Too crowded but good food and great music. They have automated the whole ordering system which is praiseworthy. But too much of rush causes nuisance.

The Leopold Cafe and Bar is a restaurant and bar[2] on Colaba Causeway, in Colaba area of Mumbai, India, located across from the Colaba Police station.[3][4] It was the location of one of the 2008 Mumbai attacks as it was one of the first sites attacked.
It was founded in 1871 by Iranis (a term used for Zoroastrians in Mumbai who arrived in India in the 19th century, as opposed to "Parsis") and named after King Leopold of the Belgians. These Zoroastrian Iranians came to India in the late 19th and early 20th century, and many of them opened restaurants now often termed Irani cafés.[6] It first started out as a wholesale cooking oil store and over the years has variously been a restaurant, store and pharmacy (hence the name "Leopold Cafe & Stores"[7]).[8]

Prior to the terrorist attack, it was particularly known as a popular hangout for foreign tourists. After the attack, it is now also popular with many Indians to commemorate the spirit of defiance. The Leopold Cafe has preserved some of the signs of the attack as a memorial, whereas at the Taj and Trident, the damage from the attacks has been repaired.[9]

It uses an Achaemenid Persian Lion Rhyton as a part of its logo to indicate its Zoroastrian affiliation.

It is one of a couple of Irani Cafes that are still doing good business, while many others are fading away.[10]

The cafe was an early site of gunfire and grenade explosions during the 2008 Mumbai attacks by terrorists on 26 November, at about 9:30 PM. The terrorists, approximately an hour after landing, fired shots into the restaurant from outside, killing 10 people and injuring many others. The restaurant was extensively damaged during the attacks.[11]Sourav Mishra, a Reuters reporter and one of the first media witnesses of the attack, suffered severe bullet injuries.[12][13] After spending one and a half minutes at the Leopold Cafe, the terrorists walked over to The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the main target.

The cafe defiantly reopened four days after the attack,[14][15] but was reclosed on the recommendation of the police as a safety measure after two hours, due to the unexpectedly large size of crowds gathering there.[16]

A must visit in every food lover’s bucket list, this place exudes vibrancy and warmth alike. Worth its consistent quality and taste, the cafe is a crowd puller for its sheer range of food and drinks. All cuisines are delectable. Desserts are heavenly. Service is super quick possibly due to queues especially on weekends. Prices have gone up substantially post pandemic and seem a bit unreasonable. But it’s a good go to place once in a while to unwind.

Most commonly visited places in Mumbai with historical importance, Leopold has wide variety of tasty food options. Especially would recommend the Korean wings and Chicken burger. Even the desserts are a must try.

Historic cafe with a tragic event attached. But apart from that, food, ambience are good. Love their cheesecake. Though I would love to have the option of ordering few biscottis/cookies with tea/coffee and not have to buy a certain quantity.

So the weather was super hot and we had to stand in a long line to get inside.

When we did go in there was literally no space because it was extremely crowded. The bartender and the waitress were really nice to us, so all the waiting and heat is forgiven. Although they should have a space to wait.

The food was delicious and the vibe amazing. I have heard that this place used to be cheaper and now that its popular they have increased the prices. I am not sure if its true, if you know anything so respond.

Overall, i had fun. The prices are not very high when you see the portion size on the food.

I was a happy customer.

The food was great! Pasta was steaming hot and cheesy, Schezwan noodles were slightly spicy, the cottage cheese sandwich was very mild, but tasty and the pastry no doubt was the best of the lot, it was very soft and moist.

This is the place where I had my first date in the year 2005. I was new to Mumbai, and my wife (my classmate and date back then) took me there. The service, food, music, and the overall vibe of the place were so awesome that it became the beginning of something that would last for a lifetime ❤

In the past 18 years or so, we have visited this place countless times. Not just to relive the great memories but also to feel young once again. Nothing has changed there: the food, service, music, and ambiance are still as great as they have always been.

I wish I could give more than a 5-star rating to Leopold 😊.

A must go to Restaurant if you are in Mumbai, near the Gateway of India area. Amazing food at reasonable price.Ambience is good. The place is always crowded so booking a table in advance is suggested and please be there on time.
The scars of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack are still preserved and can be still seen.
The staff is friendly and service is timely.

Loved the vibe! One of the best places to catch with friends in town. Delicious food.
The staff especially the female security was jovial and managed things well despite the crowd trying to get a table. She was good

Very wonderful resto bar at Colaba, South Mumbai. Its ambience is very good and it can boast of many regular and loyal customers. The staff there are very friendly and polite and the services are very good n prompt. Food quality is also very great and rates are also quite good in comparison to other nearby such places.

Awesome vibes you get here. Full with tourists & mostly foreigners. Ambience ok ok not so great. It's just like a normal cafe. Talking about food - we ordered paneer in chinese sauces. It was actually amazing & delicious too. Apple pie, pasta was bit just ok types. Don't miss chocolate truffle though! Hangout with your friends would be good. It's located near colaba shopping so you can expect lot of crowd here. It's near to regal cinema too.

I just had dessert. The apple pie a la mode (with one scoop of ice cream) was no good, couldn't finish it.
It looked like pre-made frozen tart. The apple filling tasted artificial.
The service was ok and the ambiance really busy and loud, but expected from a place like this.
I would go back, but stay away from the apple pie!

First meal in Mumbai was at this iconic location. I ordered wings which, in retrospect may have been a bad idea, as there was too much breading and sauce but there were still tasty and I finished all of them. I left the sides and salad as they didn't look that good, but the service was really fast as I sat on the ground floor. If you want AC you may have to wait to get a table upstairs. You can still see the bullet holes in the walls and windows, as there was an incident here and at the Taj a few years back. I guess they left them as a reminder or testament to their survival. I'd recommend but only if in the area, maybe not worth trekking it there from across the city.

A good spot. One of Parsi cafes that has now become a tourist hotspot.
Decent prices.
One of sad things to think about was that 10 people were murdered here during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The marks left by bullets have been left as a reminder.

The food here is amazing! Although I only tried the veg option. I ll go again for non veg options for sure. The fried potato was so good. The pasta was amazing as well. The mocktails also had good flavour. The cake was also amazing. We had the opium cake. All in all a good vibe with all the old posters around you. I recommend you to go and sit in AC. Although get ready for AC blast but it's quite a good feeling during scorching Mumbai heat!
