Ideal location for finding various birds especially during winters. During my visit in early January'2018 I didn't find many of them though as the weather was quite hot till then. Locals told me other years by December end you find hundreds of migratory flamingos perched in the mudflats.

Spotting the young flamingos was the piece de resistance of this trip in May 2018! Saw mudskippers and few different birds near the mangroves. The best place to spot flamingos is from the jetty however the local security guards are very rude and do not allow anyone to go beyond a certain point.

Great place. Will get to see flamingos, vessels, mangroves and some other sea birds too if you're lucky. Some places are marshy, so better choose your footwear wisely. Great for an early Sunday morning trip. 10 mins walk from the station too. (Shortcut that has a lot of marshes & slums)

Been visiting here since childhood. A very serene place. A little messy these times due to construction work going on, but news is that a ropeway will be constructed from here leading to Elephanta Caves.

Amazing place for cyclists. Amazing scene during sunset. Insane view. Can't describe the beauty of nature at that point.

Falmingoes are back here this year. However, since work is going on, the guards at the pier do not allow entry. One has to take prior permission for taking pictures for the Colgate jetty. It is suggested to check into the tide timings before venturing.

It is the only point for flamingo bird view in Mumbai. Less crowded area. At walkable distance from Sewri station. Very nice to view sunrise from here. Kindly note the low tide timings before visit to this place as flamingos can be viewed properly in low tide situation.

Awesome flamingo park. Many birds species arrive at this place every year. This flamingo park is much different than any other parks. Many old abandoned ships. Proper care is taken for less disturbance to flamingo while interaction with tourists. Many artist drawing the beautiful scenery at this place. Awesome species of flamingo. Open to public. Have many varieties of flamingo. Educational for all ages. Very entertaining place. Nice and helpful staff. English speaking staff. Detailed and clear instructions. Drinking water and food stalls available. Cash and card payments accepted. Taxi available at the entrance. Thanks for the services.

I have been there a few times & plan to go this December. Above all (barring the scooging & craning) one does get a fairly scenic view of the birds....

It's a place for sea lovers. There's fort wherein u can visit just nearby but be careful as it's doesn't have any safety grills. The view is amazing....
If u r lucky u will see flamingos sitting nearby shore...
Best time to visit is before sunset
Have fun....

Sewri (pronounced as Shivdi / शिवडी) was a small hamlet on the eastern shore of the Parel island, one of the original seven islands of Bombay. Sewri has a fort that dates back to 1770. The Agri-Horticultural Society had established gardens at Sewri, which were acquired in 1865 by Arthur Crawford, then the Municipal Commissioner of Bombay, for building a European cemetery. Large parts of Sewri belong to the Bombay Port Trust and were incorporated into the harbour facilities. In 1996, the mangrove swamps of Sewri were declared a protected ecology. Lesser flamingos from other parts of India come to these mangroves to breed. The coastal area of locality includes the Sewri mudflats, a wetland. The flamingos arrive at the mudflats from the months of October to March every year. These mudflats are near the Sewri jetty, which is a 20-minute walk from the railway station.

The Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road (RAK marg) which consist of four adjacent roads begins at Sewri and ends at Maheshwari Udyan (Matunga) near King's Circle station. Fatima High School can be found at the beginning of the RAK road. The Sewri Christian Cemetery, the largest of its kind within city limits, is located here.

Sewri East houses a number of industrial units especially those of Petrochemical industries. Sewri West is largely residential, consisting of housing societies like Sewri koliwada, BDD Chawls, Mulraj Bhuvan. The Mulraj Bhuvan Group (MBG) is also a very famous club in this area known for its sporting and social activities. built by British in year 1925, Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Gulmohar Society, Labour Camp and Bhatwadi. The market area is called "Sewri Naka".

Opening up of mill lands and the Mumbai Port Trust lands for development has resulted in a lot of construction activity in this area. The (Sewri-Nhava Sheva transharbour link), which is being planned by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), threatens the habitat of the migratory flamingos.

Sewri Flamingo Point Mumbai, is a place near Sewri locality in Maharashtra state of India.Sewri Flamingo Point is at a distance of around one kilometre or walking distance of 20 minutes from the Sewri railway station.
The point has large areas of mudflats which are not only a safe habitat for flamingos in winter but also has adequate food availability. A large number of flamingos reach along with their babies from their breeding area, Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, to Sewri every year. They arrive and stay between the month of October to March.Other bird species come to feed at the flats...

Great location for bird watching. Jetty is currently barricaded by police and is off limits due to some recent accidents.

We are used to seeing sea with beach and crowd and bhelpuri stalls etc. This location provides a different view of the sea. It is calm. No crowd at all.

A simple small jetty with ample opportunity to see flamingoes all around. If you go at low tide, you'd be able to see the flamingoes nearby. No public facilities like toilets or drinking water or even shops for snacks etc. A small parking space for a few cars is available right at the entrance of the jetty. It's not dirty to walk, but there's no place to sit or relax.

Great place to see the Beautiful Flamingos! Its is advisable to get your binoculars and please do check the sea tide timing before hand, if its a low tide you will get to see the flamingos!

Dock or an sea shore dates back from Mughal/Maratha Empire era, good for sightseeing flamingoes in Summer, old ships being wrecked is a common site at this Dockyard as this is no more of nautical use. Anyways calm place to find peace within main city.
