State War Memorial

Visiting the State War Memorial was a moving experience. I especially liked the Indian map made with various colors.

The atmosphere was calm, surrounded by nature. It's easy to get there by bus from anywhere in the city.

They have rest chairs and washrooms available.

It's a simple yet powerful reminder of our nation's heroes, the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and why it's important to for us to honor them.

I definitely recommend visiting the State War Memorial in Dharamshala.

A beautiful tribute for our brave fallen heroes who laid their lives for us. The place is silent and soothing as if the nature itself is paying homage to the mountain heroes. Do visit here because every person directly or indirectly is under the debt of those martyrs. Lush green surroundings, tall- huge pine trees and beautifully arranged flowers are a perfect resort from our hustling lives to come and sit here to think about the supreme sacrifice of hundreds.

I have goosebumps when I visited this place. There are two segments. One is outdoor section and one is Indore section. Both segments have entry fees of Rs. 10/- each. Everyone should spend more time in Indore section. Only one thing I'm little offended that Amar Jyoti is not flammable and not maintaining well.

The State War Memorial in Dharamshala is a beautiful and serene place to pay your respects to the brave soldiers who have fought for our country. The memorial is located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible. The entrance fee is minimal and there is ample parking available.

The memorial itself is well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. There are walls with the names of the fallen soldiers, a museum that tells the story of the wars, and a tank and an airplane on display. There is also a children's park where families can relax and enjoy the outdoors.

It’s nice attraction point for tourist. If you want some relaxing time with war history this is the point… it will be covered in 2-3 hr… If you are staying long in dharmshala must visit … If you are for one day and lot to cover skip this one…

The state war memorial is built in the remembrance of the brave soldiers of Himachal Pradesh but the Himachal Government and is of utmost importance to their Himachali people and an inspiration to the young minds of Himachal.

If you are in Kangra,HP. You should visit here. It is about India Pak Kargil War memorial place. Not so much big. But very beautiful place and there is gardan also. There is children play gourd or something for children

Must visit place..ticket us just Rs.20 per person. Himachal has given us the soldiers who fought each battles after independence Cap. Vikram Batra, Captain. Saurabh Kalia, Kargil War Martyer, 1947-48, Operation Polo, Meghdoot, 1965,1971, Kargil War and any More...

Small and thoughtful memorial park, maintained well. Very poignant and solemn feeling over comes the visitor when visiting this war memorial

War Memorial is an important place to see in Dharamshala. There is a memorial built at the entry point of Dharamshala in memory of those who fought to protect the motherland. The place has beautiful surroundings. Well maintained by local authorities. Variety of flowers in garden. The war memorial was built to commemorate the memories of those who lost their lives to save the motherland. There is a lovely map depicting the various regions of India. The memorial itself is lovely with tall granite walls detailing all those that lost their lives. Nice place for family outing .Houses a garden , play area, museum museum (separate ticket 20 ₹)and rest rooms .
Garden is big and contains variety of flowers ,pine trees,well maintained with a map of India in stones, 2 bridges and several war memorabilia /statues .
Museum has audio guide and av aids for further details . Was undergoing renovations in parts at this time .
It also has rest rooms and drinking water facility.

It's a beautiful memorial situated on the hills of dharamshala, it also has a great sitting area and a park for children ...so i highly recommend this place

What an amazing place. Blissful and a reminder of the supreme sacrifice made by our brave men and women in uniform. The peace and progress we enjoy should not be taken for granted.

I visit here 1st time for my trip to Dharamshala. Its look like India war memorial same as India Gate. Slute to our soldiers who die to save the country.
