all-n-all a great place to eat at.
A must visit.

The Indian Coffee House in Chandigarh provides a lovely experience with its rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and its charming ambience. The nostalgic feel of the old furnishings makes it a comfortable place to have conversations. There are many different coffee alternatives on the menu, all of which are beautifully made and presented with a friendly grin. For those who love coffee and want to combine tradition and flavor in the heart of Chandigarh, this is the ideal location.

This place has inherent charm. And the testament to that despite several south indian and Cafe restaurants cropping up left and right, this place hasn't slowed down business. In fact during peak hours during the day there is hardly a place to sit.
If you like the old style table chairs and cutlery which are not fancy by any means but still fully functional and you have come solely for authentic south indian food and super polite staff then this IS the place.
My favourites here are wada sambhar and coffee. They are just unbeatable in taste. Equally mouth watering are Dosa idli and hot dogs. Highly recommended when you are in town.

It had 5 stars rating in 1977 for the food, coffee and service when I was a regular customer to this great eatery of South Indian origin. I’m glad that nowadays Google provided me with the opportunity to write my reviews on this establishment.
Lots of my youthful evenings were spent here when I used to live in Chandigarh as a student.

Too crowded .... Too oldish.... That's what new gen thinks.... But Indian coffee house is a place which started the cafe culture in this country. At Chandigarh this place invokes nostalgia, old world charm and super delicious dishes across the pallete.

We (Me And My Husband) Ist Visited This Place By Default in 2018 On our Ist Trip To Chandigarh , We Had Cold Coffee On Repetition , I say It Is A Must , The Food Is Rich And Delicious , A Very Curated Menu But It Tastes Awsome ,
The Place Has A 80's / 90's Vibe, Even the Waiters Wear Such Uniform , This Place Is Super Crowded So Good Luck Getting A Table Because I Believe This Place Is The Hub In 17 Sector . WHENEVER YOU ARE IN CHANDIGARH MUST VISIT !!!!!

It's name is enough because both quality and quantity have a positive words of mouth from every person. Moreover, fast food is too delicious and delivery is so swift that's why I will give it high five.Furthermore, nowadays,it is earning too much customers owing to the warm hospitality and people love their wisdom.Last but not the least, lighting of this restaurant is too sexy and it increases the beauty of this restaurant alot of.Love Punjab Love Chandigarh

(a) Overview : Arrived in an Uber cab, I took a short walk and reached the restaurant at 09 am hoping for a scrumptious breakfast.

(b) Ambience : Took us a few years back, we were amazed by the interior, the eye catching dresses worn by the servers. The menu resembled the old railway menu complete with cutlets, dosas, filter coffee.

(c) Highlights : The Mutton dosa which we decided to savour arrived in sometime, it was a delight. It was steaming hot, served with chutney and a tiny bowl of sambhar. I devoured each and every bite with a lot of zeal and thoroughly enjoyed my mutton dosa.

(d) Conclusion: Would certainly recommend on a visit to Chandigarh, it is still one of my favourites. The chutney that comes along with the dosa is appetising. I left a tip for the server and exited the sector 17 market to proceed for other commitments lined up.

This place is not that spacious and no modern art is there to wow you, but for most of the time you will have to wait outside as the tables might not be empty. I have been there twice in my recent visit and in both the instances I have to wait. I visited in lunch time. Food is the one thing why many people come here. You will find people from different age groups here. Dosa is famous here, but to taste something different I tried Mutton chowmin, Paneer Pakoda and they were delicious. The chocolate shake was too good and you will seldom have the exact taste in this price. I also tried egg chowmin and mutton burger and both were delicious. If you are in Chandigarh and around sec 17 market do visit once

As usual all we are grown and had lit of visit to ICH. Always wonderful experience to be at Indian coffee house.
The location and yes the food. Everything is just perfect.
The kind of feel one get here cannot get anywhere else.
The food is always fresh and very tasty with a pocket friendly price.
The only one thing which is not good is the restrooms and the ambiance. Not so clean and hygienic the seat cover was missing.
This can be neglected though as otherwise everything else is good.
The old style uniform of staff is the thing which cannot be missed. You can feel previleged your self that this type of restaurants are still running with very entry level prices. We must support such initiatives and need to work on revamping these places to some extent.

As the name goes, you will definitely enjoy the coffee here. Apart from that you must try the mutton Dosa and Sambar Vada. The place is very very heritage in its get up and appearance, and will give you a feel of the yesteryears when it all started. The staff is well behaved and carry the legacy of the pan India presence of this coffee House. The place is cluttered up but then to think clutter free, this Clattered place might just be the right address.

Although we visited there on some festive season days, the food quality was very good and prices were cheap, the only problem at that time was that we waited for sitting for 15-20 minutes as it was more than full.
