The Trek is quite a journey there are 2 ways to go from one from water fall and other is from temple we took waterfall way to start it's very steep but we liked it ,it took us 4 hours to reach to top and temple one to go down and most people said it was easier path to go down from but enough said we went there at peak December 25th but still no snow weather is very unpredictable so if you want to see snow chances are very slim plus when there is excess snow they shut down the Trek so it's upto you , whether you want to see the great view or snow

Wonderful place & it was my first trekking experience.
I hardly found security personnel anywhere around the place.
Some of the area was too thin for trekking (few meters).
Fresh air and keep trekking.
Few shops you’ll get during your trekking where you can rest or beverages.
Overall it was a great experience.

Lovely place to visit if you are in Himachal. Everything is just so fine about this place, best thing is you will find dustbin every 30-35 steps, town is clean and well maintained, you can cover the town on foot and there is so much to see. Beautiful market, enough food cafe's and ATM. Hotels and rooms are available easily. Must visit place. Need atleast 2-3 days to completely see the city. I will visit again soon.

Something's are beyond words, beyond explanation. It was a great experience. Amazing trek. Have stays available at the top- private as well as government. If you are carrying a tent with you before you pitch make sure it's far from the forest office. They won't let you do it and ask you to move from the locality, and they can be quite rude as well. But I will tell you the night you spent at Triund will be one amongst the best you have in whole life. Silence, stars, moon, mountains.

The trek is full with beautifull sceneric views.

If you are planning to go for a trek then must start from early morning. It usually takes 3 to 4 hour to reach out to the triund, so if you are started from early morning then you have enough time to capture all "beautiful moments".

Awesome experience on the trek. Around 4hrs of trek from Gullu Temple. Enjoy the view alongwith the Oak and Cedar forest. Couldn't pre-book tents so had to come down the same day. Don't forget to watch the sunset from the top.

If you are planning for trekking this summer... Go here... Reach McLeod ganj by bus and spend time visiting this small town, also dharamshala, than later on you need to hire a personal car to go to baksu.. You can also do the walking remember it is a valley crossing of 2-3 hours. Now you start your trek of triund 4-5 hours... Amazing place.. At night stargazing..if you want to do camping you can stay there at 1 or 2 nights, just need to pay the rent of your camp.. The food is available up there.. Well surely you should not expect 5 star service and why you should, you are in adventure and luxury is a straight no... Remember to take some warm clothes..as it is 3000m above from sea level.. The place is amazing to spend your summer holidays. Challenge yourself with this trek. Even you can go at snow line where you can touch the snow.. But for that you need to trek more for 4-5 hour.. If you are taking the risk of travelling in rainy season take the recommended accessories.. Hope you enjoy...

The trek till the top is around 6-7 kms total. Highly recommend even if you have just 1 day. You don't need a guide, unless you're camping on the top. We began the climb at 8 am and since we are not regular trekkers, we reached the top by 10:25 am. First time trekkers must start walking by 7.30 am. The view in the trail is extremely green, soothing and refreshing. The air is cold and fresh. You will occasionally come across a herd of goats and sheep grazing. The view on the mountain top is a absolutely breathtaking! There are small cafes on the top along with options to stay and camp as well. There are exactly 3 shops on the top serving Maggie, dal rice, tea and coffee. Pls do not miss this if you plan a trip to dharamshala.

The trek might be a little exhausting for the people who do not do a lot of physical activity.. But slowly and steadily one gains momentum.. The views above are so pretty that you would forget all the stress of the trek in a jiffy. My suggestion, stay there for the night, calm your mind and soak it up all in.. You don't get such view in ur daily life.. Mame the most of your time up there..

The trek to triund is one of the easiest and amazing treks in India.

The trek starts and stretches for nearly 12KMs to and fro.

Start your trek early in morning so that you can spend the evening time roaming in and around the MacleodGanj city.

Its an awesome trek - Triund hill - considered to be an easy trek but for people who have not done it prior or if someone is towards a heavier side - they may have to take small breaks.

We started from Delhi at around 530 am from Dwarka - took the Route via Janakpuri which has 3-4 bridges which connects to Karnal highway.

Ambala highway is 4-5 lane highway - awesome drive - you cab easily drive at 80-100 km - 3 tolls are there until you take a turn towards Dharamshala/ Kangra district. It would hardly take about 3.5 hrs maximum to cross all this.

This road is one way lane - so drive carefully. The only time you will take is when you start driving up Kangra Valley - you pass Baglamukhi Temple + Naina devi + Bhakra Nangal Dam + Amazing Sutlej River + many more amazing views.

Caution- Don't drive in AC as your car may break down i.e. sometime due to high altitude roads - AC belt may get jammed - results in jamming the steering - so please don't drive in AC up the hill - rest your call guys.

Once you reach in Mcleodganj- prior entering main city - you may get a long jam as police allow each car one by one - you May either park available by government or park at your stay in case they have parking available.

You have an amazing market + Monastery ( Dalai Lama Temple) - you can either book your stay in Mcleodganj or Dharamshala or if you are interested in trekking - you may go up to Dharamkot. But please take local taxi or auto - Don't drive up in your car - car tyre Will burn.

You may rest for a day once arrived - next morning - eat something a little and then start from Galu Cafe (first stop) where a cop will note your name or group as security.

You will get 5-6 tuk shops on the way up on Triund hill - Please make sure you carrying your chips+ biscuits + peanut butter + bread + food ---- as food on Triund is super expensive - obviously.

Make sure you have trekking shoes + backpack to carry spare clothes as it may rain on the way up + rain jacket or rain coat ( rain coat will cost about 150- 250).

Once you reach top on Triund - (9km trek) - the view is just breath taking. You may find tent vendor while trekking too - 300-600 per person - apply your skills to bargain.

Feel the air and mountains around you. There are 4-5 shops in total on the hill - so you can get your food order booked as they have limited stock considering its on Hill.

Next morning you may go further on Snow line trek (4km) more or come down to Dharamkot or Mcleodganj.

It was an amazing trek you must go to💯
I really loved it❤. The trek is about 7-8km and the trek is not dangerous but the steps takes your energy. There are many stoping points for food and drinks you can visit.
Before starting of trek there is checkpost for the bags to check the bottles.
The trek is very tiring but when you reach up then you have a really beautiful view of the mountains. ❤
You must visit once atleast for a great experience 😍

It is a 7km trek from McLeod ganj. The first 5km is moderate trek. The last 2km is a bit steep. Will be slow on the last part. No range for mobile at the top. Good to stay there in tent for one night. The view of Himalayas form there is just awesome. Must visit .

Too crowded now. Earlier this place used to be such a great trek but now with all the crowd it feels more like a picnic spot. Starting from summer of 2018 the forest department is taking steps to control that, and number of camps that can be set up is limited to a two digit number only. Make sure to rent one at a travel agency at Mcleodganj itself before you begin the trek, else you may face a problem. Also, they have banned setting a bonfire at the top. Keep that in mind.

The Triund top is awesome. The trek is of medium level but the last km stretch is little strenous. There are many small cafes on the way so you get all basic amenities. Keep your bags light so it is easy to carry.

A really amazing hike, you definitely feel like you're in the Himalayas. Leave early in the day, before nine, in order to do the whole thing in daylight. Be prepared to cross snow and very, very steep passes. Significant fitness level required!
