You can visit the arch dam from cheruthoni dam entrance, the ticke charge id 25 rs for one person, the dam is under control of KSEB, no camera and mobile phone is allowed inside the dam area, you need to walk from cheruthoni dam to idukki dam about 3km, you can see elephant the beautiful view of nature from top of the dam, and Vaishali cave is the highlight of idukki dam, the cave built for getting building materials on the time of construction of the dam, and later the malayalam film Vaishali shooted in the cave, and after that the cave got the name Vaishali cave
Inside the dam there's one small shop we can buy water, ice cream, chocolate etc.

Awesome place but you are not allowed to carry electronic items to the dam area.

No cameras/electronic devices allowed. Physical checking and security scanning is done. Good to walk but it is 6km up and down. Battery Cart ride is good! Watch out the timings of cart. At ticket counter they said 5mins ride will start but when we went there, no vehicle was waiting. They made us wait 45 mins.

Idukki Arch Dam, an engineering marvel, is located in the South-Indian state of Kerala. It is an arch dam with a double curvature and is built on River Periyar. Precisely, the dam is constructed in a gorge between two hills, Kuravathi and Kuravan. It is at the height of about 550 feet and is a breathtaking sight in the otherwise rugged terrain along which has been built. With this height, it is one of the highest arch dams in Asia. Because of its massive size, the dam can be seen from quite some distance and the sight of the structure in between the granite hills is breathtaking. The surrounding is lush green, and the reservoir serves as a quick getaway for locals. As part of promoting hydel tourism, boating in the reservoir is open for tourists

Iduki arch dam is the best place for a one day trip .arch dam is located between two mountain named kuravan and kurathi . There you can goto caves on both mountain .cold climate and heavy scenaries .you can have bungee rides or is walkable nearly 3kms (up)phones are not allowed inside the dam . The entry is from cheruthoni dam then we need to go to arch dam .you can experience breezy cold air throughout iduki
