US Visa Biometrics Centre and passport collection

Went for my Biometrics at this US Visa Application centre in Bombay
Located near to the US Consulate and Immediately adjacent to the ONGC Building

I had a time of 10 AM for Biometrics
The Crowd outside wasnt huge, the management of People by the Staff was excellent
Inside the Centre, the Staff was very courteous, very cooperative and understanding
DS 160 was checked, sticker was pasted on the passport and we were free within 30 minutes
Inside adjacent to the VAC is an office called Next Destination
They have Locker Facility as well as Emergency Filing up of DS 160, Photos and Xerox facility......LOCKER FEE RS 500, DS 160 FILLING FEE RS 3000

All in all the process is very smooth, Jist be Careful to carry your DS 160, PASSPORTS AND APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION PAGE AND FEE PAID RECEIPT

Biometric center , good professional employees inside the center, well trained and they will be helping you throughout the process (documents to carry, direction to counters). Counter is available inside the center. (Private and Chargeable) out side the center you can find the auto guys standing they will take you to the near by locker room (charges 400/-).Do not carry any electronic devices. Wallet is allowed in the biometric centre you can carry with you. Drinking water and washroom is available inside the center.Guys be here before just 15 minutes not more than that security will not allow to stand near center. Of all it was very smooth and hassle free process. Thank you US Visa Biometric center 👍

Reach 10-15 minutes before your appointment time.
There is a private locker inside the building where you can keep your backpack or phone, on the same floor where VAC. They charge you Rs 500. Even for a phone, charges are the same for the locker services.
3-4 people can book a single locker as well, to split the charges.
Make sure that your DS 160 does not have any mistakes like DOB, VAC won't let you in to take biometrics unless the corrections are made. The same locker guy runs a cyber cafe as well, and for the correction they charge Rs 3000.

The process is smooth. It takes 10 minutes to get the biometrics done, if everything is alright with your documents.

My experience is best .Very cooperative staff make comfortable to complete all process in less time . Please don't carry any digital gadgets during biomatrics appointment .

A very sophisticated place where evrything is done systematically. Lockers are charges at 500 which is the oly draw back. The lockers r inside the building just b4 entering the biometric hall. So what I would recommend is that when your are standing in the line to enter the building speak to the other applicants infront of u or behind u and ask them if they are goin to use the locker..coz evryone gets a phone so unless they have a friend or family with them they will have no choice but to use the locker. So just ask them if they would want to share the 500. You can take upto 10 applicants phones and put it in ur bag b4 entering the building ask the applicants to pay you 50 rs each which comes to 500. Go into the locker and pay the 500 they will give you a receipt. Only thing is that you will have to wait for all the 10 PPL to finish with you..which is hardly around 5 to 10 mins tops because the process is very fast. Plus it's better to spend 10 mins waiting rather then paying the full 500 rs

For Dropbox folks you only need to carry ds 160, 2 pics per guidelines and old passport and visa. You can carry mobile and cash inside for last min edits etc. it’s speedy and easy if u keep docs ready

Excellent human management specially for senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and ladies carrying small kids with them. Staff is very helpful ,cooperative and caring.

It's a straight forward and systematic process. Arrive no more than 20-30 minutes before your appointment time. Technically only 3 documents are needed for most visa types: DS-160, appointment confirmation letter and passport.
I needed my BMB number for my K-1 visa as well which I was carrying as an additional document (not mentioned in the list of documents to be carried).
Took me 20 minutes end to end.

Do not carry any electronics or additional bags as they are not permitted beyond a point. They have a locker system inside the facility (paid service) where you could leave your belongings.

Paying Rs. 500 rent for safe keeping of objects is a rip off for sure. Taking undue advantage of visitors helplessness.

Went there for a dropbox appointment. My appointment was 3 hours after my son’s, but they permitted me to go in at the same time. The entire process took less than 15 minutes.

For Dropbox, they allow you to carry your phone as long as it is switched off. There’s a locker and xerox machine on the same level; but i didn’t have to use it. Nice, friendly and knowledgeable guys.

Parents/those who accompany applicants need to wait in front of the building. It can be a pain to wait in rains - so DO NOT come too early. Reach 30 mins before time and you can be done in about 60-90 mins tops.

There are no food courts close by, just a Starbucks at one BKC. Autowallahs charge 30 rupees per passenger for intra BKC travel. You can send your parents/friends there to grab a coffee while you submit your papers. My experience tells me it wont be a long wait for them.

I'd like to share my experience with the emergency-approved B1/B2 visa process.

I had my OFC appointment in Mumbai and my counselor appointment in Chennai due to some new CGI website issues. For those of you heading to the Mumbai OFC, be aware that it's located in a different building from the interview venue. There are no signs or banners to guide you, so ask the guards for directions. It's situated in the Standard Chartered office building.

In the interview building, there's a mobile locker available for ₹50. However, in the OFC building, the mobile locker costs ₹500. I decided to lend my mobile to someone with a later time slot. Arriving early is a good idea, as you might complete everything before your scheduled time.

The entry process is straightforward: a guard will check your entry and provide you with a slip. Another guard will then take your slip and guide you to the next step. Upstairs, the management will organize your documents (passport, DS-160, and appointment confirmation).

Once inside the cabin, the staff will check your documents, take your photo, and fingerprints. After that, you're done.

The entire process usually takes around 20 minutes if you haven't brought any prohibited items. Remember to print your DS-160 form within the last month, be formal in your attire and demeanor as your picture will represent you further.

Biometrics - Very efficient process. From being allowed at the gate to exiting, it took only 20 mins. Points to keep in mind, 1. arrive about 45 mins before the scheduled appointment time; they start calling out appointment times about 40 mins prior to the actual time. There's no point in coming earlier than that as you have to wait at the pavement opposite, and it can get really crowded and slushy there, with no shelter from sun or rain. 2. Keep your appointment confirmation, the confirmation page, and passport handy. 3. Don't take bags, smart watches, or mobile phones inside the gate. While there is a privately operated locker inside, the charges are very high. Normal analog watches, bracelets, wallets you keep in your pocket, and transparent water bottles are allowed. 4. Make sure your application is correct. While there is a private cyber cafe inside, I understand the charges are high.

After docs and security check, you go in. First, your barcode is scanned, and if all ok, a sticker is placed on your passport, and you're sent to collect a token. Then you stand in a queue, someone checks docs and token, and when called, go to the counter specified. Give the docs and follow instructions for photo and fingerprints. Your confirmation page is stamped, and you're done! Take your docs and exit.

Washrooms are available and very clean should you wish you use them.

In all, it was a very good experience. Thanks to all the reviewers before me, as that helped me figure out the best time to reach, what to take, and not take.

2. From Bandra Pvt Auto Charges around 90-100Rs.
3. Reach Atleast 15-20mins Before Your Appointment Time.
4. Electronic, Metal Objects, Cameras, pendrive Not allowed.
5. Try to go there with someone who can carry your belongings as nothing is allowed inside the building, Private Locker Facility Is Available For 500Rs Which Is Expensive.
6. Process Is Smooth And Fast , Hardly Takes 15-20mins , Staff Is Very Helpful.
7. Make Sure You Fill Your Ds-160 Correctly.
